But wouldn't you agree that sending her somewhere else was better than the conditions at your parents' home?
I was so happy (and sad) when they found her a new home - with a family who already had a pack of huskies and acres and acres for them to run in. I loved that pup...no matter how many times she nipped me.
Well I hope they were on a motherfuckin leash!!!!!!!11111!!!

They weren't. I have no idea what actually happened to her.
I have seen fenced yards...and I have seen dogs say "YOU AIN'T SHIT" to those fences.
As a rule, you should not leave a working class dog alone in a yard. Ever.
Wait, what? Do you even enjoy life? With this line of thinking 1, the dog cannot be outside longer than their human is willing, and 2, the owner cannot become preoccupied with their children, gardening, grilling, etc and enjoy their time outside other to monitor the dog at all times, because otherwise what would be the difference to leaving the dog outside alone? Who wrote this rule book?! Apparently my beagle didn't come with one. But, he's a lowly blue collar, so perhaps only the white collar class comes complete with a manual.
ETA: I'm glad Friendly is home safe, st.pete!
You mean you've left your beagle unsupervised in a fenced yard!? What the hell is wrong with you?? It's amazing your dog is still alive!

Do they follow them around on a 4-wheeler? Because you just said a dog should never be left without supervision, even with acres and acres. Lol.

How do you even sleep at night?
It's hard sometimes ... it's one of the reasons I have to count all my pets and lock all my doors before I can ever go to sleep. Including the baby snails in my fish tank.

you don't know huskies then... they're pack animals - and when they're puppies with no other puppies to bond with they try to bond with the kids. Well, my parents had plenty of kids and not enough puppies. So I got nipped a lot trying to protect my younger brothers/sisters. But I loved that girl!

Where would the snails go? You are so ridiculous.
The question is not where they will go...they question is how quickly they will multiply.

I know, it's miraculous! Look, I never leave them (1 beagle, 1 lab, 1 husky wolf) out while we leave the house to go anywhere (I just bring them with and leave them in the car with the windows rolled up, of course), but damned if I'm dragging my 3 kids outside every time the dogs need to go out. Then I'd have mofongo in her CPS cape calling me in for leaving 3 children unattended in the house!

Actually, I do. But it has no bearing on what you said earlier.

I'm starting to have a feeling it has something to do with missing some back story...
I know I'm not the first person to recommend attending your pets when they're outside.
This has less to do with you missing backstory and more to do with jumping on TOTS' bandwagon, which makes you TOTS's equal. You clearly feel proud of your assholishness in this thread. Between the dogowner lambasting and the needing to have the last word, I mean. We get that you know about dawgs and all. You can stop talking any time now. Thanks.
I'm being completely honest...dog doors freak me out. I like being able to close up my house at the end of the day. I'm almost OCD about it.
I'm also being completely honest when I say I'm really glad Friendly is home and safe. I know you love him, and I know you've given him a loving - wonderful home. I'm glad he's home safe.
ETA: Anyone who's owned a freshwater aquarium will tell you that snails can be bad news. If the number gets too high... I have to start killing them (And believe me I will be writing my provider about it because these snails aren't supposed to be able to reproduce in freshwater.)
Exactly. If your intent is to persuade, you need to actually reach your audience. Implying they are dumb or don't care about their pet is not going to endear them to your point(s).
My intent was to interact on a message board... which I have successfully accomplished.
I think we're working from different definitions of "successful message board interaction."
