1. How far along are you this week? 31w5d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? We had our out of state baby shower Saturday it was really casual and slightly awkward since it was all my husbands family who I barely know. Our big at home shower is Sunday and I can't wait! My sister and mom are flying up Friday to stay with us and help out. I am still in shock that this baby shower is actually for us and its 6 days away so cool!
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? My parents are snowbirds and will be here for about 6 months helping out. Luckily they have their own place though. We may also hire a postpartum doula or nanny for a little extra help since my DH can't really take time off and is on call frequently overnights and weekends. Im sure my sister and in-laws will also come from out of state but they will only stay for a week or so at most.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? We tend to go to restaurants all the time. We really need to start branching out and doing more actual activities and sightseeing type dates.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week?
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling?
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night?
1. 18w4d
2. Not pregnancy-related, but today's my birthday! I plan to enjoy a super fancy non-alcoholic beverage at dinner tonight. In pregnancy-related news, my amnio is tomorrow and I am anxious for the confirmation that all is well.
3. Not sure yet. Most of our immediate family members live within an hour from us, so that's great for us. My mom was very helpful staying with us for a few days right after DH went back to work (when DD was a week old), but we were in a small apartment and things were kinda cramped. Still, it was worth it because I EPed that first week due to DD being unable to latch and when DH was at work, it was wonderful having my mom there to take care of DD while I pumped, and both DH and I got some much-needed sleep with my mom around too. We live in a bigger home now so we wouldn't be cramped if my mom or anyone else came to stay with us, but we'll make firmer decisions as we get closer to my due date. We are very fortunate to have local, HELPFUL!!! family members around.
4. DH and I are both huge sports fans so we love attending games (mainly hockey and football, we have season tickets for our local teams although we sell most of the tickets each season and pick the ones that work best with our schedules). It's fun to have a pregame dinner and drinks and then head to the game.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Feeling great. Seating on a plane right now on my way to Phoenix for work for the week.
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? My parents are staying with us for a month. They live abroad. I'm really happy that they will be here.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? We love trying new restaurants. There's so many choices around us!
1. How far along are you this week? 19 weeks today! I can't believe I'm almost halfway! 2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I am back in Chicago for work and it's amazing how much harder each trip gets. While I feel good and am no longer sick, I'm just very very tired. After this I inly have three more work trips plus our vacation in Hawaii then NO TRAVEL from June 15 till 2016. Yay! 3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? Our families are both within 2 hours and would be willing to help but I am going to make a game day decision on that. Right now I feel like I don't want people to stay over for a bit but I am definitely reserving the right to change my mind in the moment. 4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? We like to walk to local restaurants in our neighborhood. Another favorite is the superlux movie theater with full recliners, wait staff, and full menu/bar. It's the ONLY way to see a movie in theaters.
2. I have a vent. Last night was our night to tell MIL & FIL about the baby. MIL's birthday is this week, so we made plans just with them to take them out to dinner. We got a bouquet of flowers, and put an ultrasound pic in the card. It said "Happy birthday Grammy! Baby Derkins, due 11/21/2015" (Grammy is what her other grandkids call her.)
BIL invited himself and his family along to dinner. I like them and all, but their kids are 3 and almost-5, and when we have family dinners (all 8 of us) the 3 and 5 year old dominate the scene. Nobody can finish a sentence. We specifically made separate plans with just MIL & FIL because for this particular occasion we really preferred less chaos and more sentence-finishing. We can do "all 8 of us" dinner any other time.
We got there first, then MIL/FIL. MIL was opening our (other present) when BIL arrived w/ kids; the flowers were on the table. After BIL sat down, Calvin handed MIL the card out of the flowers (so we could get it out there before the drinks order, lol). She opened it, turns to BIL, and goes all "oh REALLY? CONGRATULATIONS." He wasn't paying attention because the kids needed his attention, so she says it again. Calvin doesn't say anything so finally I'm like... "No, it's us." Awkward. Then BIL tells MIL he's known for a couple weeks. Calvin only told his brother in advance because we didn't plan on them being there for it.
