mine isn't on the list, but I would call it a binge drinking school. most of the time us nerds studied, but then when it was party time we partied HARD!
I am surprised to see the CUNY schools on the sober list, though. My parents and many of their friends went to Brooklyn college, and they are lushes. I guess because its a total commuter school?
I am curious if going to a "party school" hurts people. Like, do people pass over resumes presuming someone isn't serious / a hard worker because they chose to go to WVU.
I think it depends on other things. I got my dream job (for a recent college grad) right out of college, but my grades were good and I had a good portfolio and good recommendations.
Does anyone know how the lists are made? Like, I know my school was pretty crazy sometimes, but I kind of thought places like UMass Amherst were bigger and crazier and they're not even on the list.
we were a stone cold sober school, campus was in a dry county and we signed an honor contract that we would not drink (like the students at Wheaton do).
dancing was also banned when I was in college 10 years ago, but that policy has since been lifted, at both Wheaton and my college. Wheaton kind of paved the way for Christian schools to drop that policy

Even though Wisconsin is a party school I feel like I got a top-notch education. I think that I am lucky that the school is also well known for its academics, not just its partying. It's never affected me.

:Y: This engineering student spent a lot of weekends at a party school. However, my college experience is completely different from DH, who went to Syracuse. I think he partied just about every night.
I went to Calvin College. I am not surprised at all to see it on the sober list. I drank in college, but generally away from my own school. It was very religious.

I agree, Wisconsin has a great rep here in NJ- not only as a party school. I also think highly of Florida, UT-Austin, Penn State and Maryland as academic institutions.
