My whole body hurts from wearing DS2 for about 90 min yesterday. Do baby wearers with kids this heavy (he's around 22lbs) switch to back carry at this point? I have a Beco Soleil'
I hadn't planned on wearing this much after 6mo but we don't have a double stroller and DS1 throws a giant tantrum if I put the baby in the stroller instead of him.
I am DYING at "bereft" over a shirt and at "style conscious senior."
this is my ultimate problem with Lands End. the models are all 30 something so I think its all appropriate for me, but how do I know i'm not ordering something that StyleConsciousSenior LOVES?!!?!
Even worse, imagine how many of StyleConsciousSenior's friends don't know how to leave an online review. (i.e., my mother. Who loves both LE and Eddie Bauer and a good t-shirt and pair of capris, with the scoop neck not too low on the top.)
Ugh, I feel like crap. I actually took a personal day today, which makes me feel bad because it's not paid. But my throat hurts and my head is so congested. WTF? It is fucking JULY. And J slept a lot this weekend and it still kind of sleeping now at almost 10, so I'm worried he's sick too.
I want to sleep all day, but of course I won't be able to. Why don't toddlers understand wanting to just lay around? And since I'll be up anyway, I'll want to catch up on laundry and dishes, which kind of defeats the purpose of staying home.
More reviews from a different Lands End shirt I own:
From StyleConsciousSenior: "I get scads of compliments on this tunic! It is lightweight and dressy-casual. Looks great with skinny jeans or leggings (yes, I wear them at my advanced age)."
From Deanne: "Modest, yet not too frumpy. Soft and comfortable."
"Wonderful shirt, wish you sold more notched neck pieces. Scoop necklines are always too low."
From Yvonne: "This is a great top to wear with capri pants or slacks. It falls longer in the back which may be flattering for some of us that prefer a longer length."
From Kay: "The only thing I wish is the back of the tunic was a little more stylish/flattering. It's plain looking and does not flatter someone my age who does not have a perfect shape. I'm pretty average but have love handles that I don't like showing. Maybe some pleats could give it a nice look."
Agree with this. Also Banana Republic was my go to store pre-kids and remains that way since becoming a mom. A friend of mine swears by Talbot's and it always surprises me that she finds cute stuff there, but I've still never shopped at Talbot's.
Banana is also my go-to. I need to take a closer look at Zara. The quality at Loft has gotten so bad that I stopped shopping there. Nothing fits me right at JC
Late I have gone back to Gap. I hadn't really bought much there in years. Now I find I like a lot of their staple stuff. LOVE these and these. I agree Loft's more casual stuff has gotten really bad. Still like their pants.
IDK, I guess he sees it as no big deal - just don't drink just in case. I feel like it's very controlling and judgmental. I'm very annoyed with him but it seems like a stupid thing to fight about or "have it out."

I read this and my first thought was, "Oooh Eddie Bauer! Haven't checked there yet!"
I also visited talbots.com thanks to this thread. LOL
Maybe you could get a nice pair of cargo-pocket capri pants in a wicking fabric. So you look like you're ready for a safari at any moment, except your ankles are exposed.
Thus thread has me stressed about clothes. I have worn jeans and tee shirts for the past 5.5 years. I purged and got rid of anything that didn't fit. I go back to work in the fall, so I need to shop, and I hate shopping.
We have our in-home interview with the au pair agency so I'm cleaning like a crazy person because we are unable to keep anything organized. Except my fridge, that's still looking good pinotgrig!
Went to Toyota today to speak in person. Of course no one had any clue what I was talking about INCLUDING the guy I left a voice mail with yesterday. But I guess we are one step closer. They put me in the computer and had me sign an estimate form for zero dollars. They said they would get their parts lady on it and gave me her name to call her tomorrow. And I got the card of the manager. But no one apologized for not calling me back for 2 days in a row, so that is kind of disappointing.
The part I found yesterday, I guess doesn't work with my car (stops at 97 and my car is a 98) but the guy said it will probably work anyway because it is just a bolt really. So fingers crossed that they find the part and I can get this done next week.
Gotta love making a kid puke before 10am (came in for a feeding eval and has big time texture issues) I feel so bad when that happens, but at least I got to see what mom and dad are worried about?

Don't stress. I consistently wear little to no makeup (haven't worn my entire pregnancy), comfortable shoes, and clearance rack / Costco clothes. My career seems fine.
No judgment on those who enjoy fashion!
Not even stressed about looking good, just pants that fit and shirts that last more than 5 washings without looking old. I am also stressed about shoes. I was at the same school for 11 years, so I wore my Chaco sandals with impunity. This will not fly where I am going.
I want to find three to five pairs of pants that fit. This is a challenge, because my butt is bigger than my waist and my legs are too long for regular length pants and too short for longs. I would also like 10 nice looking shirts that match said pants, a couple of skirts that are the right length to bike in, and a dress or two. I would also like said wardrobe to last at least 5 years.
Definitely switch to back carries. Even at 7 months pregnant I can comfortably wear DS (25lbs) for 90min in a back carry (I use a woven wrap).

Yes, definitely switch to back carry. I can comfortably carry DD (3 years old, 28 lbs) in a back carry for a long time, but a front carry starts bothering me pretty quickly.

One of mine is 23lbs and front wearing her is uncomfortable, but back is no problem.
your best bet may be buying long pants and then getting them hemmed. It would be an added cost but I think worth it in the long run. I also think Nordstrom may be a good starting point because they cover a wide range, both price-wise and style-wise.
My SIL gets a lot of her clothes for school from Boden.
I am not sure, I am a cheapskate at heart, and love a good bargain, but am willing to spend a good bit on a wardrobe that will make my life easier.

I would definitely switch to back carry. We still carry DD (30lbs, 3.5yo) in our Tula and it's comfortable for hours.
