We were sitting in McD eating just now in a poorer area. We were the only ones there besides workers. A man walked in and yelled "everyone out and give me all your money". DH and I froze. No one did anything. Apparently he's a friend of the workers and it was a joke. People suck.
edit: Second stage of update... I'm going to have a shitton more free time in the fall, and should be to a weight where I'll feel good about adding a more serious workout regime.
I'm thinking of training for a 5K... that it'd be a good goal, to be able to complete one at the age of 47 when doing one at 37 or even 27 would have been completely out of the question.
Anybody do Couch to 5K? Like it, don't... comments, thoughts?
Any hints/tips/websites I should look into to get started?
Couch to 5K is great! It's what I used to get started running.
Today I realized I still haven't figured out a way to display our US flag on our house. The front of the house is brick and I refuse to drill into it, but we also have no porch or posts to install it.
This shouldn't be so difficult. I'm probably being picky.

My mom broke her ankle yesterday. She was running after my cousin to tag her with the ball, and tripped on even ground. She swore she just twisted it, but it must have felt worse today, because she went to an urgent care center for an x-ray.

SirusXM has the dumbest business model ever. And yes, I know I could have finagled an even lower rate out of them but really my head aches and I just wanted to be done. I know we have this conversation regularly.
Found out this weekend that according to my MIL I am just a "lazy free-loader" who has a "good thing going" and I take advantage of my husband. Oh and he should have left me long ago and it's still not too late for him to get out of our marriage.
And no, she has NEVER in the history of my relationship with DH (ten years now) indicated anything like this before. #BEC

What? How did you find this out? Don't tell me she actually said that to your face. Although hearing it second hand doesn't suck any less.

Oh, FUCK her. That is some straight up bullshit right there.
I'll let you know when I'm coming to Atx and we can egg her house.

She told it to DH when she came in to watch DD's recital. He shut her down pretty fast but he was stunned so she kind of went off before he was all "Whatthemutherfuck, yo!?!" Of course he told me. She thinks he and I have communication issues.

Glad your H shut it down but I'm sorry your MiL has turned into a nasty hosebeast.

Today is my birthday and it's been good, but only because I made it that way. We are going on a cruise in 2 weeks that DH paid for, so apparently he thinks that gives him a pass to do nothing for my birthday. He took me to lunch. Then we went shopping for his students' graduation presents, I cooked dinner, I went out and got myself a dessert (because I didn't want a cake sitting around to be eaten. Not that he offered or anything.) I spent the afternoon by myself by the pool, which is fine. But now he's being a grumpy douchebag. If effort is too much to ask, how about a little pleasantness??
