I am a teacher and can't generally post during the day most days. So I read when I can, but by the time I get to a place at home where I can post, it's night time, and I don't like to bump old threads and there aren't a lot of people around. I'll try harder
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

I don't think I am a full time lurker, but still not really well known. I feel like I am more of a random commenter. So I am not even sure this poll applies to that. But here I am <waves>
It's so funny how many people think they are lurkers when I'm like, wait, we've known you for years! Like kittycatbio something something said yesterday she's just a lurker. What? You've been here forever! Makes me wonder if I'm actually a lurker too?

Samsies. The Man doesn't let me get on ProBoards at work. I'll try harder to post after hours and not be so creepy!

right? People - if I know what you look like from the MUT or I know your real name from my (sad, failed, halfassed) involvement in the RATT then you are most assuredly not a lurker. Come on.
There are people reading this RIGHT NOW who have NEVER posted. Not like...only post once every couple of days. NEVER. EVER. They just read and wander on their merry way. That's a lurker. For instance - I occasionally lurk ML. I don't think I've ever actually posted there. I used to lurk H&F but now I just make them listen to my inane babble too.
A lurker is someone no one recognizes who randomly pops into a thread and says "hey you don't know me but I actually know some of your names and where you work."
I don't post much for two reasons: 1 - I can't keep up (usually late to the party) and 2 - my idea has usually already been expressed more eloquently than I could, so I just like it
I'm not around often enough to get into the conversations usually, but I have listed in a couple non-makeup threads lately. I also just really wanted to vote for getting off on hiding in the bushes and peeping.

Even if I'm not around much at night, we need to keep this place lively at night for the benefit of people like origami, summer (maybe, depending on what time it is over there), sushi, stealthmom, West Coasters in general, etc.
Yeah, I get not wanting to repeat what others have said but bumping up conversations that may have run their course earlier that day is fine if you have anything new to add, to ask questions, etc.
I lurk because reading the posts reminds me that there are still people in the world capable of forming opinions based on facts (and, therefore, able to construct arguments). This is regardless of whether or not I agree with what is being said.
I rarely post for a couple of reasons. 1) I don't have much time for anything. I'm only here now because I'm a procrastinator and have 5 projects due next week. 2) Someone has usually already covered my thought on the topic. I usually just like comments if I feel compelled to comment without commenting.

I post occasionally, but lurk way more often. Usually by the time I get here someone has already said (much more eloquently and articulately) what I wanted to say - I "like" a lot of posts.
I'm a special snowflake, lol. I enjoy reading the discussions on current events and politics, but I don't really feel like I'm smart/articulate enough to actually join in the conversation.

I lurk here because I like the discussion, but I don't usually participate because you ladies are much more well-informed, well-versed and well-spoken than I am on these things. Usually one of you beats me to what I'd want to say anyway. I appreciate the perspective that I've gained from lurking, though, because it's made me consider things on a deeper level than I sometimes would.
I post very randomly on ML and used to post to H&F while I was training for my first half last May (which I'm running again this coming May!). But I've always been a bit intimidated to jump in here because of what I said above. And I figured a random person liking a bunch of posts was more creepy than me jumping in and saying, "Yep, this!" So ... yeah. That's why I lurk.
I lurk. I rarely feel educated or informed enough to provide a response, and I'm often too busy to keep up in a timely manner, but I have learned so much from you ladies(ETA: and gentlemen).
I'm more middle of the road with politics and it seems like I would have to have a huge block of time and be ready for an attack to post sometimes. Other times I am in the by the time I have read the story and posts, my internet time is over boat.