Womp, womp. After as much effort and planning as I put into the evening, I was really bummed with how it went. I mean, they were excited and all, but it was so frustrating, as a total introvert, to plan an important thing weeks in advance on terms I was comfortable with, and have it turn into something totally different at the last minute.
I've been feeling good for the past week. My appetite is completely back and no nausea anymore. Woohoo!
Probably not right away. I'm due the beginning of Nov, but my parents are talking about flying out to spend 2 weeks with us around Christmas time. They'll be traveling, obviously.
We found a neat local restaurant with amazing food. It's a little hole in the wall place and a little in the more expensive side, but so good! But I love going there for a date night every once in awhile.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I have my 13 week OB apt today. I'm finally getting my energy back and the nausea has subsided. Now I just gag every time I brush my teeth but I'll take that any day over vomiting!
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? Probably not. My family/friends live at least 35-40 mins away. My DH plans to take some time off of work after the baby is born.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? It's been so long since we had a date night. I guess dinners out would be our favorite. Sometimes we hit the casino afterwards.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I can't think of anything. My brain is mush this morning.
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? "Helping" or just visiting? Ha. Both of DH's brothers and spouses will be coming in town from out of state around my due date. Whether or not the baby is actually here yet is another story I guess. My mom is ~15 minutes away and my MIL is ~1 hour away (although I could probably do without her "help").I also have girlfriends who are promising to come over and let me shower in peace
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? We are pretty boring so it's usually just dinner.

Happy birthday, Velar Fricative! And Susie, I'm sorry it didn't go as planned with your inlaws. Hopefully, they are still at least excited about the baby. If it helps, it WAS an excellent plan.
1. How far along are you this week? 32 weeks
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I am starting to really be over this whole pregnant thing. It also really needs to be flip flop season here, because I cannot bend over and tie my shoes anymore without wanting to die, heh.
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? My mother thinks she's going to stay with us, but it's not going to happen. My husband and I both would like a few days to try and figure things out without interference. She lives close enough that coming by for an afternoon or something isn't impossible, but we haven't had that conversation officially yet. Also, my husband isn't working currently and will be home full-time with the baby, so I am really lucky that I'm not up against him having to rush back to work.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? Usually out to an earlier dinner and then home to watch a movie. (And drink a bottle of wine, pre-pregnancy.) We're both introverts, so good dinner and a quiet night at home is perfect for us.
2.) I had a lot blood in my urine yesterday. I was freaking out because at first I wasn't sure where it was coming from. Then I passed a kidney stone, completely painless, thank God. I called the on call doc anyway, because they were adamant about ANY blood you call. Who knows, could've been a bad kidney infection. Those aren't safe for baby either. She just laughed at me. Look lady, sorry I interrupted your Sunday, but your policy is to call if we see blood anywhere "down there" including the bladder. And yes, I am an adult who knows the difference between her vagina and urethra. I can't wait to be done with this practice. Now I have to make an appointment with my urologist. Joy.
AW. I love feeling the baby move around. I am sure that will get annoying. But for now it's awesome. :-)
3.) Mil will probably be here. Knowing her. My dad and sister are teachers, so they won't be able to make it out right away.
4.) Going into the city and checking out new bars and restaurants , then catching a show. I miss those dates.
2. They sent me for an ultrasound before I left for vacation at the end of last week to make sure the pregnancy was not in my tube. It wasn't, hooray! And they're letting me keep the ultrasound appt. on the Monday we get back from vaca so we can hear the heart beat. I'm pretty excited for that one.
3. Our parents are local so they'll be around to help. I think my mom would take a week of of work once DH goes back to help me, but she would not sleep over.
