P is currently asleep on my chest. He is starting to wake up now that his due date is closer and spent the morning hanging out and looking around. Less cool, he was up until about 1 am yesterday with hiccups and gas.
We have a weight check tomorrow which makes me a little nervous, but his wrinkles seem to be filling out so hopefully that's a good sign.
I finally get to drive post c-section which is exciting. MIL leaves Friday and my mom arrives that afternoon. The theme of the week is going to be GTFO the house because I'm climbing the walls.
C gets his first INGREDIENTS tonight. I fear I shall weep from my baby getting needle stabs.
I am excited for his new weight and height statistics.
I do not know how to engage with him. I know I am supposed to talk to him, but am inclined to be silent and have staring contests. I am clearly an amazing mother.
There's not much engaging you can do with newborns. It gets better when they can interact back. I am just hoping P likes listening to the Property Brothers for now.

S is doing very well. She's definitely an easier baby than her older siblings. Her prime overnight sleepin time is midnight to 10 am. That's pretty great now since it means sleeping in, but I go back to waking up at 5am next week for work. Hopefully she'll still want to sleep in on the weekends.

I need your lactation cookie bar recipe! They are delicious.

When DS was that age I rapped "ice ice baby" to him often. It cracked my sleep deprived ass up.

DS knew the WWHL themes song and would try to face the TV when it came on....

A is doing really well. Sleeping great at night with sporadic naps during the day. He recently has become super difficult about burping. I started gripe water last week, but now I'm afraid of overusing it. I never needed it with dd. I've only done tummy time with him twice and kinda feel like a slacker, but the kid HATES it.

I think I still count, L is 10 weeks old.
Doing well. She hates naps, and it's always a struggle to get her down. BUT, she's sleeping minimum 8 hours in a row at night (last night was 10+), so I call it a wash.
I have 1.5 weeks of ML left, and I'm excited to go back to work and talk to adults about adult things.

I'll email it to you! I eat them for breakfast
Post it, please!
My son is doing pretty well. He's an easy baby and gaining really (too?) well, so that is a huge relief. I suck at putting him down, though, and most naps he takes in my arms or snuggled against me in bed. I am worried about how they're going to get him to nap alone at daycare. For that matter, I am worried about daycare logistics in general. He starts in 2.5 weeks.
My DS is 9 weeks, and I have 3.5 weeks left of ML. He got a cold last week and has had 5 days of sad coughing and sniffling. Heartbreaking, but he's on the upswing now.
He has been sleeping 6-8 hrs/night (12-8 appx) in a stretch for the last 4-5 weeks. Lost his mind last night and woke up every 45 minutes with gas, etc. Poor baby!
We aren't good with putting him down at all. He falls asleep in our arms, and pending how pissed he is, may be white noise. I figure that it will sort itself out shortly.
Also worried about daycare. We have FT daycare set up, but are rethinking what we want to do. My DH is self-employed and could take DS with him a lot. I work at home but can't have the baby with me most of the time. It would be tough to deal with not having daycare. Just trying to sort it out.

I'm new here, so hi everyone!
We had our 2 week check today-- little man has gained 7 ounces, and is up to a whopping 6.5 pounds. Nights are ok; we'd been getting some nice 3-4 hour stretches of sleep, but I think he might be developing some reflux and is awake a lot more. :/
I'd also love the lactation bar recipe-- I had to take misoprostol this week for retained placenta, so I had to pump and dump for a couple days and my supply has tanked unfortunately.
P is asleep on my chest. She seems to be doing ok? Lots of diapers, asking for food every 1-3 hours, seems to be getting the hang of swallowing breast milk (at first she'd choke on it! I felt so bad!). We've had our first poo explosion and she peed on me earlier. If she was a boy I'd have gotten it right in the face.
I'm healing up Ok, emotionally I'm up and down.
Tonight we attempt First Bath and tomorrow are her newborn pics!!!
DS is curled up asleep on my lap and the nursing pillow looking all adorable. He fell asleep after 5 mins of nursing and I'm letting him sleep while he gears up do his evening marathon cluster feeding. Yesterday I fed him nearly constantly for 90 minutes, and then he gave me 7 glorious hours of sleep. Too bad they were between 730pm- 230am but I'll take what I can get at this age.

My LO will be 10 weeks tomorrow. Things are going well. Her reflux acts up here and there, but she's a pretty chill baby 95% of the time. She sleeps a good 5-6 hour stretches on average since about 4 weeks.
OMG @sessalee, you just reminded me that DS peed on me earlier (well, sprayed my shirt) and I forgot to change it. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?
Oh, and DS is nowhere near sleeping these 8-10 hour stretches you ladies are speaking of. That may be related.
LOL!
We got peed on regularly until we bought some cheap washclothes at Target and cover his penis with it while we change him. He also likes to hold onto it, and it can be used for quick spit-up wipe-ups or whatever other fluids get expelled.
We are not quick enough yet to do the two diaper trick, and frankly, DS gets super pissed when we wets himself so it's not practical to leave him in the old diaper. He also cannot be trusted in the new diaper or sans diaper - he's been known to pee in his diaper and 1 minute later, pee on one of us :-)
The wash clothes work for us - and what's a few extra pieces of laundry?

We do the wash cloths too. They work great. I like the baby wash cloths or those tiny terry burp cloths that don't work as actual burp cloths.

Thanks! That's a good tip. We got peepee teepees at the shower but those things are worthless. I think I'm doing the two diaper trick, but it's when I'm wiping his bum that I get in trouble. I will DEFINITELY be trying this washcloth thing.
I told my husband that I couldn't believe the amount of bodily fluid horrors we've endured and why didn't anyone warn us? And he looked at me like I was nuts and said that bodily fluids are all that new parents talk about, lol. Guess he's got a point.
J was 8 weeks this past Sunday, and sure enough, he went from dirty diapers with each feed to several days between dirty diapers. I read all about it in one of my baby books, but it still makes me nervous.
My second week back at work has been pretty uneventful. This is also my 2nd week taking fenugreek. My pumping output has increased, but J's gas is increasingly stinker...not sure if it's related to infrequent poops or the pills.
C gets his first INGREDIENTS tonight. I fear I shall weep from my baby getting needle stabs.

When I read 'ingredients' I thought you were saying he was getting solids for the first time tonight and was all 'wait. Didn't she JUST have C?'' and then I realized ingredients = shots. lol. #nothelpful
Poppy- wash clocks were a game changer. I found that the floor, the walls, us... We all got peed on a lot less. I bought a pack of 8 wash cloths for $4 or something to that effect. we also had a pee pee tee pee and found it worthless. He would pee out the side!

We're doing well - C is 3.5 weeks old and is pretty mellow. He's up 2-3 times to eat overnight and goes back down ok after each feeding - except for last night when he had some bad grunty gas for a while. He's been awake for longer stretches recently after being really sleepy for the first couple of weeks. He's been a much sleepier, cuddlier baby than DD was. He loves to nap on my chest, which I am soaking up since this is probably our last baby.
DD, on the other hand, is giving us a bit more trouble than after C first arrived - I think the new reality is setting in and she's very emotional and sensitive, pushing our buttons constantly. I'm trying to make time just for her and be extra patient, but that's so hard when I'm tired.
Also is there a point at which I should worry about his cord stump? He's 2 weeks tomorrow and it's still very firmly attached. And gross.
R's just came off on Sunday, even with all the hospital antics, and she hit 6 weeks today. Thank God because navigating that thing was getting to be a giant PITA.
