Nap 1 without pacifier was a success! She doesn't stay in the crib as long after she wakes, but I'm so glad she doesn't seem to need it anymore. One of her front teeth moved and I knew it had to go.
Tonight, I'm going to start reading over my last NaNo novel and do some small edits, so I can get a couple free copies.
My baby (two months old on Monday) has outgrown all his three-month sleepers. I had such an extensive wardrobe for him in three months and I am not ready to be done with it! But I went on a Gymboree shopping spree today and got him 14 items for $84. Not bad!
Also I went to immediate care for the suspected UTI and the test was negative. Now I have to go back to the OB to test for other kinds of infections...but that is three days away and I HURT.

We had a small BBQ with friends and their daughter who is 6 months older than ds. They had a great time playing together! He was worn out and passed right out as soon as they left. She brought a doughnut to share with him for dessert. True love!
I'm looking forward to the rest of the night on the couch with bad tv. My allergies are so bad, I can't stop sneezing.
I am in the bath. I had no Epsom salts so I used sea salts instead. Hoping it will reduce some of my discomfort. My feet have also swollen over the past two days, which is unfortunate.
We got home on Wednesday and tomorrow will be the first time we will have had no guests over. In four days we have had MIL, FIL, SIL, SIL, BIL, nephew one, nephew two, GGM, BFF and husband, close friends 1,2 and 3, newborn photographer. I am toast, lol. I can't wait to just be alone with my family.
One of H's friends posted a judgy thing on fb about a woman buying 5 lbs of butter at the grocery store. Is it just me or is that not actually an insane amount, especially if you were stocking up and freezing it for later?
Mmm, butter.
Not an insane amount. Especially if it's on sale. Butter's not cheap. I always stock up when it's on sale.
The party was a huge success! We have soooo much food left! A weeks worth of lunches (bbq pork, mashed potatoes, green beans), I have 3lbs of BBQ pulled pork in the freezer for dinners, there is a whole recipes worth of Mac&Cheese, plus chips & dip, most of a veggie tray and 1/2 a Costco cake....Plus I'll be returning a gallon of sweet tea, 48 beers, bottle of sweet tea vodka and a bottle of whiskey.
We have found several babysitters and mothers helpers too!

OMG when our Kroger was moving they marked down a ton of stuff and butter was one. I bought 3lbs to freeze. Because butter keeps going up!
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
DD is atmy mom's until after nap tomorrow. DH and I went out to dinner and then ice cream afterwards. Now we're home and deciding what to do next. It's a 50/50 feeling of 'ahhh DD isn't here I don't want to do anything' and 'DD isn't here let's go do EVERYTHING!' . We're lazy people though so doing nothing will probably win.
rugbywife are you lying down horizontally enough? I found my swollen feet didn't get better until I was lying flat - sitting in a recliner didn't help much. My mom swears by lying on your left side, lol.
Honestly, I haven't spent any time horizontal, period,lol...just getting into bed now, hope it helps.

I buy it at Costco and buy a number of pounds at a time. I freeze it though and it will last for a long time. I wonder how often I've been judged.

DH is making me a s'more.
I went to the mall after M went to bed in an attempt to get more summer shirts for work. I left with weekend attire and a bunch of clothes for M. Oops.
It's 8pm and my husband is snoring next to me. But heaven forbid I try to get the TV remote from him because he claims he's "awake and watching this!" Um...no.
Lol at 5lbs of butter being a huge amount. It's easy to go through a pound in a week if you're making baked goods for anything - one batch of cookies, one batch of brownies, and using it for cooking gets you pretty close, and I've certainly done that before. I buy butter at Costco and freeze, and sometimes it lasts forever and sometimes it gets used up in 2 months or less.
Doing the bedtime routine without the floor bed is hard. We all sat next to the crib which was fine for stories but then Ben wanted us to sit back down when we put him in the crib. We let him stay up til 9 so I'm hoping he sleeps in a little tomorrow.
Meanwhile DH took this photo during our photo session today. The photog told me not to smile so I look vaguely evil. Here's hoping the real pics are good.

We go through at least a half pound a week but don't bake. It is our go to cooking fat though.
We had to clean out Elijah's nose (his allergies are awful) before bed tonight. He was furious and crying and very dramatic, screaming out and fighting it. At one point he yelled, "Why Rikki, why?" We had no idea that he knew my first name. It was so funny.
We were out of the house almost all day for a baptism and then dinner with friends. Tomorrow we have to drive 3 hours to Pennsylvania. I just want to veg out and it's not going to happen.
Sigh. More rain and thunderstorms tonight, and apparently there's now a flash flood warning that includes my county. We've had a lot of rain lately so the ground is pretty soaked already. I'm slightly worried bexause our house is on the edge of a 100 year floodplain and we have a creek in our front yard. Also, the last time our creek flooded over our driveway bridge was when I was 8 months pregnant with DD. Why is it happening again when I'm 8 months pregnant with DS?! Fingers crossed the bridge doesn't flood too badly. At least it's concrete so there's no danger of it washing away, it's more that we'd be stuck on the property until the water level drops.