4. We mostly go to dinner and then walk the mall. We don't usually by anything though.

1. How far along are you this week? 35 weeks tomorrow
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm all mushy about my friends this week. There's a small group of us from my son's first daycare/preschool that still get together despite the fact none of the kids go to school together any more. One of the women just contacted me about throwing a brunch/bbq for me (depending on weather) so we can all get together before the baby is born.
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? "Helpful" is relative. My MIL will be staying with us, but she's more work than help. Which means we will be taking care of a newborn, a 3 year old, and a 70 something. Because of that, my mom may get a hotel room to help with the 3 year old.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? Pre-kid it used to be the movies. Now because of the cost of movies and the cost of babysitting that gets to be a really expensive date, so we usually just do dinner (less time = less babysitting!).
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I finally caught DH's virus after avoiding him for two weeks. I am grateful since this is the first time I have been sick this entire winter, but pissed since things are quite busy at work and my throat is killing me. I went to the doctor's to verify it wasn't strep throat (we are both carriers), and it isn't, but the doctor gave me a pretty limited list of things that I can take to battle it. I feel like I've been surviving off of hot water with lemon and honey for days.
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? DH will be home for about 2 weeks I think, but will probably be going back and forth to work occasionally. All of my family is local and my IL's are retired. MIL has already offered to come over and clean and do laundry, etc. My sister is also planning on taking off a couple of days. My step-Mom is a home daycare provider and a baby genius so I also intend to spend a few days at her place once I can get up and around. She's only a 20 minute drive away.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? We rarely go to the same place twice in town. If we have a weekend afternoon we sometimes drive to a town about 1.5 hours away to window shop and go to our favourite sushi restaurant. It's where I went to university and is 100% worth the trip. we also like to chat and catch up during the drive.
1. How far along are you this week? 34 weeks on Wed.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I twisted my ankle badly last Tues and it still wakes me up at night with pain and is still swollen. X rays showed no fracture so I just have to endure it. Last night my hips started to ache for the first time this pregnancy too so I had a shitty sleep.
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? My mom will help me when she can. DS1 will be in nursery school 3x a week but if I have an appointment on a day when he's home she will try to assist me. I know I'm going to need lots of help from the LC again so I'll need my mom to watch DS1 on those days for sure.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? Ha! We haven't had a date night since our anniversary in Nov. We're home bound for dates so if it's nice enough that we can have a drink in the backyard when DS1 is asleep that is considered a real treat to us.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I have a cold. I'm having a little trouble breathing too. I have asthma that is controlled and never really bad, but this weekend I really thought I needed to hit the ER for some oxygen or something. And the rib pain is awful. It's just this tight burning feeling, almost like there is a tight rubber band above my ribs. Oh and I'm waiting for my 3 hr glucose test results to come back.
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? Not really. My sisters live a couple hours away. My MIL might come by for day visits. Maybe I'll get a shower and power nap out of it.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? Concerts/Tailgating and favorite bar afterward.

1. How far along are you this week? 37+1. Gulp!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I think the baby has definitely dropped some. My normally very high bump is visibly lower - H noticed it today as did a coworker. I guess that's progress! I have my first cervical check on Wed. morning, curious to see what's happening down there, if anything.
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? I know my mom is planning on taking some time off from work to come stay for a bit. We haven't discussed the details as to when or how long. She lives about an hour away by car.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? Hmmm no particular place I guess. I'm just looking forward to a date night when I can have some DRINKS! We love going to Sox games/concerts etc. We have tickets to Jason Aldean & Kenny Chesney in August, I can't wait for tailgaiting and fun, and it's only 3 miles from our house!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? baby shower this coming Saturday!!! yay!!! I also spent too much money this week on more maternity clothes, especially lightweight capri pants for the summer. I think I'm taking some of it back. AW: I am now a certified car seat tech!! whoop whoop!
