Still need to paint the coffee table, find window treatments & pillows and adjust the placement of the rug
Maybe a chair or ottoman in between the couch & boxes/fireplace ?
The sofa doesn't quite center on this wall but I'm not sure how to make that work.
Verdict: I don't hate it but I'm still having a hard time picturing the room coming together. The built ins will add some white but I'm not sure what else to do.
Just came home with a GREEN sofa & love seat. I like the color but I'm scared it is too much. He is so proud of himself for listening to what I said about using more color throughout the house and promised to exchange the covers if I hated it.
I like green and have used it throughout our house. The guest bedroom has a dark green rug, ivy print bedding (Dark green on a white background), white shams and deep purple accents (throw and lamp). My kitchen is an apple green and our bathrooms have green marble counters.
I actually love green sofas. Green goes with a lot. I get upset when my sofa choices are limited to shades of brown, gray, red and navy, lol. Much like cars these days.
FWIW, I have decorated with a lot of red and the green sofas go pretty well with that, I think. I used to have more sage green slipcovers, but when I wanted to replace them, the only choice was a darker green. But I like it.
We also have a chocolate rug in the living room now that matched the curtains. The dining room, which you can see through the archway, has red curtains with some gold accessories and chair cushions that are red/blue/gold/green, I think.
You could also go in a cool direction. I just have a real harvest/autumn/warm thing going on.
I'm not opposed to a new coffee table but it would have to be cheap since I would prefer to spend my living room decorating money on pillows, window treatments & art/decor.

The picture with the flowers on the mantel makes me think this has a lot of promise.
But I think the rug has to go. Yes, it's neutral, but I think you want something that either has some green in it or another color that really compliments it and the other fabrics you add.
