I was thinking over my experience in the wig store today and just realized something that's kind of pissing me off. The (unhelpful) saleslady told me that 80% of their customers were cancer patients, which makes sense. They are by far the nicest wig store in the area, and people with cancer and alopecia need wigs most often and would be willing to pay $$$ for nice ones. Fine. They also sold scarves and hats, and all the scarves I saw were like $70, I shit you not, for a motherfucking piece of FABRIC. Not even silk or nice fabric. Some of the hats were really nice and soft, but all insanely expensive. I know this store is not a charity, but it totally felt like they were ripping people off. (The wigs were $$$, but that's comparable to what I've seen online).
I'm a newbie sewer, but I'd be more than happy toto attempt scarfs for you. Preference on colors or fabrics?
I had thyroid tests done last week. My doctor's office sent me the results with absolutely no explanation of what they mean. My doctor hasn't called me at all. I only got them today, so hopefully they will call tomorrow? I don't know.
I have to stay another night. That's a good sign because it means all of my tests so far came up negative, but now there are 2 specialties involved saying is the other's issue. They won't let me go while my pain is still only managed by heavy iv drugs.

Man, you are the sweetest! I'm actually good on scarves, thanks to some super generous coworkers, but I can't tell you how much your offer touched me. Thank you! (My earlier post was more bitter for all the other people who aren't so lucky and who maybe think they need to shell out $70 for a crappy scarf because they have a medical condition). But seriously, thank you.

I hate being in limbo.
Oh no, I'm sorry. It sucks when each side wants to punt it to the other and you are stuck in the middle. They will definitely want to move you to oral pain mess before releasing you, since you can't exactly walk around with a morphine pump dragging along (but wouldn't that be nice?). Have they been able to get your pain under control with the IV meds at least?

Yeah, dilaudid is my friend. The morphine didn't do much.
However, for whatever reason makes this different from other times I've taken opiates, I am itching like crazy. The benadryl only helps some. I swear my eyeballs itch

I hate when I jump to the last page of a randoms thread and discover someone posted something serious and I missed it, especially when it's the first post. I swear I'm not an ass! Anyway, hope you feel better soon, friend!

So funny how different bodies are. IV dilaudid was terrible for me 4 years ago, then amazing in my most recent ER trips. Morphine is always lovely, lol. I'm so, so sorry about the itching. That sounds unbearable. I hope that they can get things under control ASAP.
Eh, I don't really consider H's family my family either. Mostly nice people, but not my family.
My sister-in-law shows she feels this way and has said things like what summer said. It does hurt. And I don't understand it.
If the sentiment was simply that it IS the kids' family but not yours, and your family is the kids' family but not DH's, I guess that is ok. Different, but at least one family isn't preferred over the other.
But my SIL makes it clear that her and my brother's kids' primary grandparents are her parents, and the other grandparents (my brother's family) are peripheral. And their primary aunt is her sister and the other aunts (me and my sis) are peripheral. And her parents are loaded so they can pay for them to travel to see them and they go see my SIL for like a month at a time and my family members cannot afford to do that. But it sucks.
My daughter sees that I love my ILs to the moon and back, and that my mom and husband are fond of each other. He is not as close with my mom as I am with his, but it could also be awkward because my mom is hotter than I am and he is halfway between us in age, lol. Kinda glad there is a little distance, ha!!
If anything my dad, his wife, and my sister that is their daughter are the peripheral family members and that is definitely due to distance.
But I take DD to see her grandparents as often as DH does, if we don't all go together. We are all family as far as I'm concerned.
FWIW, my kids are more than welcome to be as close as they want with whatever side they want. If anything, my family suffers because they see the girls once a year at most, while we see H's family all the time.
It's just that I, personally, don't see my ILs as my family. They are 100% my husband's family, and my kids' family. But if I divorced H, I would never have contact with my ILs again most likely except for some event involving our kids. There is nothing else connecting me to them. I'm afraid it may hurt their feelings, but it is what it is.
