Or, alternatively, where do you shop for your H's clothes?
H's birthday is next week, and my first idea for his gift was a bust (apparently he decided he didn't want it anymore). I asked if there was anything else he'd really like and he mentioned that he could really use some new "nicer" clothes. "Nicer" meaning anything better than the ratty old t-shirts and jeans/shorts that he currently wears unless we're going out somewhere.
I have a budget of about $150 to spend on his gift and want to buy him a few decent things. Considering my go-to is usually Target, I don't think that's going to cut it.
This will likely not be helpful, but my husband goes to Gordman's once per year, in the summer, and buys $150-$200 worth of clothes, mostly shorts and collared shirts, sometimes a pair of dress pants or a pair of jeans, and that's pretty much it for the year. He's a PE teacher, so he doesn't have to wear fancy clothes to work, so he just needs weekend and summer clothes!
ETA: If you've never been to Gordman's, there are plenty of options that are a step up from ratty t shirts and shorts, and lots of decent brands. They have a tall section, which is nice for my h.
Zara and other European chains that seem to accommodate the smaller, Meditteranean-type build better than a lot of American chains do.
If your H is not 5'6 with a small frame, then ignore me.
Haha, we have the opposite problem. He's 6'4" and medium build. It's so hard to find stuff that's long enough for him but not hugely big everywhere else!
Kohls for jeans. Shirts are nautica, tommy, and some Eddie Bauer thrown in. We live near the outlets so about once a year we hit his favorite stores and he gets new shirts.
Kohls, Macy's, Herbergers. I find a lot of his beloved polo shirts there for a steal.
He likes AE for jeans and plain T-shirts.
Gap is another good bet.
ON is hit or miss. Love the style but he either drowns in it or looks like a little kid. The sizing is so off for him and he's like 5'6" and 150 pounds...so less than average even.
His work clothes are almost all from Express. Slim cut shirts FTW!
His casual clothes are a mix of Express and Old Navy. I want to burn the ON stuff. He wears it to death and since he's long in the torso, the Ts are always too short.
