Ollie is having open heart surgery this morning and I am terrified.
Logically, I know he needs this. His is in heart failure. He has a hard time breathing, needs oxygen all the time now, and gets tired out so quickly.
But not my BABY! I don't want them to cut into him, break his chest bone, stop his heart, etc. NO, NO, NO. Plus, he has had such shit luck so far, I just keep worrying that it is going to continue.
Anyway, if you can spare some good thoughts today, he could really use them.
Update: Ollie is (finally) out of surgery and recovering. The repair to his heart went well, but he is struggling with breathing, so they may have to re-intubate him. Not terribly uncommon, but also not ideal.
Thank you all (@justdairy, that is how you do a "you all", lol) for the good thoughts.
Many good thoughts for Ollie's speedy and uneventful recovery, a calming presence for you, and that his doctors are able to apply all their knowledge to provide exemplary and compassionate care.
