Have an update? What an update? Ask and answer here.
Here's an update about many of the things I have asked to board about recently.
My seemingly never ending period ended the same day I asked about it (CD19). No idea what that was all about but happy it's over!
House stuff: Our current rental still sucks ball. A realtor and 4 people showed up yesterday afternoon after I told the office that it wasn't a good time. They called me at 11:26 for a 12:00 showing. I said no and then at about 12:30 there were 5 people in my backyard looking at me through the sliding glass door.
Everything is going well with the potential new house. Home inspection on Thursday!
Job stuff: I'm on week 2 of teaching at a summer literacy program run by my school board. It's going really well and it's so nice to be back in the classroom again. L is doing awesome with my inlaws and they are so happy to have him. I'm looking for something part time for the fall.
Sleep stuff: After a few weeks of sort of STTN, L is back to his regularly scheduled night time shenanigans. We've also gone to one nap but he still wakes for the day around 5:00. Right now he goes down for his nap around 11:00 but still only sleeps for 60-90 minutes. He used to sleep that long twice a day and now he's only doing it once. He defies all logic when it comes to sleep stuff. I don't know what to do about it.
I would like updates from:
rugbywife, how is your mental health? How are things going with H now that he is home for the summer?
All the daycare transitioners. hermione? @vicmo? @forgrace? shelbyann? I know there a bunch more I'm forgetting right now.
We have a kitchen floor, and cabinets! But still no countertops. We are supposed to have our kitchen back to normal on 7/23 or so.
Tantrums feel like they've gotten less frequent. Especially morning transition tantrums. We are trying to do less letting him play for a few minutes, he's starting to figure out the routine better.
I had my 32 week appt today and my blood pressure is still good (118/72). But my platelets are low (109).
So now I'm going in once a week for a blood pressure check since my BP has gotten higher at 35 weeks in both my previous pregnancies. Doing another round of blood work later this week. If my platelets get below 90 then I'll start steroids until delivery.
Considering I delivered at 37w and 37w4d previously, I'm getting a little anxious about how close I could be to giving birth in relation to how little we have done to get ready for DD's arrival.
This will be our 4th week (going 2 days a week). As of last week her teachers declared her a veteran...and there was no crying by either of us! I'm worried about tomorrow because the school has been in a temporary location due to remodeling and they are back in their permanent location starting this week. I hope the consistency of teachers and friends is enough to override the freaking out about a new place.
I'm really pleased with how much she seems to be learning already. She's singing new songs and all of a sudden much more interested in the alphabet and counting.
Funny anecdote: we got our first call home from her teacher on what was C's 6th day. The following message was left on my phone (paraphrasing): "Uhhhhh, hi. This is Miss Stephanie. Cassidy is absolutely fine but uhhhhhh during outside time she dove, well slipped, ok yes let's say slipped.. into a mud puddle. Again she's totally fine. I hosed her down and she's in her spare outfit. Just calling because if you want her to wear shoes home, you should bring an extra pair because I don't think hers will be dry."
Obviously, my kid totally dove into the mud puddle.

Hey! We've been down to one nap for a few months. In general it is good, but some days, especially when we aren't out & doing stuff, he gets tired and cranky. It's kind of nice that I still can put him for a morning nap if I want him to skip the afternoon. My biggest update is walking! He's been almost all walking since the middle of last week! It still shocks me when I see him toddling around instead of crawling.

I officially started working (a contract job) last Thursday. The commute sucks, the pay is good, I get health insurance and paid holidays, and they are family-friendly, and after I'm fully trained, I can set my own hours and work from home when needed.
Still on two naps over here. I'm leaking cues from her but she is genuinely tired each morning. I have noticed the afternoon nap is getting shorter though.

Yes, greencrayon. You were one of the ones I was thinking of. Glad she had a good day! There was someone else who's LO was "kicked out" of daycare because her nap schedule didn't work with the other kids or something crazy like that. Anyone remember who that was?
I need a roll call on the spring/summer 2013 parents. Who is pregnant again? Who is ttc?
I have the worst baby fever in the world right now, but no more babies in our near future. I've started selling off big baby items in preparation of our move, and I'm super bummed by it.

How long is the commute? Sucky commutes...well, suck but no job is perfect although this comes pretty close, especially with the option to WFH so you won't have to deal with the sucky commute every day. So happy for you!

40 minutes on a good day without traffic delays. And if anyone is familiar with the Schuylkill Expressway in Philly, well, there are ALWAYS traffic delays.
Once I can set my own hours, I plan to work 8 to 4, so I can beat the worst of rush hour traffic.
I am tentatively happy to announce that as of abut 2 weeks ago we now have 3 children that generally sttn. I now nurse the girls and dump them in their cribs with their lovies (glow worms) and they put themselves to sleep. Someone usually wakes at least once overnight but they fuss, find their paci and go back to sleep. Occasionally we have to go in and find a paci that has fallen on the floor, but that's it! It took 15 mos but you guys, I actually SLEEP!!
Day care is going much better! She started six weeks ago. The first four weeks were tough...sobbing every morning at drop off (her, not me), spending much of her day being held, etc. Week five, she started interacting with the other kids much more and not crying during the day. Her teacher said she thought we had turned a corner. Today, at six weeks, we had our first no tears drop off! Yay.
I love having her at "school" and am so glad we stuck with it. I don't know if it's DC related but her vocab is expanding so quickly and she now says please and thank you.

Nope and nope. That's likely at least a year off right now, unless a new job with less shitty hours falls in J's lap out of nowhere or he up and decides he's ready to start looking.

I posted last week about possible early pregnancy signs. I tested today and so far, nadda. My period is due on Saturday, so we'll see. I'm thinking it's going to be a no. We only had well-timed sex once.
I'm feeling a bit disappointed, even though we weren't really trying. So next month, we're definitely trying.
I am fairly sure my boss thinks everything is just fine now because I have submitted extensive fall programming ideas and I don't constantly roll my eyes at her anymore. I bite my tongue every single day that I am here. My boss is going out of her way to accomodate every request I make regarding scheduling and programming and everything but it just annoys me more. The fact of the matter is that I am at the top of the payscale in one of the wealthiest libraries in the state. There are some full time jobs that would not pay me as much as I make working 20 hours here so I'm biding my time.
I have a third interview for a full time job I desperately want on Thursday. I think it's down to two (maybe 3) of us. Fingers crossed!
Things are better. DH being home has helped a lot. That worries me for September but I am taking each day at a time, trying not to focus on that. Try for to focus on getting in shape instead. Lol.
