I loved that book! I thought Skloot did an excellent job of balancing the science with Lacks' family history and individual story.
I just finished At Night We Walk in Circles, which I liked pretty well. It was somewhat slow, but written very well and left a little hanging at the end.
Now I'm reading A Constellation of Vital Phenomena, which is beautifully written. Also, I wanted to cry on the first page, so I think I'm in for it with this one.
I've been into nonfiction recently. I read Homicide, by the guy who inspired The Wire or something.
That's what he based his earlier show, Homicide: Life on the Streets on, right? I'm interested to hear what you think of this book, because I loved the Homicide show, and The Wire.

I really liked Homicide, but I agree that the first few seasons of the show were more compelling than the book.
Queen of the Tearling - set in the future, but 'medieval' times...sort of GoT style magic queens. I don't want to say anything else because I don't want to spoil the book, but it was amazing.

We Are Not Ourselves: A Novel By Matthew Thomas I'm about 2/3? of the way through. I think it was recc'd on here, so if anyone has read, I'd love to know! I'm really enjoying it, but it's a bit depressing. (Family's struggle w/ father's early Alzheimer's diagnosis at 53.) Nonetheless, an interesting read!
I just finished The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror by Christopher Moore (which I read every year around Christmas). I think I'm going to read The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman next.
