So we just found out that friends of DHs are getting a divorce. They are the first of our friends to get one. They have been married 4 years and have an almost 2 year old. I am just...shocked. DH doesn't know any details yet but it just seems out of the blue (even though they live OOT and we haven't talked to them in a long time).
We are watching a movie and I hope it doesn't suck.
DH is out at his fantasy football draft at a friend's house. I fed DD and gave her a bath and now we are playing in her room. Actually I'm sitting here watching her pull pairs of pants out of her dresser while I fold the laundry in her basket.
Gretchen says loudly "I DON'T NEED TO GO POTTY YET!" when she needs to poop. It is a pretty obvious tell, lol. First time since her success on Wednesday that she's pooped. I wish she wouldn't hold it so long!!
Thanks to the heads up from @notquiteblushing, I took DD to the Little Blue Truck storytime at Barnes & Noble this morning. They served the kids mini Oreo frappuccinos with blue sprinkles (to tie-in with the LBT theme, I guess). I am moderately breezy about most parenting issues, but this got some serious side-eye from me.
I've isolated myself in my room and let DH parent all day. I'm super tired despite 9 hours of sleep and a 2 hour nap. Plus some inexplicable rage. And nauseau but I think that's from the 3 big sugar cookies I've eaten.

I didn't finish reading and I liked that they for frappucinos. I mean 'yeah that's bad for them' side eye here too.
I am sick of people spelling my name wrong. My whole life I have been super breezy about this. And overall I don't care. Except....when you reply to my email or comment on Facebook post. My name is right there!!!!!
However a woman replied last week to me spelling it wrong and then sent me another email to apologize. (I didn't say anything). It was nice.
C refused to nap today. So we took him for a walk and he slept for like 30 minutes in the stroller. We ended up walking for like an hour in 90 degree heat, just to get this kid to take an effing nap.
The days with a newborn are so much easier than the nights. If I were smart I'd be loading up on sleep during the day.
The nights were the hardest for me too (((hugs))).
Hopefully I'll be commiserating with you in MOTN threads soon.
Our nights suck for the most part too. My perfect daytime baby who stays so beautifully on a schedule during the day turns into a hellion at nighttime.
I had a crazy busy day and now I'm parked on the couch watching Suits. H went to bed early because he's tired from doing absolutely nothing all afternoon. Annoying.
I REALLY want to start taking down the wallpaper in our basement living room. It's one of the last huge things we need to do to finish off the basement and get ready for C's big boy room. But I feel like if I started it on my own while H is working, I would be overdoing it a bit based on how I've been feeling lately. Unfortunately, I also feel like I'll be waiting for H to start it FOREVER unless I just take the initiative myself.
I need a nice way to tell DH to leave me alone. He is trying to be nice but I'm pissed he has a long to do list and hasn't touched a thing on it today. Which is totally reasonable because he watched DS all day. But I'm still mad. #hormones
