I've never been pregnant but I don't care about the update, I still wouldn't do it. (1) how do you get the nursery ready and know what you still need to buy if the shower is thst late? (2) there will be ONE MILLION pictures and you will be at your most pregnant then. Do you want to look at those pictures forever?
Hi AR! I'm in a somewhat similar situation due to one of my family member living out of state. I talked her and other relatives into scheduling a "Sip and See" about 4 weeks post due date instead of cramming in a shower near my EDD.
I'm not relying on that event for major gifts, so I'm thinking they will probably get left over items from my registry or basics like diapers and supplies. Not to sound gift grabby or anything, I am having these relatives invited to my baby shower so that if they feel inclined, they can send a gift around that timeframe.
I hope your relatives will find some way to compromise with you. I don't blame you for being stressed about the timing.
So I just had my shower Friday and I'm 36 weeks. I wouldn't have done it any later. I also work full time and the nursery is a disaster now because I need to reorganize it all. Can it be moved back at least two weeks?
Also: yeah. You are more important to be there. You are the guest of honor. People need to realize that.
