We told DS this morning and it was awesome. First, he giggled for like 5 minutes straight and then he was petting my belly. Then he told me how he was going to keep the baby safe so they don't fall down the stairs and how he was going to let the baby play with all his toys. He also told me that I have to go to the gym and get big and strong so the baby will grow and that if I run a lot it will shake the baby LOL. He is so excited.
I got to say this is a HUGE benefit to an age gap since he really realizes what is going on. Love it
Also, he is convinced it is a boy. I told him it could be a girl and he replied "it COULD be a boy" lol.

I love this! How old is he?
He is three. It really was the best reaction every. The giggles were pure magic. It was like he was so excited he couldn't contain himself lol.
I feel like crap. My throat, ears and last night I had a temperature. I haven't been sick in years.
DH offered to stay home today and take care of the boys. I was really impressed and this will be interesting. He's never had both of them all day and he's taking them to story hour. I suggest he leave the baby with me, but he said he would take them both. He's never taken them both out in public before without me.
Meanwhile I am just going to sleep and drink tea. Tomorrow I'm on from wake past bedtime.
Feel better!
My DH has found that taking both kids out by himself is probably easier for him than for me. People fawn all over the man with 2 kids for being so brave and considerate of his wife. But he is also more appreciative of my ability to do it after he does it.
karinothing My nephew is 3 and a total brat. When my sister in law told him she was pregnant he said " There will NOT be a new baby in THIS house!" I like your son's reaction a lot better
ha ha ha. Well, he has been a little obsessed with siblings lately. lol. Hopefully he will have the same reaction when the baby gets here!
@tokenhoser, I've looked up Webster chiros in desperation and none close to me. I am extremely hesitant because I've had back surgery before and am missing a significant portion of one disc. :/
C is coughing this morning, and there was RSV in her room in the last two weeks. No fever, and the cough is a bit better. H was all, "we can't send her with RSV! It's bad for little babies!! I don't want to endanger others!" Fine, but neither of us can be out today. He legit thought I would stay home. I missed Monday (planned day off) and yesterday (snow day). I need to be here today.
DS coughs for a week or three after every cold. If we skipped work for that, one of us might as well quit working.

My husband is having a shitty morning. Literally. He was changing DD's diaper (which he does too slow most of the time) and since the antibiotics for her EI are giving her diahrrea, she coughed and poo shot out all over the changing table. It wasn't really that much but he panicked and said he needed help.
Then he calls me while I'm driving DD to daycare and says he got pulled over and can't find his proof of insurance. I think this is his third ticket in 2 years. I'm annoyed.
In better news, the baby slept from 7:15-5:00! She probably would have slept longer but our bedroom door slammed shut thanks to the heater kicking on.
God I cannot wait to ditch this OB after babygirl is born. Been waiting 30 mins, several people who arrived after me have already been called back. I told the receptionist I only had childcare for another hour, and she just brushed me off. Grrr....

Ditto. DD has been coughing here and there for about the last 3 weeks. It just takes babies a long time to get over colds.
I heard on the radio this morning that 90% of infants in the same room as someone with measles will be infected. I know @tokenhoser posted the same thing the other day, but I sort of glossed over it until I heard it on NPR (sorry tokenhoser, I do the same thing to my H. LOL). That is HORRIFYING. Especially since there are kids with measles running around now. You can spread the virus for FOUR DAYS before symptoms appear.

Yeah, I was eye rolling at the people saying how they baby-wore and had good hand hygiene, so they were safe from measles.
So I'm part of this small private moms group on FB. There's another member who is totally BEC for me because her father and husband are both crazy commercial pastors (the like ones who do speaking tours and have private jets) and they were investigated for fraud. She's a crazy anti-vaxxer all like "I will build my children's immunity the way God intended, with whole, organic foods and essential oils!"
So I posted the NPR article about the kid with leukemia who relies on others to be vaxxed. She said, "If your kid's immune system is so weak, he shouldn't be in school."
OMFG RAGE.
So the poor kid with leukemia should be kept in isolation his whole life so you can be stupid. I'm so close to leaving the group because I want to punch her every time she posts anything.
Can you block her instead? Sometimes it's lovely to be able to just turn someone... off.
I'll have to play around with it and figure out how. Good idea.

congrats @callmefia
I am side eying all you that keep making comments about "looking old" at not even thirty or early thirties. STOP! Enjoy the years. Be proud. I honestly think I know more women who look more youthful as they get older. Maybe it is because they have stopped trying to prove something and are finding themselves in their own skin. Signed "the old MMM"
Our nanny needs to leave early today so I think I am going to take M to the gym this afternoon. I get to work out and he gets to play. I justify this by the fact I will be with him 24/7 next week on vacation.
Not much went on today...paid bills, watched a little tv, drop-off/pick-up DD from daycare and took a short nap :-). I am about to get dinner started and I might make some chocolate chip cookies too :-)
I am at work and mad that I didn't have time to get a bagel this morning. I could very easily walk across the parking lot to the deli in our office complex and get one, but it's cold and I am lazy. However I am also hungry, so there will come a point in time today where the hunger overtakes the laziness.
SHE PEED!! Not that anyone cares, lol. She ran around hysterically for about 20 minutes crying for a diaper, and then sat on the potty sobbing and peed. But she peed. It better get easier from here. At least I know she can hold it. Agh.

I ordered my husband a Valentine's Day gift for the first time ever. A bottle of Adam Levine cologne, haha. I told him I got him a gift and that I expect a NICE box of chocolates. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a $5 box of Russel Stover, which is fine by me.

We've been discussing getting a convertible seat for BP for a few weeks. Monday, DH told me he had been reading reviews and reports online about which one to get and had ordered one off Amazon. I was tired and didn't ask questions. Anyway, it arrived yesterday and it's the Diono RadianRXT. He spent forever messing with the thing last night and reading the manual, then spent a good chunk of time installing it this morning. I'm trying not to think back to how everyone on this board who has one hates it, and I'm also letting DH do all the assembly and installation, so maybe I won't hate it too. I went to put B in the car earlier and DH had attached the instruction manual to the back of the car seat with a note saying I "might need this." LoL
I have a double OB appointment this morning. Ultrasound and bi-weekly check. Fingers crossed it goes well! This is the day my OB reviews my GD log, and decides if I'm doing well enough on my own, or if I need help. Help being drugs, weekly growth ultrasounds, NSTs, early birth intervention, etc. I really hope he's okay with my blood glucose levels!
OB said my blood sugars look great! He was very impressed that I used an iPhone app to track them, LOL. Babygirl is measuring four weeks ahead though! I explained to the doctor that's probably just because of DH's family's genetically huge heads :-)
I live in PA, but grew up in NY. I am so sick of people who have moved south "bragging" on facebook about how they are at the beach, drinking coffee on their patio, swimming, etc while its blizzarding here.
We get it. You moved someplace warmer than us. Congrats.

Will they keep monitoring her size then? How big was DS when he was born?
