I highly recommend the Stiegl radler if you like the grapefruit shandy.
DH just got home from a 24 hr business trip. I bought $200 worth of perennials today, I should really plant them but I'm probably just going to have a beer once I get the baby to bed.
Oh and we canceled our flood insurance and just got a nice big escrow refund check! Woot!
Before anyone freaks we don't have to have it, in seven years the area hasn't flooded at all and due to government regulations the price keeps creeping up and up. I fully support being properly insured for your situation.

I am now super annoyed that I found grapefruit shandy right before my BFP. I would have had a better sober summer not knowing how delicious it was!
Confirmation at the doc today that I am pregnant. Unfortunately the tech who took my blood to check my thyroid level (the reason I went in so soon) suuuuuucked. I already have a giant bruise where she poked me.
Also, C has a GIANT fat lip from getting hit by a swing at daycare. My poor little guy would only eat yogurt for dinner, I think because everything else hurt. Even his gum is bruised.

What flood zone are you in?
Our lot is an X. We are considered coastal and the creek behind our house looks like a huge river on the map, lol. But since our house is not in the flood area we don't have to have it.
DD had a blowout at daycare and I hadn't brought a new backup outfit to keep there (she blew out last week and used the spare clothes then) so my daycare lady put my 23 pound 2.5 year old in her 8 year old daughter's pajama shorts and tshirt. Somehow the shorts stayed up and on but barely. Oops.
DD has been playing outside since we got home at 4. We came in to eat and then right back outside. She better crash at bedtime!
we are good. We are across the street eating pizza with my neighbor. Most of the activity is north of us. We will see how the evening progresses. Thanks for asking.
I am glued to the local news and so saddened by the current events in my city (Baltimore). It's just heartbreaking. Every aspect of what's going on. I can't think of a better word to use to describe it.
I just ate a big piece of Costco cake and am feeling a bit ill. :/ Blergh.
I actually cooked dinner tonight! I scorched part of it on the stove but did not set the smoke alarm off like I did last time I attempted to cook. Winning!
I hate being sick. Being sick while pregnant is the worst. I felt like I was not sick today in that my energy level was fairly high, but I've been coughing a lot, all day. This is at least the fourth day of coughing like this. Cough syrup and cough drops don't seem to be doing much for me. Anyone have any tips on reducing coughing?

On the way home from picking the kids up they said they didn't want to go home and wanted to go to a park instead. I'm more than happy to be indulging them! I get to sit on a bench while they run out more energy, sure, why not?!?!

swizz that sucks. My allergist wanted me to try them but I couldn't commit the time to it. I'm on daily Zyrtec and nasonex now, and that seems to do the trick for me. I didn't have any allergies last year after L was born but sadly they seem to have come back this year. I haven't been able to tear away from the news tonight either. My commute takes me right through the worst of the areas being shown and I hear there is vandalism in my office's neighborhood. It makes me so sad.

Zone X (same as c) is outside of the 500 year zone so you're good, enjoy your saving! I'm a former insurance underwriter and I wrote flood all the time (well commercial property and excess flood DIC). It's a lot more financially risky than a lot of people realize so I can't help but pipe up.
We pulled the trigger and bought our house plans today! Our home inspection was also today and I hope there were no issues. Next step is land. We have it narrowed down to a couple But I'm having a hard time deciding on the site of our forever home. it's so final and concrete and I am so indecisive.
I forgot I had dinner plans with my friend today so I was super late and a little sad to be missing bedtime. Mommy guilt!
I wish my husband was one of those men concerned about their pregnant wife getting toxoplasmosis. He does a lot around the house that I don't do so I can't complain much but OMG can you please just do the cat box once?
I should be folding laundry but I'm just going to take it easy instead.
