Spin class was canceled, so that sucked, but I took the opportunity to go down to the Mexican market which was awesome. This weekend's food plan is making breakfast burritos, santa fe zucchini boats, and pumpkin chili with cornbread. And to cook the spaghetti squash I have which I'll do something with later in the week. Or, just throw some butter and parm on it and eat it today.
My boss called me first thing this morning, so that sucked. Some client got moved from one facility to another even though we had rescheduled the hearing so she was freaking out that I didn't do what I was supposed to do. Except I did. We filed notice with the court on Tuesday and they didn't change the date in the system until yesterday...so the dude got moved today because the sheriffs didn't get the update in time. Oh well. At least she called to make sure I did my job instead of starting off telling me I didn't do my job. Baby steps, I suppose.
It's sunny out but cool. Definitely sweatshirt weather. Back to school weather. I am hoping I can stay motivated enough today to get a bulk of my homework that is due next week done.
Also, I'm about 32 "likes" away from 10,000. Help a sister out?

I am supremely pissed at H. My BIL's gf's grandfather died and the wake was last night. The plan was to meet up at the place. I got there at 7 and texted him to say I was leaving my phone in the car so not to text me, just come find me when he got there.
I waited. and waited. and waited. At 8:15 I went out and got my phone. No text. I texted him that if he wasn't going to come then I was leaving. Apparently he got there at 7:30 and never bothered to look for me. The place was small. 3 rooms. But you don't look for your wife who knows literally 1 person there?
His lack of consideration for my feelings on any level are making me rethink many things.
We have a wedding to go to this afternoon. It should be fun. Plus, i never have chance to get dressed up so I am looking forward to really slathering on the makeup.

I want to rewind time and live (most) of the last three weeks all over again. DH and I caught the last six Phish shows in summer tour and they played better than they have in years! We got super, super close to the stage and just had such an awesome time. Real life pales in comparison! Meanwhile, my sister is catching the last few Dave Matthews shows and is all over FB raving about how much fun she's having. I sort of pity her - lol. If it were really that fun, she'd be smiling in her photos.
I want to like spaghetti squash but it is always just squash to my mouth no matter how I prepare it. And I don't line yeklow swuash which is what spaghetti squash is to my mouth and taste buds. I love zucchini though.
But talk to me about the pumpkin chili.
SO.GOOD. It doesn't taste like pumpkin but it does have a little bit of sweetness to it. The "recipe" I use is loosely based on this Whole Foods one. It's really good.

It's a cozy, rainy day, and I love it. We never had days like this in Texas (West Texas, because I know Central and Eastern Texas do get rain), and all I want to do is curl up with a cozy sweater and a book. I won't because chores, but it's making things feel all fall-y and wonderful.

I never get to dress up, either and I LOVE it. I would be going all out, too.

It was 53 when I took the dog for a walk and I didn't grab a jacket or sweatshirt or anything. I was kind of chilly.
I let the dog ride along while I ran a couple errands and then took him with to this farm store (it's allowed, promise) to get some mums. There was a cub scout pack selling popcorn there. They were so polite and nice. Asked nicely if they could pet the dog, were politely asking people if they'd like to buy popcorn. The moms were making sure the kids did all of it basically - explaining what products they had, the cost, taking the money, saying thank you. It was really nice to see. I talked with the mom for a bit and she was really nice.
Also there was a little sister there with them and she was telling me which mum I should buy (the mums were right behind their table). Her mom was horrified but she had good taste!
I also bought 2 Christmas presents this morning. I ran into JoAnns and they had these really nice, big reverseable tote bags that were $29.99 on sale for $7.99 so I got one for each of our moms. I sort of regret not getting myself one cause they're really nice.

This is so yummy, it gives it more of an earthy warmth rather than truly pumpkin-ey. We will also sub butternut squash and/or leave out meat entirely. Another good one for the crock pot too. Actually Carl takes it to his holiday potluck as a veggie option and people ask for it every year. I'm so jealous of your fall menu.
My tummy is a little off this morning. I took a pepto and I'm feeling better but Carl just came back and shut me in the bedroom alone, so I may need more rest.
We're dogsitting again and my dog prefers to steal the other dog's bed at bedtime, then whine piteously, loudly, and continuously when the other dog reclaims it in the middle of the night. So I had to get up at 4 am again to remind my dog that she does, indeed, have her own bed that is perfectly adequate when the other dog isn't here.

Today's forecast is 89 with 60% humidity but damnit I'm wearing my boots until I start sweating.
It's 63 here and might climb just a couple more degrees and partly sunny with just a little breeze.....ahhhh fall. It's supposed to warm up again next week, but I will take it for this weekend. If it rained all day tomorrow, I'd be even happier.

I've only gotten my eyelashes tinted twice so I'm by no means an authority. My aesthetician recommended it when I was getting my eyebrows waxed once and I went with it. I didn't ask about fun colors. Mine are just a black semi-permanent dye to make them more noticeable.
My eyelashes are naturally really blonde so I'm kind of a slave to mascara. After I got them tinted the first time, I didn't need mascara for about 5-6 weeks.
Took all of about 7 minutes. Looks amazing. If your salon does it, you should get it done.
tillie is right that it doesn't make your lashes look longer or fuller but I really don't care about that unless it's a big night out or something.

I just saw a recipe for Plantation Peanut Soup in my crockpot cookbook. I had to do a double take. Really, they could let come up with a better recipe name than that.
