With G, I came running downstairs with the pee stick waving it in his face. I was wearing rainbow shorts and a zebra print blouse because I'd just gotten home from work and changed bottoms. I poas on a whim; he didn't know I was testing.

I got off a red eye and after I slept I went to target. When he got home that night I told him I brought a present from my trip and gave him a pair of baby converse (he wears converse a lot).
Then we went to our friends' house for dinner. They were supposed to be adopting a baby boy in the next few weeks, so we gave them the shoes with a note in the box that said "please return by September 14, 2012".
I woke up really early that day and couldn't sleep so I decided to POAS. H typically woke up before me in the mornings so I just left the test on the counter for him to find when he woke up. He didn't get that it was positive though so he was confused about why I left it there. He was like is this real? What is this?

With ds1 I told dh I was taking a pg test, took the test, then we waited together and bam! Positive.
With ds2 I poas while dh was watching cartoons with ds1. I'd been taking tests every couple days for awhile because my period was a week late but they were always negative. This one was positive! So I went downstairs and was like "guess what!"
I walked out of the bathroom into his office and tapped him on the shoulder and shoved a pee stick in his face. He had no idea I was testing (I didn't plan to test, I just got a random urge to do so, and poof, pregnant).
The first time (miscarriage) I think he was the one who noticed the line develop on the stick. I'm pretty sure I had tossed it aside assuming it was a BFN. It was ever so slightly positive.
The second time I sent him a text to ask what time he would be home. He responded with, why, you want to tell me you are pregnant? Lol.
The third time when he came home from work I told him about how I had taken a wondfo earlier that afternoon at like 7dpo and thought I saw a line. I showed it to him and he saw it too. So then I peed on all the things. They were all clearly positive then. That should have been the first inclination it was twins. I shouldn't have had a positive test so early!! But us confirmed the dates.

I tested one morning while he was still sleeping. When I got lines on both a wondfo and FRER, I walked into the bedroom, woke him up, and was like, uh, I think it worked (the IUI). He was half asleep and very confused.
When he got home from work I had a "big brother" bandana on the dog. I bought it when we started TTC.
DH walked into the house and said "what's he wearing? hey it says big brother" ... then continued to set his stuff down, and take the dog outside to pee. A minute later I shoved the positive pregnancy test in his face and he was like "ohhh". Then he said "how do you feel? are you excited?" LOL
There was definitely no "wow" moment. It was lost on him. Oh well.

He kinda told me I was pregnant. It was one of those tests, where it's just a horizontal line if you're not pregnant, and a vertical lines shows up to form a "+" if you are pregnant. Well, only a vertical line showed up. I had no idea what that meant, so I showed the test to him, asking if he thought I was pregnant.
We had IUI #2 that month. Our anniversary celebration (wine tasting) was 11 DPO so I tested then and got the world's faintest line ever. We decided it was probably the trigger shot still in my system and went ahead with the tasting. He left the next day for a trip and my beta was the day after that. I kept texting him shots of more pee sticks and things like "OMG, I think it really might be positive!!" But he didn't want to get excited until the numbers proved it. When I got the confirmation call, I tried calling him, but he was volunteering and couldn't take calls. So I took a picture of a few baby airplane shirts I'd bought that said Daddy's Wingman and Daddy's Co-Pilot and I texted them to him. I kind of felt like it should have been a little less anti-climactic after nearly two years of trying, but I was thrilled anyway.

