Thanks! Every time I see this I can't wtf hard enough
Wow! I'm surprised that withdrawal method and NFP are that effective when done properly! I do understand though how people would mess up NFP, but how do you mess up withdrawal?
You don't pull out in time, you have sex around when you ovulate, etc.

I would have thought that the percentages of failure for perfect usage would take into account ovulation. I don't count that as faulty usage, just a normal hazard of the withdrawal method.
I am probably the only person who loved hormonal BC. I wish I could stay on the pill forever, it regulated all my hormonal issues and reduced my symptoms. Of course, I was on a brand that is horribly dangerous and they will never put me back on it. Sigh.
rugbywife I loved the Pill prior to DD. I loved controlling my period and never had issues. But now I'm older with potential blood pressure issues (had pih) so it's not really an option anymore.
I was meh on the iud. Uncertain what we will do next time.
What is pih?
I am older too, will be 37 soon after #2 is born and I was on Diane 35 (not sure if it has that name in the US), which controlled all my facial hair, acne and PCOS stuff.

Pregnancy induced hypertension. So high blood pressure when pregnant. It hasn't manifested post pregnancy but with my family history I don't want to mess with it.

Oh also, I guess I shouldn't be surprised if I end up having an oops. I am off bc, but we haven't used condoms yet. My cycles are so long...like 35 days, but every once in a while, they've been shorter or longer. I have no idea when I'm ovulating in any given month. I'm going to have to try condoms, aren't I?
We used P&P for 8 of our 9 years together. Well, more like 6 out of 9, with two years of deployment abstinence and 1 with permanent birth control. He got a vasectomy last spring.
We have one kid and she was the result of a very, very drunk weekend after FIL died. We weren't really thinking straight.
ETA: I guess I really did P&P with a little family planning mixed in. I watched my ovulation days and we tended to avoid sex those days rather than risk it.
I did try the pill once with DH. I was on it in HS and wanted to go back on it after DD was born and DH returned from deployment. I thought my body just needed to adjust at first, but I was having 2 week long periods every month. I let it go on for three months before I went in and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism.
Once I was diagnosed with that, I didn't want to add in a hormonal birth control and play with my hormones even more. It took almost two years just to get it all regulated with the Synthroid, fuck no I was going to add another factor to the mix.
Regular cramps also tend to knock me on my ass the first day or two, so my doctor warned against some of the other forms. H has his own valid reasons against condoms. It was all enough for my doctor and his to sign off on a vasectomy as our form of bc.
We both acknowledge that we were incredible lucky I didn't get KU'd more than once.
