mcfelix is that an area rug or a carpet in your living room? And where did you find the chairs? I'm in full on redecorating mode.
DD's Jenny Lind bed came today!!!!! I seriously love it so much! I'll take a picture when her sheets are out of the dryer and the bed is all made. We ordered the nightstand too but it's on back order so she has a fan on a ghetto pile of books. We've been playing in her room and on the bed all morning and she's pretty excited about it.
@little_Moxie- I did some of it on my own (picking out rugs and paint color, for example) but had a decorator help with providing furniture options. And she handled the custom drapery once we picked the fabric from a bunch of options she sent us. The woman I use as a decorator was my co-worker at a previous builder I worked for - she decorates all the model homes.
My DS has his first soccer practice tomorrow. On a Saturday...where I hoped that we could do nothing all day. Boo! Also, the coach mentioned that they would have two practices and the scrimmage before their first game next weekend. It seems a little excessive for 6 year olds, but whatever. I am THE worst when it comes to this stuff. I want DS and DD to be active kids, but would rather just come home after work and not have to deal with practices and games and all that. #FWP
DD is U6, so they combine the practices/games, which isn't too bad... except they are Saturdays at 1pm in AUGUST in the tropics. It is effing miserable out there, lol.
What can I do with a lot of bananas? @mrswindycity or anyone else.
Thanks mcfelix! We need a good neutral rug for our front room.
Highly recommend Safavieh rugs on overstock!! This is the 3rd one we've gotten from there. Excellent quality at a great price. Plus, if it doesn't look right in your house, you can ship it back! (although DH was ready to murder me when I told him we needed to send it back. Packing up a 10x14 rug is no small feat).

Check out the Friday PSA thread on ML if you're bored.
My CW and I, who are the only 2 staff in our program, both have B names. We are hiring for an additional position, and our first choice is also a woman with a B name. Maybe we can get matching monogrammed jackets, lol.
You seem a very nice person, but i am now required to question your sanity.
I am questioning myself, too. I just have weird feet, and have had a lot of happens with shoe backs on flats rubbing blisters into my heels. Don't worry I haven't bought them yet....
My mom is watching J today and we met up for lunch. She was telling me about a cartoon show that incorporates Mr. Roger characters in cartoon form and the main character's name is Danny. She is enthralled. I am assuming this is Daniel Tiger? I have never seen it and had no idea Mr. Rogers stuff was in it.
I reminded her about the AAP recommendations and she said that my generation makes things entirely too hard on ourselves and Sesame Street made me learn my letters at a freakishly young age.
Is it flameful that I don't really care that my four-month-old is watching cartoons?
Then again, I am not a fan of excessive kid products cluttering up my house; DD has managed to help/watch in the kitchen standing on a chair since she turned 1.
Is it bad that I have no desire to give me kid access to the kitchen counters? I don't have the patience to let her "help" me cook.
Oh I don't like it either! It takes 3x as long, the food is worse quality (the eggs weren't all the way mixed this morning, for example). I only let him help if I have time and patience. So like 25% of the time The rest of the time I say "I don't have anything you can do this time, sorry buddy!" Or I hope he stays engaged with his toys or Curious George.

Our house is officially on the market (again). We chose the best realtor in our area - She's sold & resold lots & lots of houses out here. She knows her stuff, and she hires professional photographers to take pictures / and take aerial shots. I can't believe how great the pictures look! I'm cautiously optimistic...
We leave for 10 days on Wednesday for the beach and I can't wait!! I have SO MUCH work to do today and DD WILL NOT NAP. WHYYYY!!!! I'm going to end up working the majority of the weekend. boo
I know the feeling. Because of stupid soccer practice tomorrow, I know that DD will fall asleep in the car on the way home and won't take her usual 2 hour nap. Waaaaaah.
I'm with you. Dd2 napped for about 30 min in the car as we were driving to the park and once we got there, so that's it for the done. Somewhat related, I'm currently hiding out in my bedroom while the girls watch Dora.
I've spent the past two hours timing contractions. Sadly, they're all over the place-- 5-15 min apart. Im going to take the girls for a walk in a bit and hopefully that'll help regulate things (or stop them). But this is a good excuse to not make dinner, right? Because I don't wanna.

I'm sad. The mom of some long time friends passed away this morning. She was a truly wonderful, kind lady with a fantastic sense of humor. She battled cancer when we were in HS and college but it came back last year when her daughter was pregnant with the first grandchild. I know my friends were ready for her to go, there was no hope, treatment had stopped, and she was in so much pain but my heart is breaking for them at the loss of their mother. Just last week, we though she had 3-6 months.
My sis is my friend's BFF so we went over this morning and watched her son all day so that she and her DH could be at the hospital and with family. It was nice to be able to help and it did make me feel better to be able to do something for her.

So my interview went really well we will see what next steps are.
Having lunch Monday with my former boss/mentor (retired prior to BFH (boss from hell)) and I hope she will help me sort through my thoughts on these three possibilities. They're all so very different and I have no idea what I really want.