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? my mom is coming for a week after the birth. she has to travel but she's only about an hour and a half away. she'll stay with us. my MIL will probably help at some point during ML as well. DH just got clarification on his leave after having a baby, and it's fairly generous. they'll allow him to work from home as well, so I'm hoping he'll be very helpful.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? DH likes On the Border, I like Pappasito's (Houston-based Mexican chain, there isn't one local to here though ) or a local Italian place.
1. How far along are you this week? 6 w 2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? We have the viability scan today. I am nervous. FX for a heartbeat. 3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? My parents are local. They will definitely be helping 4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? A nice dinner.

1. How far along are you this week? 34w1d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Today is day #12 in the hospital. I had some visitors over the weekend so that helped keep my spirits up, but it's really hard not to be home with my husband, sleep in my own bed, and see my dog. Not sure how I'm going to do this for another 3 weeks or so.
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? I'm hoping DH's mother will come over from Canada. It's only about a 30 minute drive (assuming there's not a big line up at the border).
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? Probably a comedy show. We love to laugh.

Ugh, that is so frustrating. I absolutely hate it when people invite themselves into special events.
Can I come in and intro? I'm cautiously optimistic with the pregnancy being this early...but excited to get to know everyone
1. How far along are you this week? Brand new I'm just about 2.5 weeks.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Digital confirmation this morning My first appointment isn't until June 5th. I understand why...but it still gives me the crazies LOL
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling? My parents will want to come up. Not sure about his. We'll see
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? We like the movies:)
(For anyone who doesn't know me from GetP or WC, I stink at typing too quickly and not proofreading before I submit. Please disregard my typos.)

Susie I would be so annoyed too! We had a similar disappointment when we told FIL. We had him over for dinner on his bday and we also put an U/S pic in his card. HIS reaction was very cute....then his bitch wife informed us that H's brother had already told them. I don't know who I was more annoyed at, my big mouth BIL or FILs bitch wife for not just playing along like FIL was going to.
2. Had my weekly checkup this morning, all looks well. I was apparently having a Braxton Hicks contraction while the dr was listening for the heartbeat. I had no idea! He assured me that real labor will be much more noticeable lol.
3. Both my mom and MIL live locally, so they're going to help a lot.
4. I have not had interest in date night in months lol, normally we'd go out to eat. But these days I prefer staying home.
This has been me. I've had to force myself to plan a few nights out because I realize it's not fair to H. I also encourage him to do stuff on his own, go golfing etc. He shouldn't have to suffer because I feel like being a homebody all the time lately.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? It is freaking me out that people keep saying I could go "any day now!". No signs yet. After my freak out last week about decreased movement, my OB scheduled a NST and US for this week. I know she's being cautious and it is a good idea, but it is just hard doing all these appointments during the work week. Sigh. I can't wait to be done with work.
Also my feet are SO swollen!!! They hurt so much. Dr. says it is normal and doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it, but I'm sick of having Flinstone feet and not being able to get shoes on. I wish it would warm up so I can just wear flip flops.
3. Will you have anyone helping you out after the baby is born aside from your DH? Are they local or will they be traveling?
My sister is close by and will probably try to come out for the delivery and a few days after. Then my parents will likely fly up from FL. I think they'll be helpful, I'm hoping it won't be tough having house guests.
4. What is your favorite place to go on a date night? Our dates are usually dinners out. I've been feeling so crappy, we haven't gone out in a while. But this Sat we went into the city and used a GC my SIL gave us for Xmas for a new restaurant. It was great we had such a fun time! I'm really glad we were able to get out and use it up before the baby. Maybe we'll try to get out a few more times before baby gets here.
Susie: Sorry your BIL ruined your moment. My in laws were the only ones we got to tell in person and H was *so* excited. They responded very strangely and actually kept changing hte subject, very clearly didn't want to talk about it. It was so awkward, i felt really bad for H. Turns out they are super traditional and in their culture, talking too much about a baby before they are born is considered bad luck or something. They came around and are definitely excited, but that first dinner was super awkward. Hopefully you'll have lots of happy moments coming up that will help erase that memory.
