DH is the chair of our church's board of directors and they've finally reached a point where they're firing our one remaining pastor. I wish it was interesting, but it's not. It's just a series of small things and a man that can't ever apologize or acknowledge that it's been an awful year and we need help healing as a congregation.
So now DH has to fire a man 20 years his senior from a church job. It's kind of awful. They're doing it as a group of 3 so it's not all him, but as hobbies go, this whole year on the board has sucked. He's quitting at the end of February and I'm so excited.
I ordered my husband a Valentine's Day gift for the first time ever. A bottle of Adam Levine cologne, haha. I told him I got him a gift and that I expect a NICE box of chocolates. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a $5 box of Russel Stover, which is fine by me.
Tell him to do better. I can tell you with authority (it is my job after all), that Russell Stover and Whitman Chocolates are crap! (I sure hope nobody here works for that company...::ducks:
I'm in a local mom group on FB. Someone asked about onsies in larger sizes because her LO is outgrowing them at a rapid rate. So I suggested onsie extenders that I've seen suggested here on MMM.
I had never heard of them before here & have not actually ever used them. A million people (exaggeration) liked my suggestion and said it was the perfect solution. I love MMM for making me seem knowledgeable, when I'm totally talking out of my ass.
They asked with the recent snow to send in snow pants & boots so they can take the kiddos out to play in the snow.
I had to dress DS and take him out to play in the snow this weekend and it was fucking miserable. He cried when I put on mittens. And cried when I put on the boots. And then he couldn't actually get around at all without falling in the snow and crying.
And they want to do that with 16 kids? Have at it folks. You deserve a raise.

I always think that about the water play days in the summer. Changing 10 wet, screeching kiddos? yikes.
Good luck @awinter getting the girls to the pedi and zeewifeandmama with surviving another snow day!
The babies are at daycare which opened late and I am working from home. I think this is my first time being home alone since before the babies were born it is eerily quiet.

enjoy the quiet! Although, have you heard any phantom crying yet?
I made it to the pedi and she gave k some antibiotic too since she is presenting the exact same as E. She said we might as well just treat it all now and get rid of it. Now J just needs to stay fever free. He already has the congestion. Fingers crossed!
FIL is here to watch the kids as one more practice before I go back to work. I hate being here and not feeding them but I do plan to do our taxes and some deep cleaning. It will also be 60 today so pry take them for a walk or target run later.
How's FIL handling it so far? I'm impressed he's up for watching both, my mom is too nervous to go long periods alone with both of them yet.
Had P's first pedi visit this morning. He's down to 6 lb, 11 oz, which is within normal limits but the pedi and LC both mentioned I should try to go off the Norco ASAP because he's so sleepy. Not thrilled about that.

I work from home once a week and I LOVE it, but it definitely takes a while to get used to not having anyone else around. Before this, I only worked from home when the weather was bad, and H was also home with me, so there was still someone to talk to here.

Glad you made it to the pedi and have them both on meds. Hoping DS, DH and you all stay healthy!!

Good except he won't swaddle for naps and they sleep way better. I told him again to try. I know he'll figure it out. I'm going to have him write down when they sleep and if they have dirty diapers so I know. He loves babies and offered to do this. It's hard for me whether it's family or daycare watching them just knowing I won't be here. He'll have them till summer. Then my mom will watch and in fall they'll go to daycare.

IDK, I would talk to your OB/GYN. He is brand new, right? Isn't it normal for him to be sleepy at this phase? I just hate to see you suffer through pain. I needed to take my percoset until I finished my entire prescription after my C section.

I am really tempted to ask about WFH once a week as I have a long commute so it would be nice to have a day without such a long commute and to see the babies more. Glad you're liking it!

You're still so soon post-op...can you talk to your OB? Maybe alternate ibuprofen with the norco? Or stretch out time between the doses a bit, rather than quitting cold turkey?

Yeah my mom hates the swaddles too, but they sleep better with them!! That would probably be helpful to have him write that stuff down, even for me it can sometimes be hard to keep track of who has done what. Sounds like a nice way to transition to day care this fall.

My coworker/good friend just told me that she is 12 weeks pregnant. She had 2 miscarriages over a 5 month period at the end of 2013/beginning of 2014 so this is THE MOST AMAZING NEWS EVER. She told me at Starbucks and I started crying. What a happy day!!!
This snow, but not SNOW, is going to drive me crazy. I needed to get out of the house so went to the mall. Spotted the Martini side table at West Elm for 50% off and grabbed it for our sitting room. H isn't crazy about it but I think it's adorable

My Mom took the the day before their baptism so I could cook and clean. It was so weird! I kept looking in the living room for them.

My boss actually offered it to me when I came back from ML, so I didn't even have to ask. I think the things I love the most about it is:
the extra time with A, I have an hour commute each way normally.
the ability to get stuff done around the house on those days. I can pick up the apartment or put away the clean clothes before I start work in the morning, and get dinner started before A and my H come home in the evening.
So far this morning, I have cried on the phone with the receptionist, my midwife's nurse, in front of DD's babysitter, and in front of 2 people at work. My boss told me to go home and rest (nicely).
The nurse told me that my midwife (who's off on Wednesdays) will probably be more permissive than the OB who's there today, so to try to make it to my appointment tomorrow, but she's pretty sure I can take something for the nerve pain and/or steroids to try to get rid of the inflammation around my pinched nerve.
Also, when you almost never call, and then cry on the phone when you do call, people are very nice to you. I consider it a pretty good accomplishment that I have made it through about 70 weeks of pregnancy and only cried in front of a medical professional once, LOL.
I was just at Target for 20 minutes and basically decided on our entire bedroom facelift. Maybe DH will go for it since it's from Target and therefore cheap?
I want to show you guys to make sure stuff "goes" but the colors look really different on screen so I'm pretty sure you would tell me no way lol.
My SIL is in BEC territory, but still, she's getting to me today. She was a single mom for several years so DH and I completely understood her (over)reliance on my inlaws. Now she's remarried though and it's continuing and it shouldn't irritate me, but it does.
Case in point, she has her parents take her and her DS on vacation every year. They always do the exact same thing, down to the order of restaurants they go to and where they stay. We went one year, I was newly pregnant with DS1 and while it wasn't horrible or anything, the quarters were too close for comfort and I don't like being told "this is what we do so that's it" on my vacation and not that having younger and more kids counts for everything, but it should count for something. I was anxious to see if her new DH would continue with this tradition and low and behold, DH's gets a text from him mom this morning. They've already set the week, can we make it?
I told DH that I wouldn't be completely opposed if we got any sort of say on, for example, where we stay etc. But since we weren't even consulted about the week of the trip ahead of time, we're being asked to tag along on SIL's vacation, so no thanks. I'd rather plan a separate trip with my inlaws and our kids. Preferably to disney next year lol.

Hah, okay! I'm thinking a coral/aqua. Our (small) master bath is currently painted aquaish and our MB is a darker taupe. I really like them together, as well as with coral. Our furniture is white.
