matildasun I don't normally like Nordstrom but there is something to say about free hemming. Plus maybe you can just meet with a personal shopper. Find a couple pants and shirts you like and get them in different colors. Done in one stop and now going from place to place.
I think they would be fine. Plus free returns. I don't think their "low rise" is like a Forever 21 or teeny bopper place low rise. Does that make sense?
I have entered the Charley Horse pregnancy phase. My leg still hurts from one TWO nights ago.
Ugh! I had a horrible one last night that woke me up yelling in pain. And it's drill sore this morning.
@starry My OB had me take extra calcium and vitamin D and I think it helped with the calf cramps. That and not going to bed dehydrated (though of course it's a balance since you don't want to be up peeing a lot). Also, did you know that the fastest way to get a cramping calf to stop is to stand up and put your weight on it? I've had occasional calf cramps for much of my life and I didn't learn this until two years ago. Standing up is so much more effective than trying to massage it out and I think it minimizes the soreness afterwards.
Speaking of clothing, I'm in desperate need for some longer tanks to go under shirts, to help cover my still-giant post-preg belly. Any suggestions?
Costco has two packs that are very long and easily go under other shirts with little bulk but a nice amount of stretch to smooth. I wear one almost every day since having DS2.
So if Land's End is all old lady stuff, how about LLBean? I just got a gift card for LLBean (from my mother of course) and I'm debating what to get. I'm wanting to redo my wardrobe, since many of my clothes are poor quality and showing wear (mostly Target and Old Navy stuff). I'm really just looking for basics, I don't do fancy clothing, so I want nice fitted tees mainly. I also want to look grown up without looking old - I'm not even 30, but I have two kids.

1.5 more hours until my weekend begins. I'm excited for a few days to hang with the kids...but is it bad that I'm maybe more excited about having time to do things other than bottle/lunch/diaper bag prep each evening after they're in bed?
Yesterday when I was mowing I saw a small black snake (I think garter snake). Today we were playing out front and there is another snake (brown snake I think?). Both are dead, but come on.

I think you can find some decent pieces at LL Bean, just like at LE, as long as you are selective. I hear you about wanting to buy more "grown up" clothing. I am so over buying cheap, mass produced clothing at ON, Kohls and Target and having it fall apart within months. I have seriously curbed my shopping because I am so tired of spending money on cheap clothes.
I am not looking forward to going to MI this weekend AT ALL. I mean, it will be nice to see my family and stuff but I hate traveling with kids so badly. We don't have anywhere to sleep that works well and it's just such a huge PITA. Plus, with the BS Ian's already been pulling, I just don't have...high hopes.
Also, I'm looking for fireworks in the county we will be in on the fourth and there are literally none ON the fourth. WTF.
Where are you going to be? (if you are comfortable sharing).
Thanks everyone! I'll start experimenting with getting him into a back carry this week. Hopefully he'll tolerate it okay.
Back carry for sure. I wear my 32 lb 21 month old, ahem, on my back all the time. No pain at all, even after a two mile hilly hike this weekend. I had my monster 3 yo on my back at a festival this weekend. All my kids have much preferred the back carry. Good luck!
Yes, we almost exclusively back carry. I front carried B back in Feb so that I could get him to nap and it nearly killed my back.
I think adjusting some straps can make a difference.
And not to pump up the Tula again, but the carrier also makes a difference. I put my ergo away a long time ago, the toddler Tula is much more substantial support for heavier kids.

Thanks everyone! It was great to see 50+ notifications before I turned my phone off
Interview went well, I think? No idea when I'll hear anything, but I stopped and got myself sushi for lunch and now I'm going to relax before I write my thank yous.
I happen to be wearing the same color shirt and pants as a co-worker (aqua shirt & khaki pants, nothing earth shattering).
If one more coworker feels the need to make stupid small talk about us being 'twins', I'M GOING TO SHANK SOMEONE.
Usually when this happens to me I get "How come no one gave me the memo?" or "Is this the new uniform?" and I am like OMG YOU ARE SO HILARIOUS I'VE NEVER HEARD THAT BEFORE EXCEPT FOR THE LAST TIME YOU SAID THE SAME THING.
Twin coworker tracked me down the second I walked in and hadn't even taken a sip of coffee. She said, "LOOK! We're TWINS! Looks like nobody else checked their email about the new uniform! Hahahaha :::elbow jab to emphasize the funny:::"
That's when I knew it would be a good day. (wilted)
I'm tired of my kids complaining about their lives of leisure.
That is the SUCK. It really is. DS asks *every morning* "what we gonna do today?" And even if I answer something fun, like "the playground, a picnic, and ice cream with XYZ friends!" he sighs and says "alright, I guess dat's okay." That's an awesome day you ungrateful little booger.

This morning we went to the playground, but it wasn't DS1's favorite playground so he sat on a bench and sulked.

Rough life.
Sounds like we pare in the same place. I took the kids to their third indoor play place of the week because it was raining yet again this morning and then to Wegman's to get a treat. They didn't have DS's preferred iced cookie so cue sulking and whining. When I finally called him out on his bad attitude he burst into tears and then went upstairs and promptly fell asleep. I think he may just be overtired. I've been running them pretty hard this week in an effort to keep them entertained. Now I feel bad for making *him* feel bad. Sigh.

anna7602 mentioning her kids' saints day in another post inspired me to look up if DD has a saint with her name. She does. She's the patron saint of (among other things) in-law problems. Hah! Hopefully that's not a sign of issues once she gets married!
