Yeah, these days you have to specify what Indiana nonsense you're talking about. Assuming you mean the religious freedom to discriminate bill, here you go:

::NERD ALERT:: Not sure if anyone is familiar with Drum Corps International (simplistically, it's professional marching band). Their headquarters are in Indy and Championships are held at Lucas Oil every year. DCI has tons of gay participants and people are ripshit-pissed about this. There's petitions floating around calling for DCI to remove its headquarters from Indy, which would suck because the city and the organization have worked so closely together for years, and kids are saying they won't march at all if DCI doesn't take some kind of stand. I have no idea if anything will happen, and I highly doubt kids will give up marching when push comes to shove, but I'd like to see some action from them.
Do they not think this will ever backfire on them? What happens if someone from as religion they don't like tries to invoke this?
Just wait until a Muslim tries to use this law to support something and see what happens. It's pretty obvious that the people who created it only want it to apply to Christians.

If i was a business owner i would do all kinds of stupid shit in the name of the law to show how dumb this is. My religion does not allow me to pay taxes. Sorry state!

Yes. I love marching band so much. My high school won USSBA class 3A national championship in 1999. Proud trumpeter here DCI was a big deal for my classmates, and several of us got heavily involved with them. And at least two of those several were super gay.

I was trying to find this and couldn't, but I remember George Takei talking about something that was a large conference that involved a lot of LGBT people when the bill was proposed last week. Maybe it was DCI. Regardless, there is already business backlash.

Oooh, statement from the CEO of Salesforce.com. Well done, dude.
Marc Benioff CEO, Salesforce.com
Today we are canceling all programs that require our customers & employees to travel to Indiana to face discrimination. "I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exhalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together." -- Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.
I didn't think it possible to make my home state of Arizona look good but thanks Indiana, Even Arizona's nut job governor was able to see all the money this bill would cost the state. I have friends in Indiana and one group is super pissed this passed the other doesn't understand how liberals can be so mean and call supporters of this law bigots. I shake my head at the second group.
The fact that he signed this bill into law in secrecy is just the icing on the cake with the stupidity that is his administration. Mike Pence is a coward and his decision NOT to veto this bill will hurt my home state for years.
He's still thinking about running for president, too.
My H is going to Gen Con this year and was happy to read about their protest, but apparently they wouldn't be leaving before 2020 due to the existing contracts in place. :/
I've gone every year for the last 11 years. Its a great con, and it's the people that make it great.
I would hate for it to have to find a new location because Indianapolis is such a great convention town.
However, I'd gladly pay more money and travel farther if it meant all of my friends were able to feel safe and welcome at the con. I was extremely proud of GenCon for speaking out against the bill. I hope Indiana repeals this, but if they don't repeal, I want GenCon to leave the state. 50 million in revenue is nothing to sneeze at.
I hate Pence so so much. This is going to be such a disaster. And the fact that he signed this in private shows he's a coward.
I do like how many businesses I've seen online post that they're open for business for everyone. Many are displaying stickers in their windows. It's not up yet but there's supposed to be a listing of businesses doing this so you know which ones to visit if you want to support them - www.openforservice.org/busniess-directory/
And fellow band geek here and I will be so sad if this doesn't get reversed and DCI leaves.
