The nausea hit me pretty bad this week and I've either made my coffee cups smaller or drank no coffee at all. I've been going to bed early too, as a result.
I had an aversion to coffee once the nausea kicked in. Sometimes I could handle tea, but most of the time I went with soda when I had a headache until the aversion went away toward the middle of the second tri.
I drank whatever I could stomach. Second time around it was fountain dr. pepper or barq's. I only sipped enough that I could stomach, usually only a few sips. But it was enough to quell the headaches.
I have a hard time with coffee during first tri. I actually drank a lot of regular coke, because it has caffeine and is kind of heavy, which helped to settle my stomach.

Is soda an option?
I have been substituting in Mountain Dew but i feel guilty. CHEMICALS
Also, do you have your first appt soon? Ask for Diclegis or Zofran.
I didn't think mine was "that bad" to ask for meds, but Diclegis made a big difference. (It's just Unisom +b6, but I think it's dosed out throughout the day. It helped more than OTC unisom + b6.)

Diet Mountain Dew ... that was what I did. Confession: I love it and drink one every day still. So far, my kids seem fine

I've found that if I wait until about an hour after a decent breakfast (and if I eat a snack with it) I can do coffee or hot tea without getting sick. If I try to drink it first thing (or even with my main breakfast) I feel like crap.

Barqs has caffeine? Mind = blown
That is why the advertising campaign was "Barq's has bite". Apparently Diet barq's and Barq's from the Coke Freestyle machines do not (I had to look up the wording of the add and found this out ).
I didn't know about the caffeine for a very long time.
cokes. specifically Dr Pepper for me. the carbonation helps with the icky stomach. I am so caffeine addicted that I get headaches by 9 or 10 am if I don't have caffeine.
although this is one of the reasons I am sooooo glad that coffee wasn't an aversion for me like it was for my sister. I love coffee in the mornings. I was usually good as long as I had a glass of milk before drinking coffee (had some weight/protein in my belly).
