Nightly. Though couple times a month he gets away without a bath. It's either a night we're all out late at the bookstore, grabbing ice cream, etc. and would rather come home and throw him right into bed, or when I have an evening obligation and am pressed for time. (I handle getting DS in/out of the tub, and DH usually comes in and plays with him while I run around and fold laundry or pack bags for the next day.)
Why do you wash your hair? I wash mine b/c it gets gross and dirty. She said she combs it with a wet comb, not that she rinses it. Months is a long time to not really wash a kids hair.
I wash my hair for personal comfort. I wash it daily and wish I was comfortable going days in between. To my knowledge, I have not been around hair that has not been washed in months, so I wanted to know the worst that would happen. People say it will stink, but MadamePresident is saying it doesn't. So besides that argument, what's the worst that would happen if someone went months without washing?
Dreadlocks? Dirty scalp? Dirty hat ? The thing you won't get is lice. They only like clean heads.
My kid got ice cream in her hair at dinner. So we do 6/7 days bath. My kid spends 40 minutes in there.

Daily for mine, we skip a day maybe once a week. DS1 basically looks like Pigpen by the end of the day. The boy loves dirt and we're outside every day nearly year round.

4-6 X a week. DS bathes on school nights as part of his bedtime routine. He hates having his hair washed. I make him wash it a least once a week. The other nights it gets rinsed in the bath.
C gets a bath as needed. Lately that's almost every night. She is a messy eater.
I have curly hair. DD1 has curly hair. Yes the texture does make it easy to go several days without washing, but even without a ton of sweat or getting stuff in it, it still starts to smell after a while.
I also use water to comb through my hair when I wear it curly and did so daily through high school and college. It definitely wasn't an adequate substitute for washing, and that was even in a very cool, overcast climate.
I just want to say I seriously love the way my kids' heads smell after they are shampooed and I've always washed their hair every day (use soap on their body every few days) mainly because I love to smell their shampooed heads while I snuggle them before bed lol. It's the best thing ever!
Eta: J's head also gets very sweaty and gross and the girls always put their food filled hands on their hair at least once a day. So there is that reason too. But the smell alone is worth it lol
Hey MadamePresident can you answer whether or not you rinse your toddler's hair? This is essential information for my Sunday night arguing.
I do rinse it every couple weeks, but she hates water on her head. She is pretty neat and rarely gets food in her hair. If that happens I clean it. Her hair is curly and I occasionally will use product in it.
Our family doctor also has curly hair. We were talking about it at Nods' 2 year check up, the doctor commented that curly hair didn't need to be washed.
I will add that I do wash the baby's hair much more frequently, since he gets so messy.

Wait, what? The child's head is only being wetted once or twice a month? I'm sorry but this, the Dude cannot abide.
Well, DS has my curly hair so I try to limit how often I wash it with shampoo (even though it smells so good omg). He likes to throw sand and put other gross stuff in his hair though so bath and wet the hair almost every night these days.
Bath daily. Wash hair every few days. DS used to fight us on the hair washing but now we let him wear swim goggles and he loves it. Actually asks to wash his hear.
The toddler gets bathed 5-6 times a week during summer, every other day in winter. He is like a fucking chinchilla and rolls around in any dirt and dust he can find.
The baby, meh. When H and I can't remember the last time he had a bath, that's when he gets one. He smells like unicorn farts anyway because he's tiny and cute.
DD gets a bath every other day. We have to do baths during the day because if we do them before bed it makes her wide awake, so if we don't get to it by 4 or 5pm we skip it and do it the next day. We wash hair with every bath. She has fine thin hair that starts to look a little greasy by the end of the second day.
Normally every other day, but with it being so hot we do it every day if needed. We thankfully haven't had a dry skin problem, but use regular baby lotion a couple times a week.
Bathtime is the BEST. I can almost 100% check out and GBCN, shop online, whatever. She'll go nuts in there by herself for basically forever without needing anything from me!
Oh and my kid is disgusting. Everyday in the summer (including hair).
ding ding ding!
This is why I love bath time. Well, more so when I just had T, its a lot less checking out now that the baby bathes with her and T has no comprehension of the fear of a drowning baby.
DD1 gets one every other day during the winter. Right now it's mostly every day, I would say 5 days on average. She is 5.
The baby gets one every 2 to 3 days, many times I stretch that to 4 though because I forget when she got bathed last.
Shower daily, except some Saturdays where we just stay home doing nothing. His showers are in the mornings though. I'd switch to nights if he looks dirty, but right now mornings work for us.
Almost every day in the summer, 3x/week in the winter, unless she is covered in paint from daycare. Are we the only ones that don't get dry skin in the summer? It's so humid it's not a problem. In the winter even a couple times a week causes dry skin.
I'm in TX where it's 90%+ humidity daily and DD is currently in the midst of an eczema breakout. Within 2-3 minutes of getting out of the bath she is scratching. She still gets a bath 2-3 times per week, but we have to use a layer of eczema lotion then a layer of acquaphor just to get to "not dry" with her skin.
