E has a wet cough and had a low fever yesterday of 99 per daycare. Should I call the pedi? I really think it's just a cold, but DH is a bit more cautious than I am. I'm staying home this morning and DH is coming home to stay for the afternoon.
Also I finished the Girl on the Train. It was ok. I don't get why it should take 1/2 the book before anything happens and I figured out the end pretty quick.
I fell asleep on the couch around 11. The baby started crying and I was all "why isn't DH picking him up?!" Because it was almost 5 a.m. so he was upstairs.
Congrats to Ethan for STTN.
I credit the double swaddle technique I tried for the first time. I feel like a million bucks.

School starts Thursday. I no longer can wake up at 7:30 when she wakes up Parking is an issue so you really have to get there before 8 am. Which basically means I have to be up at 5:30-6. Ugh.
One of my good friends is recovering from surgery, so I'm watching her two kids for a few hours this morning to give her a break. She has a 5yo DD and 3yo DS. I think her son has ASD, but my friend is in denial, she says he's just a "late bloomer." He's 3yo and has zero words, hits and kicks when you try to interact with him, and has low verbal comprehension (he seems not to hear you when you ask him something). Are there any links I can send my friend to encourage her to get him evaluated? I want to help, but I don't know what to say.
DD slept on her floor last night because a spider crawled across her bed when she was almost asleep last night. DH found it and killed it, but I can't blame her for refusing to get back into bed. Poor girl. She's done a really good job at staying in her nest of blankets and pillows, though.
We are going back to the hospital today to check on SMIL. She had a set back, they originally thought she might get out today. I'm trying to eat a good breakfast and lunch so I can have a bad dinner at the hospital.
I've noticed since I switched lettuce cups out for bread for lunch lately I look slimmer already. I stopped going to fast food for lunch.
Our bank stopped offering rewards checking and I'm pissed about it. Just not pissed enough to go through the hassle of switching banks.

Do you think it's allergies? Mine have been awful with lots of coughing and a 99.5-99.9 temp.

Could you send her links to your state's early intervention website? Ours has milestones broken out by age. I believe at 3 years, it switches over from EI to the school system but not sure if that's universal. Also, I believe you could call on her behalf but I do not believe its anonymous. You could also tell her about a "friend" who received services (often the initial consult is free and the services are income based) and what a difference it's made.

Could be. This area is awful for them. She really only has a cough. No runny nose at all.
Having lunch with my mom today, and then either shopping or the zoo depending on the weather. I can't wait til my parents move here in October so we can have frequent lunch dates. Plus, free babysitting!

H is staying home with dd this morning so I can do some work and then heading in. Not sure how I ended up with Monday afternoon, Tuesday all day and Wednesday afternoon but luckily I am not too busy at work.

I was hopeful DD could go back to DC today, but as soon as I opened her door I knew that wasn't the case. She was whimpering in her crib, her pjs were soaked, and she looked up at me and said "I poo-pooed Mommy".
So, another day of movies for her and laundry for me. I bought Cinderella yesterday and I think we've already gotten my $20 worth!
I am feeling sorry for myself because DC is closed starting Monday for 10 days, so I already planned to be home with her then. I am not cut out to be a full time SAHM.
Also, I'm going to have to jump through some insurance hoops this morning. Apparently DD has exceeded the number of speech therapy visits allocated to us for the year, but according to our therapy office, if I call anthem directly, I can possibly get some more approved. I hate to be pessimistic but yeah, I can see this just being an exercise in futility even though she legitimately needs more help. Good thing school starts next week so the county services will pick up.
Suoergreen - Eekk that's a tricky situation. I'll check for links I may have saved on the desktop.
Yeah it is tricky. Thank you for looking! She's a good friend, I want to help, I'm having a hard time navigating the situation. It's hard b/c when her son does something, like throws sand right in my son's eyes, I don't know what to say to my son. I can't explain to DS what special needs are, and why her son isn't being disciplined for his actions. So my son is really upset that her son pushed him, or hit him, and I don't know what to say. I want to teach DS about patience and helping kids with special needs, but I can't do that b/c my friend just brushes off her son's behavior and he isn't diagnosed as ASD. I hope that makes sense.
We forgot to set the monitor to scan before bed so it was only showing DD1's room all night...until 4:45 when I woke up and thought I heard crying. Poor DD2, she was screaming her head off for who knows how long - she normally wakes between 2:30 and 3:30. I'm hoping since she had her 2 months shots yesterday that she was extra sleepy like DD1 was after hers. But I'm guessing she was awake for a while based on how worked up she was. She nursed a long time and went right back to sleep until 8. All smiles now, which is nice to see. My poor second child lol.
@supergreen I don't think the boy needs to be diagnosed in order for you to teach your son about patience. Just think of it as a random kid on the playground who is not following rules. I'm sure there are websites out there to give tips on how to talk to your kids about kids who are "different," KWIM?
I am so thankful (comfortable) to live in a time and place where leggings and a tunic are perfectly acceptable in the work place. I don't think it was quite this way during my pregnancy two years ago.
I'm at home today and don't have any work I need to do. I have two meetings tomorrow so it would be nice to go into labor today so I don't have to attend tomorrow. I am just exhausted and ready to have this baby.
In more exciting news, our master bathroom and powder room are getting wallpapered today! Well the wallpaper guy won't finish today, but at least he's getting started. Should be done tomorrow though.
My 9am eval is not here yet. I'm fairly certain I'm being stood up. GRRRR.
I guess that means I'd better get to cleaning out my "random stuff" desk drawer, it needs it. I also guess I have to make some phone calls. I hate phone calls.

Frankly, I would MYOB here. He may have special needs or delays she doesn't want to disclose yet, which is why she's noncommittal about it. Just teach your son that sometimes people don't follow the rules and we need to walk away, or other (insert proper behavior) here.
osulori I need hair pats. Lately C has been stuttering a lot--as in, "I-I-I-I-I-I want w-w-w-waffles for breakfast!" or similar. Totally normal at his age (almost 3), right? It really just seems like his brain is working faster than his mouth, but he does get frustrated. Should we ignore?
DD is at the point now where she can say "I don't want it" or "I don't want to" but can not yet communicate *why* she doesn't want to (probably because it's some strange toddler logic). This morning it was a fight to get her to wear a shirt, and then she still hates her new shoes so that was another fight.

We are in this exact same boat. Mentioned to Pedi at a recent sick visit and her response was that it's not uncommon - especially in 'strong talkers' - that their mouth can't keep up with their brains occasionally.
It tends to happen for DS at the beginning of a sentence or when he's super excited. Stopping him and inviting him to start over almost always resets him.
