Hugs, lots of hugs. I can only imagine how terrified you must have felt. I'm so glad she seems to be doing fine now, I pray that this was a one time thing, and I hope you're able to relax and have a much better day today.
I'm so sorry stingy. Have they ruled out the flu? I know there's something viral out there right now (DS has it, only symptom is fever) but I haven't heard of anyone popping a 105.5 fever with it. I hope you get some answers soon.
So sorry you are going through this! Mine have had fevers over 105 before and it's terrifying. My good friend has also been through the febrile seizure experience with her oldest and I know it was one of the worst nights of her life. Hope you get some answers soon. My DD2 was recently spiking high fevers for nearly a week and she never got diagnosed with anything--just "something viral," and it went away within a couple of days of visiting the ped.
It is so awful when they are sick. I hope you get some answers and a healthy kiddo soon.

I'm so sorry. The lack of concrete answers is really frustrating. When my DD had a febrile seizure, we never knew a real cause other than some kind of virus. My kids frequently have high fevers that spike pretty fast, but we've never had another seizure. Thoughts and prayers for you and your DD.

Sometimes kids get viruses and fever is the only symptom. My son ran a high fever for nearly two weeks; every test came back negative. For my son with febrile seizures we dosed him with tylenol and motrin, together, at any temp increase and then began alternating every two hours around the clock. He still had a fever but he never seized. Has the pedi recommended anything like that? Hang in there. Hope she gets better soon.
Stingyshark is it possible she has Roseola? E just had it a few weeks ago and the only symptom she had was a fever of 104.3 to 104.5 for about 3 days. With advil and tylenol alternating we could keep it at about 100 to 101. Then of course after the fever broke the rash showed up.
The pedi said she thought roseola and that it had been going around. We did a flu test which as negative and also a cbc that was normal but we didn't know for sure until the fever broke. I read that 10 to 15% of roseola cases have a febrile seizure because the fever comes on fast and is high, usually over 103.
