My Ammo palette won't arrive until Monday. And I have a conference to go to on Tuesday, so I will not be able to glitter bomb my face until Wednesday. Boo.
So sorry for any disappointment in our Skip the Wait feature! We are working on additional ways to skip that aren't...xclusive to social media! If you have any other questions or thoughts please DM, I would be more than happy to help! ☠k

They suck.
I think some indication of how long the wait will be if you don't elect to shill for them would be a show of good faith. Because otherwise it just feels like lies.

given that I've already been on the wait list for six weeks (and, pre system change, people would wait for like two weeks) my guess is it's the ONLY way off the waitlist... unless you bitch at them and they move you.
it makes no sense, though. If their demand is soooooo high, that they can't just make it so you get the product in the next cycle, why do they need all this advertising?
I still can't get over the fact that they want me to push a product I haven't tried yet. I'm also miffed because I had a "wow! ipsy!" thing on my FB feed for like two minutes and somebody else subscribed using my code.

Mine too. Which is why I'd want to see a time estimate, because otherwise this just feels like a racket. I'm glad I'd canceled my account already.

Last year when I signed up I think I was on the waitlist for 3 months. And that was under the old program, but I still didn't want to post on my FB or subscribe to youtubers, so I waited.

Got an email response from them:
Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear that you're disappointed by our Waitlist!
Our Skip the Wait feature is just meant to be an extra “thank you” to our biggest fans who are helping us grow the community by sharing ipsy and the Glam Bag program with their friends.
I understand if you still want to cancel your membership, but I just checked your account and you were set to begin your subscription next month, so if you'd like I can go ahead and move you now.
Would you still like me to cancel your subscription, or get you set up to receive your first Glam Bag next month? Please let me know ASAP!
Best, Elle
somebody explain how the fuck I can be "one of their biggest fans" never having tried the product.
I've only had Ipsy for 2 months and am so annoyed that I have been thinking about canceling. I hate the constant emails asking me to watch videos or share things on FB. I think this is the push I needed to cancel - they are just ridiculous.
I can see why people adore the balm eye shadows! I just got Meet Matt(e) and wow! I've been wanting an all matte palette and this was a great buy. In two seconds I created a super fast but pretty eye. The shadows blend efforestly and very creamy for matte shades. I think this is a beautiful palette for anyone but feel it will be particularly great for blue eye folks. It is a seriously tiny palette though. I kinda like this though because .... I don't need anymore large palettes....
I also got Down Boy blush and the balm may have surpassed all other blush brands for me. It's just another beautiful shade in petal pink.
Finally I got brow pow in blonde and it's too soon to tell because I need to judge in natural light but so far it looks like a nice cool blonde color as opposed to say the clinique one which is too warm, for me, at least.
Thank you 50% blam sale on Haute Look!!
That is great! I'm really sad I didn't order anything from this sale. This tells me I really want more stuff from them, which is how I will justify a future large purchase. Apparently a The Balm has 40-50% off flash sales a couple times a year. Next time there is one, I am buying lots!!
Yes...I've been really happy with all balm products so far, especially their blush, notwithstanding hot mama, that I am still on the fence about. If you need more mattes in your life the Meet Matte palette is great. There's also meet matte nude which seemed very dark but I'm now more tempted because the meet matte is so awesome.

Ipsy marketing really annoys me. I HATE the way they model their makeup. They make makeup look so incrediably unappealing. They dress up women who look 30ish as like 14 year olds. It's weird.

This is unintentionally hilarious. "Don't drop us! We swear you were totally next in line!"
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
Ipsy is not worth any effort at all to get off the waiting list. I like my ipsy bags but I never even shared on FB to get off the list. Find something else. I think that link of my Subscription Addiction has a lot of recs.
I just go an email from Sephora offering me 100 points for taking a survey. so I started the survey - and it's INCREDIBLY long and annoying and detailed. I'm less than halfway through it and I think it's taken me like 15 minutes already.

If you're looking for a subscription that is more than just beauty, my MIL bought me 6 months of PopSugar for Christmas. I just caught a spoiler of February's box, and it has a tarte blush and (eta Sally Hansen) nail polish (amongst other non-beauty items). This will be my 3rd box I've gotten, and I really like it.
Also, I can't see anyone's FOTD who is uploading via tapatalk I'm using chrome on a macbook, and I don't know what's up.
right now I'm in the middle of a section where it's showing me a bunch of Sephora collection products and has asked me how much I think they cost, how much would be so much that I'd not even consider buying them, how much would be so little that I would think they must suck, and now how much would just be a leeeetle too expensive.
FUCK YOU ASSHOLES. They started off asking me if I've ever purchased anything from their inhouse line and my answer was fucking NO. So why are you asking me all these fucking followup questions for products I've never even really looked at.

I also get and really like popsugar. I've been getting it since August and most of the boxes have been great, and even the ones that aren't as good still have some things I love.
In other news, Ammo was my first ever high end palette and you guys are inspiring me to get it back out. I think it's buried in a drawer right now.

I hate it. But...100 points!
FUCK YOU SEPHORA! I finally battled my way through this stupid fucking survey that lacked any "N/A or I've never used this product line" options for my opinions (so I just gave everything I've never used shitty ratings) and at the end, after promising me 100 points, this is the message I get: Thank you for taking our survey. Your opinions are greatly appreciated! Your 75 bonus points will show up in your Beauty Insider account within 30 days.
I may need to unclench. Like a little. Because I'm seriously rageful about this.

If I had bought something from the HL sale, it would have been Meet Matte and more blush. I'm not wild about Matte Nude, but Meet Matte looks really pretty. After you were raving about it last night, I went on a hunt, and Meet Matte is no longer on The Balm's website. I wonder if they are discontinuing it?
It's still available at Nordstrom and through the Balm on Amazon, so I'm trying to decide if I should pay full price, or wait and see if it becomes cheaper at a later date, while risking never getting it. I also want the Balm Voyage palette. It looks so good for spring/summer. Plus there is a new Nude Dude palette that looks beautiful. So I could probably live without it if I never get another chance. But I still kind of want it.
I have one of the Read My Lips glosses. It's decent. Not long lasting at all but I like it more than the NYX butter glosses. It's got a nice, not too sticky texture and excellent shine. I really like the scent/. I wouldn't pay $15 for it, but at half price, it's a decent deal.
