My first car was a 1985 Dodge Colt bought for me by my dad in 1991. It didn't have a/c, power anything, and had some sort of leak that fogged up the windows with a greasy residue - but I loved it anyway.

It was a 1986 Audi S4000, bright cherry red. I think I inherited the car from my brother in 1995 who inherited from my dad who drove it after my mom had it for a couple years. It was a well driven car. It was awesome to have in high school, well other than the one driver's door handle that didn't work when it was cold (and we lived in Indiana)
I posted a picture of it (well the model) in the other thread. It was a 1997 Ford Probe.
That was supposed to be my first car too. My dad bought a totaled one super cheap, and it was stolen from his friend's garage/repair shop before they was able to get the title processed and everything registered in his name. So the old owner got the insurance $$ for it, and my dad's money (which was only a few hundred dollars but still).

I am mad on your dad's behalf that the friend did not give the money back. I loved that car.
1991 Plymouth Acclaim in white. I won't ever buy a white car again. I put 220,000 miles on it before a city dump truck took off the trunk and bent the farm badly.

Apparently I'm telling the story wrong. The friend was just the owner of the shop, not the owner of the car. The owner of the car was someone different - basically, the person was in an accident and the car was brought to my dad's friend's shop and instead of the car being repaired, it was totaled.. then stolen. How someone drove away with it, since it was totaled and all, I have no idea.
1992 Saturn SL2. It was pretty nice since it was my mom's, then my dad drove it, then they gave it to me. It was a manual and they were tired of commuting to DC in it.
I still miss having a manual car. One day I'll have one again.
An electric blue 1994 Mercury Tracer, purchased in 2000. This isn't mine, but it looked a lot like this:
The interior was also blue. It had automatic seat belts, AC and a cassette player. Plus an after market remote starter. So fancy. It had about 74k miles when I bought it, and about 120k miles when I got rid of it, 6 years later.
1972 Volkswagen Beetle. This was in 1998. It was my aunt's old car that was not running when she gave it to me (I wanted it!). I bought a new engine using my own money (~$500) and I got new tires for my birthday (~$180).
That was mine-all-mine and mom couldn't take away? A 1977 Plymouth Volare. My grandma bought it for me from a friend of hers. Little old lady mobile. Sunshine yellow with a white vinyl landau top and "dog dish" rims.
1984 Ford Tempo that I got for Christmas in 1999. It was my great grandma's car and my mom inherited it when grandma died. Mom then passed it along to me a few years later.
First car I bought was a 2001 Kia Rio that I bought in 2002. It was incredibly small but got great gas mileage. We sold it about six years ago and DH just sent me a pic last month when he saw it while driving around town.
