So, when I went in to get C this morning, her pants were a little damp. I threw them in the hamper, changed her very-full diaper, and grabbed a pair of different PJ pants to throw on her. She lost her damn mind about putting on different pants. I tried leggings - no go. I asked her to pick a pair of pants and she got the damp ones out of the hamper. So, she had breakfast sans pants.
I went to work. DH just emailed me the following:
Pants remain an issue. Wrestled her into some when it was time to go. Had to stop at the store for the work pop on the way to drop Cass at your parents'. She repeatedly tried to take said pants off while sitting in the cart. She ended up with both legs crammed in to one side of the cart seat, pants half off, screaming, "No DaDa. Pants NOOOOOOOOO!" An elderly woman informed me that, "It is too cold for that baby's legs to be exposed." The rest of the morning went fine.
C has turned into a tiny militant La Leche League leader. He is constantly asking me if I've pumped milk and how much and loses his mind with happiness if he sees my pump. He's always telling me which side to nurse on and gets upset if I don't.
This morning I heard him singing "I LOVE BREASTMILK" over the monitor when he woke up.

Hysterical!
My favorite is trying to decipher "toddler speak" as she figures out her words. Last week she insisted she wanted to watch the movie with "the onions." It took me days to figure out she wanted to watch Despicable Me for the MINIONS. She watched a whole 10 minutes of that movie like a month ago. I have no idea how she remembered it.
Yesterday she wanted "cereal corn" for a snack. Went through the whole pantry - she wanted popcorn. I'm guessing it's cereal corn because we eat it in a bowl?
Oh clothes is going to become a thing for us too, I know it. I got B a Thomas sweatshirt because he is obsessed with trains. I was cooking yesterday and DH put him down for a nap. I go upstairs to take a nap myself and I hear B through the door saying "choo choo." He was talking to his sweatshirt. I let him wear it all weekend and he was so sad when he realized he wasn't wearing it today and also tried pulling it out of the hamper. I ended up finding a train shirt that's too small on him to put on under his fleece. Then he realized we didn't have time to play trains before school today and he moaned "choo choo!" as we passed his train table.
It snowed here over the weekend, and H took DS1 out to build a snowman. I sent out some supplies to decorate him when they were done: carrot, hat, etc. H said that DS1 REFUSED to put the hat on the snowman because he was scared he would come to life.
Every time E puts on her coat she asks for her hat. Ok fine, go get it. Except the other day we let her wear her fleece with a hood and she was so confused and kept saying "hat" even though we told her that her jacket already had a hat.
Her new favorite phrase is "sit DOWN!" The other night coming back from dinner she's in her seat and just keeps repeating "sit DOWN! sit DOWN!" My mom was dying laughing.
Yesterday ds1 required me to stand in the middle of the kitchen floor. He then lay down on the floor, drove his train back and forth over my feet and sang happy birthday to number 8.

A is just a insane in general. Today she asked for something to eat, then threw everything I offered her on the floor. And cried.
Then she would bring a book to me, whine, sit down for me to read it, then whine when I tried to read it, get another book, rinse and repeat.
Then she cried for seemingly no reason right before lunch. Still don't know what that's about.
Now she's down for a nap, but has figured out how to wiggle half out of her zippered onesie, so it's around her diaper and she's yelling at her stuffed elephant.

Omg no he didn't! He's clearly on his way to be the first male LLL leader lol.
This morning he cried from the moment I got him out of the crib until we got to daycare, except for maybe 5 minutes when the iPad was acceptable to him.
He dumped two bowls of Cheerios out in his rage throughout the morning, and when I took his coat off at daycare he starts crying and asking for Cheerios. Oh my god kid!!! His teacher laughed when I explained why he was crying.

A has a very clear way of telling me when she's had something to eat too many days in a row - she eats it, then lets it slowly dribble out of her mouth, half-chewed. They usually stick to her bib and slide down into the pocket, but not always.
On a much cuter note, she is VERY good at listening/doing when I say for her to sit down. Come here, not so much, but if I tell her to sit down, she's pretty good at doing it...for at least 5 seconds

DD will only wear her black patent shoes with bows. When I offer flowers, or boots, or pink shoes, she breaks down screaming BOWS BOWS BOOOOOWS!!!! Same child that looks like she should be in the cast of Annie because nothing lasts more than 2 seconds in her hair.

