Today is my last full day here after 11 years (and 15 total in banking). I come in tomorrow to be audited and turn in my keys and then I will be a SAHM. I am so freaking excited!
So anyone have any banking questions, or anything specific to Ch.ase that I can answer? I have 9 hours to kill and literally nothing to do all day.

Chase is chapping my ass so hard regarding my mortgage application. I told my dad last night I want to set things aflame. When this is all over, a very strongly worded letter is coming. Sorry they are losing good people like you!
WHY do short sales take so long? My sister has had a contract on one since December.
And yay, that's so great for you!
I have never worked on the mortgage side of the bank, but from my experience in helping clients that are going through the process, it is like there still isn't a set process or protocol. Like each time is the first time it has ever been done. Trying to get ahold of the right department is frusterating, and everyone just shifts your from one person to another. Every other department is so streamlined and organized, but it is like there is no real sense of urgency to actually help people. I think this is true of most banks though, not just specific to mine.
My disclaimer is that this is my opinion and not the opinion of the actual bank

We go in waves - we want mortgages so we hire tons of loan officers and processors and then we don't so we lay them all off. We are in a "not focused on them" mode currently. It changes every 2-3 years. Very frustrating for clients and for branch staff that have to refer their clients to a loan officer. Our turn over is very very high right now, because it just isn't a focus, so the money isn't there to compensate them for their time. These people work insanely long hours and have to deal with multiple branches, bankers, and managers expecting different things from them. And of course that is on top of all their clients, realtors, and title companies that they deal with. Burn out here is high.
My last refi was the first mortage that I didn't take out here. And I get no closing costs, it just wasn't worth it.
This feels like a bad idea. But rock on, burn those bridges.
There is nothing that prevents us from answering non security questions in social media platforms as long as I do not make statements on behalf of the bank. So I am good. I could have done this years ago, but chose not too.
What is the largest and least amount of money you have seen anyone deposit?
In cash? I've seen people deposit just a few pennies to bring an account to zero to close it out.
My largest deposit was back in 2009ish when people were worried about the banks and bailouts. I had a customer withdraw 60K because they were nervous we were about to be owned by the government. They came back about a week later to deposit it because they were more nervous to have that much money at home.
I just have to say I have been really impressed with Chase as a "big bank" coming from a small bank atmosphere. I was convinced Chase was evil and have been very happy with the switch.
Do they still give away lollipops at the teller counter? I can't remember the last time I had to do a banking transaction at a teller window.
Wait, that's not true. It was three years ago. I don't recall if there were any lollipops. If there were, here is the order of preference for my flavor selection: green (lime), orange, pink (but only if it's either watermelon or strawberry, none of that cherry shit!!!)
What are your top flavor choices?
Not Chase, but Key has Dum Dums at their teller stations (at least mine does.) Seems highly appropriate, considering the interest amounts they pay on savings and CDs nowadays. So, if you're looking for a sucker (or to be one), hie yourself off to Key.

We have dum dums at my branch, some branches buy the generics and some do stickers. I prefer the strawberry lemonade ones. I throw out handfuls of rootbeer, butterscotch, and creme soda. No one wants those!

In contrast to Libellula, I hate Chase. =) A lot. Three years ago we switched to a credit union and I have never been happier with my banking experience in my life. Unless things change, I will never go back to a big bank.

Aww...that kind of makes me proud! It really is a great bank and they have great products. Not perfect by any means, but most of the bad stuff you here isn't at the branch level. Branch managers are really empowered to be able to help their customers without having to escalate. If you ever have an issue, I urge you to go in to your local branch and just talk to your manager. They are there to help!

You can send them to me. Please and thank you. ;-)

You can send them to me instead. Those are all my favorites. Your customers have no taste.
OMG, the brown ones (dum dums) are mine and the kids' favorites. All the brown flavors.
Then dig to the bottom of the bucket, and I bet you there are tons! And take as many as you want. People always feel like they have to justify taking more then one for some reason. Take 20, we don't care!

Yeah, unfortunately I hear this often. I know it is too late to help you, but in case a friend or anyone else out in GBCN land ever has an issue, please go talk to your branch manager in person. And if they can't/won't help the phrases "I will hire an attorney" or "I will go to the media" are game changers. Right now, if a customer says either of those the Branch Manager HAS to refer you to the Exe.cutive Off.ice. This is basically a team of people desgined to take care of complex issues right away before they escalate into tomorrows headlines.
