The climate; we have four solid seasons which I love. Summers are hot with huge lakes to boat on. Winters are snowy but fairly mild with lots of ski areas. There are also great vineyards. It's really beautiful.
Where is this? Are you comfortable sharing the state?
Small-ish town but really liberal. Lots of community involvement, support for schools (which are great), fantastic restaurants, and the local university adds a lot as well.
location-wise we're far enough from each set of parents that they can't drop in at a moment's notice, but we can easily make a weekend trip to either of their cities/we could be down there in a matter of hours if there was an emergency.
My town has a great sense of community. It reminds me a little of where I grew up, which I really liked, except my current town is big enough that everyone doesn't know everyone and everything about everyone and all of their relatives, going back several generations.
Also, all that jazz about being near stuff to do and airports and stuff.
Right on the Mississippi River, so there's plenty of water activities, LCOL, small community but within 1 1/2 - 4 hours of lots of larger and major cities. I'm in Iowa.
You cannot beat a summer in Seattle. It's warm, gets light out at 4am (ish) and stays light out until 10. You can swim in the lakes, the sound, ride your bike everywhere, all within the city limits.
Big big amazing sky (clear starry nights are the best!), the mountains, close proximity to a few great national parks like Glacier and Yellowstone, great for lots of outdoor activities (hiking, camping, skiing, snowboarding, etc).
Things are far apart and the drive between cities sucks, winters get cold and longer than I like, but the beauty of the state makes up for it. I enjoy it here.

I do like the mix of country and coastal living. There's ranches and cattle and that lifestyle but in the same breath there's the gulf and the recreation that brings you.
It's not my favorite city but there is something to be said for the laid back lifestyle we have here.

Great restaurants. There's a lot of history and old buildings in this city, we have a great QMJHL hockey team, friendly people, and we are right on the water.

Im on the island and we definitely do not have that lol we have like 2.5 seasons..? And it's not hot. I'm so poorly acclimatized to hot, travelling with the navy nearly did me in.
Lol. Yes, the interior. I do love the time we spend on the Island but I'm not sure I could handle the dampness for long periods.

The smell of the desert after it rains. Also we are hours from the ocean, snowy mountains, or vegas. But far enough away to not feel crowded and have a decently low cost of living.
Relatively mild climate, great cost of living, city has strong economy and job growth, not terribly hard to get around in terms of traffic, lots to do, great restaurants.
It's winter. It's below zero & there is snow on the way...now is not a good time to ask!
Honestly, the way everything comes alive in the spring and the change in everyone's attitude is pretty great. People are generally very friendly. My town and neighboring bigger (still small) city are trying hard to spruce themselves up and make it a respectable place to live. (Often trying and failing, but major kudos for even trying!)
London has so much - great food, great entertainment, free museums, wonderful parks and we can get to so many other places in Europe in a few hours and cheaply.