The past several days I have had to fish dog food out of DS's mouth. He finds this SOOOOO hilarious. He puts it in his mouth while grinning at me, then runs away. I wouldn't even mind except they are hard bigger pieces than normal dog food and I don't think he can chew them, so I worry about choking.
He is also so extremely particular about his "nack." We have to stand in front of the pantry and point out each and every option while he says "nuh uh, no, nuh uh, nuh uh." Then we start at the beginning and he picks one.
Oh clothes is going to become a thing for us too, I know it. I got B a Thomas sweatshirt because he is obsessed with trains. I was cooking yesterday and DH put him down for a nap. This is part of why I refuse to buy shirts with graphics lol. I mean no kid gets excited for another blue shirt right? lol.
Took E to the grocery store the other day while H was getting a haircut. Kid was a bit too enthusiastic and kept pushing the cart when I tried to stop to look at something, wanting to carry everything, rearrange where things were in the cart, etc. He was especially concerned with a block of cheese we were buying, and insisted on carrying it, putting it back in the cart, picking it up again... The whole thing took way longer than it should have as a result.
So when we got back to the car, I asked him if he was having a hard time being a listener. Response? "No, mama. I bein' a listener to the cheese!"

My ILs watch my girls on Wednesdays and often on the weekends. My FIL and DD2 (2yo) are best buds. He is always taking her places and I think they spend a fair about of time alone. She calls him Nonno (italian for Grandpa).
Last week, we were all together and something made a fart noise. DD2 started yelling: "Oh, toot! Nonno toot! Nonno toot!" She kept saying it. He turned bright red. Later he told DH "I guess I need to stop passing gas in front of her." I think he misses his little buddy who wasn't aware or couldn't tell on him!
An AW one:
I WAH, so I look like crap on a regular basis. 2 weeks ago, I was getting ready to go out on a "date" with DH. DD2 walks into my room, stops dead in her tracks, mouth falls open and she says: "Oh, momma PRETTY."
It almost made me cry, but then I realized I must look like absolute shit daily.
DD learned a new word this week. Poo poo. She said it repeatedly while I changed her (poopy) diaper this morning and then tried to scoop some up with her hands so as to really drive home her point
H and I are going to have to be careful using the words "out" and "outside" now. X loves outside. He put his hat on yesterday and stood at the door and kept saying "oweside, oweside" when I mentioned to H the dog needed to go out. H and I told him not yet, so he got his coat and yelled "acket" (jacket) about 42 times while we got him in his snowsuit, boots, and all the other winter gear.
We stayed outside approx 10 minutes before he had a meltdown over the snow shovel.
OMG. This is my life with C. We cannot even gesture towards the door or C will want to go outside!
Clearly, in my hugely PG state I have been bribing DS too much to ensure good behavior. For example, if we have a large Target run (so I don't want to chase him around the whole damn store), I tell him if he stays in the cart I'll buy him a Matchbox car. Or if he listens all day, he can have a treat after lunch. I'm just too pregnant to bicker with him all the time. Well this has come back to bite me IN THE ASS b/c now he expects a toy EVERY TIME we go to Target. When we darted in today to grab 3 things and I refused to buy him a toy, he FLIPPED OUT. Yelling, crying, flailing. I'm 37 weeks PG and he weighs 40 pounds, I had to football hold him over my hip and leave.
Another one who has a child who throws a huge fit when it comes to taking off his PJs.
Also he has now taken to screaming for 30-40 minutes a night after we put him down for bed for no reason. He has mastered the fake out as well. He will stop shrieking for a minute so you think he is done. Nope, he is back for more. Nothing hurts, his diaper is clean, we haven't changed his routine. It is stressing H and I out.
He does still have his cute moments though. H bought him a cape and every night when going to bed he says "good night cape".
