I don't know if I am giving them too much credit. But I was thinking maybe the K's didn't participate to avoid diluting his story with theirs, to avoid any chance that Bruce's voice wouldn't be heard as clearly as possible?
I would like to believe this is the case. By not having the K family hoopla in this episode it did make it much more honest.

Wouldn't that be nice ? But from a media perspective let's be real and say that this story is "big" bc of the intersection with the kardashians. It might have warranted a special if he was just "Bruce Jenner the super star athlete" and Not a kardashian, but not this amount of hoopla. I would be shocked if they weren't asked to comment, but it may be something he didn't want. I can't see diane sawyer leaving that hole open on her own.
He proved he was dumber than a box of rocks years ago (I mean, I really think he is stupid) but this is ignorant and SO rude and insensitive and plain unkind. They're happier than you that you got out when you did, Kris! Fucking asshole.

I was thinking this as well. If the K's were featured more the story would be how they feel about it instead of the story focusing on Bruce's journey. I would like to think the K's can recognize this.
They have also known well before this interview aired and could have spilled the beans.
Lol that the Kardashians didn't comment in order to give the show integrity. Lololololol. Cue their own special, about their perspective and how they've been so misunderstood. Cue more ratings.
The truth is that Kris or Kim could have sold him up the river years ago and they didn't, so good for them for that, but lets not be totally naive and think that they aren't waiting for the right moment to cash in.
I don't even think it's because they have souls, I think she probably just has more dirt on Kim and Kris than they do on her.
At first when I read Humphries' tweet I thought with the hashtag he was condemning the Kardashians for not supporting Bruce or pushing him not to be himself... And supporting Bruce with the hashtag... But maybe I was wrong. That guy seems like an asshole so that's probably not it.
Based on the whole interview I felt like he said that from a very young age he identified more as a woman than a man, especially since he started hormone replacement in the 1980's. Maybe we're talking about different parts of the interview.
No, I definitely get that he pretty much always knew he was a woman. I just felt like when it came to telling kris, he said he didn't want to hurt her, so he basically skirted the full issue and frames it as cross-dressing. Although PP do make sense wrt the timeline of hormones...so maybe I just wasn't paying full attention, lol
You are right. He said he had to explain his breasts to Kris and downplayed it by saying he liked cross-dressing. I think he didn't confess his true feelings until much later, though I don't remember if he said when that was during the interview. It seems like Kim first saw him cross-dressing years ago but only brought it back up when tabloids started discussing it in the past couple of years.
I am glad the Kardashians weren't involved because I think it would have taken away from Bruce's moment, though I wonder if that was their decision (to save it for their own show), Bruce's, or Diane's, since her disdain for the family and the show was evident. I do think it would have been nice if they had all issued comments like Kendall and Kylie and the other wives did, although I also think those can sometimes come across as trite and disingenuous. Since last night, Kim posted two shots of her and Bruce on IG with supportive comments, Khloe posted a shot of Bruce with just a heart as a comment, and Rob tweeted his support and love. Kris probably should have held off on her f--- you comment.

I keep coming back to this too. These are people who more or less have forgotten how to breathe unless there's a camera present; you mean to tell me that not one of his four step children nor his wife had the opportunity to put themselves aside for a moment to sit down for a few comments of support before this aired? Even though this was taped months ago, and DS was able to add in a note about his recent car accident? I don't buy it. Yet somehow they are able to get a quote from Kendall and Kylie, his other wives, his four older biological children, his sister and his mother (which--class acts, all of them)? I think this makes Kris and the 4 Kardashian kids look terrible.
Kris is calculating, I'm sure she didn't not comment without putting some thought into it.
At the same time, Kim and Khloe have both been quietly but publicly supportive of Bruce during this time. Even without comments from them, I feel like their actions show that they truly do support him more than a trite, canned comment would.
And I can imagine as a wife working through the concept of my H feeling, deep down, that he is really a woman. That can't be easy and I assume she's been through a lot to process all of this. Just because she knew he had these feelings that doesn't equal coming out and saying "honey, I want to transition into my real self".
I don't just imagine this I live it, and it is the biggest challenge not just in my marriage, but in my life. There are no right or wrong answers here, and no matter what the public opinion of Kris is, my heart goes out to her.
And LOL at the idea that ABC News did not ask Kris Jenner for a comment. ESPECIALLY when they are up the Kardashians ass all the time on Good Morning America.

This could be possible but I'm skeptical because the Kardashians haven't commented. If they had, and it wasn't supportive, then this interpretation would make sense. The more I think about it, the tweet and the hashtag are incongruous so maybe you are right.
I don't really care what any of the Kardashians/Jenners do most of the time. I like my fair share of celeb gossip, but this whole clan just doesn't do it for me.
However, I think his story is inspiring and I'm glad that he's taking steps to live an authentic life.
The Kardashians are brilliant. In the wake of Bruce's interview, people are STILL mostly focused on what the Kardashians think about it or are saying about it.
I never thought of this and now I'm ashamed of myself (wilted) the focus should stay on Bruce
It warms my heart to see Brandon say that he's getting an upgraded version of dad. I love seeing the kids come through for Bruce.
Brody posted a picture of him and Bruce on Instagram after the interview aired with a caption that said "You won another gold tonight. I stand with you on this journey. I love you dad."
That made me tear up a little. Bruce has some awesome kids.
