I was so tired last night that I didn't hear any of the storms.
Tempted to take DD to $1 movies today. Have to decide if the movie is "safe" enough for her.
What movie? If I'm concerned about a movie I want to take my girls to I check out the info on here www.kidsinmind.com . You can look up practically any movie and it breaks it down and describes any parts that may involve violence/language/sex etc.
Boxtrolls or Earth to Echo.
Thanks for the link! I usually go to imdb and see what it says, but that link is better. I think I am going to wait until next week for Paddington.
Guys, WTF with my 2yo's sleep? What is happening? He has been waking up every night or close to every night screaming. The waking has been happening for weeks now, but it's usually to ask for water or something dumb like adjusting his blankets. Annoying, but we're out of there in a second and even that had actually stopped recently. Now it's this screaming, often inconsolable, and I don't know wtf to do. It's not molars. Often he seems scared but can he be having nightmares this frequently?
I am so tired. This stuff seems to happen around 4-5am so I'm almost always up for the day because I know my alarm will go off soon - or the 50 million chirping birds outside my window are being assholes.
DS had something very similar around the same age. They were night terrors. He wasn't old enough to understand the word "scared", like the actual emotion. He just woke up screaming frequently. We spent a lot of time talking about being safe in his room, that we were right across the hall, etc. We also encouraged him to hug his lovey, and bought a nightlight. The night terrors stopped after a few months. But it took a long time.
I got hit with a stomach bug yesterday afternoon. This is gross, but I threw up 3 times while driving, and only one time did I have enough notice to actually pull over. Blech. I was sick all night, and every time the baby moved it hurt. And the BH contractions hurt. I'm sure it's all dehydration related since I couldn't keep anything down. I've been able to drink some water today, but I still feel pretty icky. Fortunately I'm WFH today anyway while I wait for the Verizon guy to come fix our internet, but I'd rather just crawl back into bed.
We're having 20+ people over for a grill out this evening and there's a chance of rain. I think my method of cleaning the playroom will involve throwing everything in bins and large trash bags and moving it to the basement. I hate toys.
Last nights storm was insane. So much lightening. It seriously looked like a photography line up, just constant flashing. There was one big clap of thunder (must was just rumbling) which sent DS running into our room. He jumped into the bed and buried his head in my armpit. Poor guy! I let him stay till the storm passed, and for one he wasn't horrible to sleep with. He did not kick me it was a miracle! lol. However, the storm kept me awake for an hour or so, so I am a bit tired.
It was so crazy. I was waiting for E to wake up screaming, but she slept through. Benefits of having a sound machine on all night I guess. I was up until 2ish though.
Yeah, we had a sound machine. No luck! I think it just caught him in a lighter sleep cycle lol. He also recently has become "afraid" of loud noises. So maybe that is part of it.
I'm a little annoyed at DH. I was 9 DPO last night and he insisted I not drink alcohol. I had a BFN and another this morning. His attitude makes me feel like an alcoholic or weak willed person but I just wanted a GD glass of wine
He's also annoying me on the BFing front b/c he thinks I should wean.
I was up every hour with DS last night. My Fitbit says I slept through at least half of the times that I know I was awake. It didn't even register me as restless - it says I was completely asleep. It's stupid, but I'm annoyed by this. I want credit for my crappy night of sleep, okay??
Just had an ultrasound. Baby is head down, measuring on track and my fluid is good still! Woo hoo! Headed to a farm/petting zoo thing with friends this morning.
I'm trying to convince H to go pick up Taylor ham, egg, & cheese sandwiches. "Hmm you know what we haven't had in a while? Taylor ham! With egg! On a bagel!" Then I'll be fine, lol. I don't have any meetings today, thank god.
Awww. This makes me homesick We call it pork roll though.
DD woke up in the MOTN last night and for some reason I brought her downstairs and put her in my bed. I have no idea why I did that. We pretty much never do that, we sit in her room if we have to but don't let her come into our bed MOTN. She seemed to sleep okay, though woke up early for her. No matter, though, because DH and I hardly slept at all. UGH.
Speaking of clothing, I'm in desperate need for some longer tanks to go under shirts, to help cover my still-giant post-preg belly. Any suggestions?
Because I am not 87 years old, I like the Liz Lange maternity tanks from Target. They're thick and long. (I'm 5'9.) I buy them even when I'm not pregnant. And, they're only like $12 and go on sale all the time.
We leave for vacation Friday and I have a cold. Shit.
Plus 1 meeting and 2 briefings today, where the 2nd one no one likes to read their email before shooting something off that's already been answered twice before.
What stores are targeted for a 30-something mom? Serious question. I feel like there are very few options in between Forever21 and Lands End, lol.
Loft?
Jcrew/JCF?
Agree with this. Also Banana Republic was my go to store pre-kids and remains that way since becoming a mom. A friend of mine swears by Talbot's and it always surprises me that she finds cute stuff there, but I've still never shopped at Talbot's.
I also have issues finding where to shop. I dont want to look like I am trying to look 20 or even 25, you know? but I also dont want to look the F word.
I do find a lot of stuff at Target but I'm not sure if I'm buying the stuff marketed for teenagers or not lolol.
I think pants are harder to find that dresses or shirts. I dont want "mom pants" (lol) but I also need something that can accommodate my post-baby belly.
I do like Loft but I really think their quality has gone significantly down hill.
I assume that the Mossimo stuff is meant for teenagers and the Merona for not teenagers. At least, that's what I tell myself, because I need a larger size in Mossimo, lol.
