I went in a 5w because I already had a yearly scheduled for that week. They just did a test to cofirm, nothing else. I came back at 8w to check for a HB and there was one!
8w. And even that might be early for an u/s, because I know not all practices do dating u/s.
I called the day of my BFP (4+2) and felt kind of put out when they told me the OB didn't want to see me until 8w. THAT WAS AN ETERNITY.
I had to wait until 8 or 9 weeks, too. But ended going in to see a perinatologist due to blood clotting issues at 4.5 weeks.
I rememebr calling after my BFP and being so surprised I had to wait so long. I was all "Don't you want to verify this?" and they asked if I'd poas and if it was positive. If so, I was good as their pee tests were the same as what I could buy.
My OB does 8-10 weeks. I was 9 weeks and 10 weeks with the pregnancies. They almost did an 8 weeks with this last one. The growth stopped five days before, so had that appointment worked out, I could have dealyed knowing or had to go back with a very stressful week before. I think I like late ultrasounds.
DD1 - first appointment at 5w, u/s at 8w DD2 - appointment at 10w, u/s (only) at 19w DS - appointment at 9w, u/s (only) at 20w
First was with OB delivered in hospital, second and third were with midwives delivered at a birth center hence the big differences. Only one u/s around 20w.
My first appointment was at 8 weeks with one of the nurses; I also had an ultrasound at that appointment (plus blood and urine tests). My first appointment with one of the doctors was 11 weeks.
First midwife appointment at 10 weeks which is standard for them.
But I had two (I think?) U/S at the MFM before that due to spotting and a history of early losses. The second was needed because the first was done too early and the HB was slow…they insisted I come in based on my LMP even though I knew I had ovulated late and their date was a week-plus off. Next time I'll just fib!
My first Dr Appt was at about 8 weeks. He just checked the cervix and positioning of the uterus. Not even a pee test! I was a bit disappointed I had the first u/s at maybe 10-12 weeks, I think. It was whenever they did the NT scan.
With J I had an us at 7w due to bleeding, otherwise it was scheduled at 8w. First appointment was at 10w. This was standard practice, 8w us and 10w appt., for all patients.
With the girls my first appt was at 8w. The practice liked to do them between 8 and 10 and did 8 with me since I was still nursing and they wanted to do a dating us. They did not do them with all patients. US was at 8w and change a few days after my appt. Thank God because that's when we found out it was twins. I needed those extra few weeks to process!
