Has anyone searched eBay yet to see what people are hawking these "good deals" for?
I get that Target just wants to sell and if that means customer #1 literally clears the racks then it is no skin off their back. But I do dislike that they are encouraging folks to make a profit off of their collaborations.
I wish they had had a limit. There were literally people with 30 items in their baskets. A limit of 5 or 10 would have been much better
There was supposed to be a limit of either 2 or 5 of the same item. But I doubt it was enforced.
I just wanted some of the drinking glasses and a cosmetic case but everything was sold out online and no way I'm going to Target in my area. I'm sure there was a line around the block.
It's resort-wear and something I associate with Florida and Martha's Vineyard.
Huge in atlanta too
What's funny is that for all the time I've spent in ATL, which over the years has been a great deal, I've never noticed, probably because bright colors are always the norm down there. I actually have stopped trying to clothing shop while in ATL because the colors just don't work for me up here.
I was going to say Alexander McQueen, but apparently there was a collection in 2009. Who knew... It did not seem to show any skull prints or a knockoff of the knuckle clutch that I still covet though, so I'm relieved. Lol.
I love the knuckle clutch.
I don't think there's anything that could get me to fight the target crazies, but then again my style is pretty classic (aka boring) and a plain navy blue top looks pretty much the same regardless of whether there's a designer name attached or not.
The only thing I saw floating around from the LP collection I liked were a couple scarves, but not enough to get excited over. It's not popular in this area and I only saw one person talking about it on fb and then Jen Lancaster and a couple people from different boards talking about it on twitter. So most people I know just don't care.
That said, I found the whole debacle interesting from a social media stand point. And I'm very glad I'm not the SM person for Target, though I totally feel their pain.
Target was going to get shit on for this no matter what they did. If everybody could get it, people would have been pissed. If a limited selection was available, of course people would be pissed. They got people in the stores either way, so in the long run they won.
I can't believe people are shocked that the site crashed. The site barely works when there aren't giant collabs going on. You get thousands of people accessing it at once, I mean duh!
One advantage to living in BFE is that I've usually been able to find pieces from all the Target collaborations in-store even if I don't go immediately upon opening. Sometimes I even go later in the week. DD1 totally scored today!
I keep feeling like I should want something from this line, but nothing is really jumping out at me. I mean, a lot of it's cute, but not "go to Target immediately" cute. I suppose I should be thankful most of it's just nms. lol

I'm also surprised people expected their website to be functional. Is always been sucky, and sucked even more after the last redesign they did. It's really puzzling for such a huge retailer.

I went to Target to see if they had anything! (No). I saw one lady chastise an employee for..wait for it..letting people buy out the collection to sell on Ebay!
Our Target this morning (BTW we had a tornado warning this morning. All these people did not care!)

Fuck Target and fuck Lilly. I am feeling bitter as hell about this and the last one in the fall. Release them in stores, all items , all stores. And more than one fucking rack of them, , you capitalist bags of assy shit.
I wish I had hit up the Alexander McQueen collection.
I actually got a fair bit of Lilly Pulitzer today. I was finally able to get a couple of things online around 7am, while waiting in line at Target, though none were my top choices (and of course I have to see what fits/looks good when it comes). I was third in line. It was surreal. I ran in, grabbed a few items. (It was like, "okay, there's something in my size, let's grab it, then look at it!") Then EVERYONE in line (probably 100 people) slowly swarmed in. I picked up 2 dresses, a shirt, a romper (which, on second thought, adults should not wear), and flip flops. Oh, and shorts, but then I realized I already ordered the shorts online, so I put them back. Then, lo and behold, someone had put back a swimsuit in my size. 5 minutes in and there were like 2 items hanging on the display, and one was that swimsuit, so I grabbed that, too.
Sadly, the arms are too tight on the dress I really loved. I'll see if it fits my mom. And if anyone wants a romper, I can hook you up. Otherwise, the other dress (the blue/white shift dress), the shirt, shoes and swimsuit are pretty good. I was actually impressed by the quality. The seams are strong and the fabric is nicer than I expected. Nicer than regular Target stuff.

We were told 3 of the same item. Which is still a shit-ton, since they probably only had 10ish of each item. And the clothing, plus accessories, plus home goods = 250 items in the collection. Plus, I know some people were buying 2 sizes to legitimately see which one would fit better, but in addition to that you could buy another... for what? Your friend? eBay?

I have no interest in names or labels. I'm sure some stuff would seem cute to me but the whole "hunt" for this is beyond me. I'm fine just looking in the regular section for items I like. I think I'm pretty much a failure of a girl. Just don't really care.
I got to target 3 minutes after opening this morning and all the LP was gone...
This was the line outside my store 5-10 minutes before it opened. It was like Black Friday. And I went to the store I knew would be LESS crowded than some others. There were a lot of people who left empty-handed.
I don't get why people buy the Target stuff on resell, a lot of the time you can buy the real stuff for the same price!
Well, for me it's because the Target collabos are many times the only chance those of us who wear plus sizes have to buy something from the brand because they normally don't sell anything in PS (like Lilly). I think it's crappy that Target only sells the PS stuff online anyhow, and of course that sells out immediately.
I am not a huge LP person, but did see one tank and a dress I would wear. If I see it up for resale at not a totally ridiculous price, I will probably buy it because buying the real line isn't an option for me.