I had taken a test the day before, but did not see him the whole day. I didn't want to tell him over the phone or anything, so I just waited. I got up and took a new test. I crawled back in bed and told him I had something to show him. Handed over the positive test and said I was pregnant.
#1: I didn't test until the day my period was due and it didn't start. I had felt kind of weird all week and my hot chocolate made me feel awful that day. Came home from work, peed on a stick, and got a BFP on a FRER and then yelled "hey, can you come here?" up the stairs. He came down and I brought him into our bathroom and pointed at the stick on the counter. There was a lot of "holy shit!!" and hugging and crying. We went to dinner to celebrate and stopped at CVS on the way home and bought a two-pack of digital tests and I peed on both of those that night, too. LOL
#2: Ate some nutella after dinner. Felt immediately like barfing. Looked at my H sitting on the couch and said, "I'm fucking pregnant." He said no way and I went and peed on a stick. It was + and I'm pretty sure I about threw it at him from down the hallway. There was some "holy shitting" and crying as well.
Took a test and showed it to him. He was all, okay well we'll just keep an eye on that!
I was like, no, I'm definitely pregnant. He's like, okay, well we'll just see what it says tomorrow!
Ha! This is why I never told him I sensed I might be pregnant when using a Wondfo. I had to buy a digital so he wouldn't question me. The response above would happened, and it would have killed me, lol.

#1: We had agreed we would wait until the RE would do a blood test, but I took a Wondfo at home while he was at work. He came home to a bunch of pee sticks. Neither of us knew whether or not to believe it (false positives from meds) so I went and got a blood test the next day, which was obviously positive. I picked him up from work that day and when he got in the car I said "Hi Daddy."
#2: I was home with M, who was sick, and after realizing I didn't get my period, I took a pregnancy test. We had just gone through a bunch of failed IUIs and put a down payment for IVF so we were waiting for my period. I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I called him at work and nervously said "I think I'm pregnant...?" He yelled through the phone to take M to get a blood test NOW. LOL
He was sleeping so I left the positive test on the bathroom counter. I drew an arrow on the mirror with dry erase marker pointing to it with "holy shit".
He text me later saying I should have woken him up. I learned long ago never to wake him for anything, how was I to know that was rh exception to the rule?
Dd1. We had just heard word that the house we placed a bid on accepted our offer. I shocked the hell out of him and said ummmm we are having a baby too. Not exactly planNed so it was a big day for us
Dd2. just told hIm. I had three mc before dd2 was born so we didn't get our hopes uP.
Both times I waited until we were out to dinner. When my beer came I handed it to him and said he would have to finish it for me, I couldn't drink it.
He was out of town when I found out I was pregnant with DS1 so I had to wait like 8 days to tell him. I had to wait until we were together so I could see his face.
With DS2 I took a test on a Friday morning and told him when we were alone on a date on Saturday night.
DS - I couldn't sleep since I knew I was POAS. I tried to hold it, since I knew H wanted to be up to do it together. But I couldn't hold it anymore so I told H that I was going to be pee. H sleepily said "pee." I POAS and then went in the other room to let it be. Then I went back in and said Oh my God! H heard me and figured out what it meant.
DD - I think H saw the pee stick before me and called me in.
It was my 2nd or 3rd day testing that cycle, and I was pretty sure CD1 was coming anytime. I P'ed OAS anyway because it ain't over till it's over. I left the Wondfo on the sink to develop while I went to check email or something. When I came back, not sure how many minutes it had been, there was a squinter. I called Calvin up from downstairs to see if he concurred. He came to the bottom of the stairs. "No, come here." He came halfway up. "No come HERE." He came to the top of the stairs. "No, COME HERE." Finally he came into the bathroom and I asked if he saw what I saw. (Yes.) That was pretty much it. After that he pretty much carried on like it was a totally normal morning. Halfway to work (we carpool) when he was yammering on about some case, I was finally like... dude, I can't with this right now. Remember that line this morning? That we've been trying for 6 months for?
I wasn't dead sure whether it was an evap line or a real line, and I had some red spotting later that day, so I tested again the next day with with another Wondfo (slightly less squinty) a blue dye test (definite +). I felt a lot more confident this was really it after that, but the moment had passed. We stopped on the way home from work that night for a digital, and it also said "Pregnant." Yay.
Well we did IVF and H knew when I was testing. I told him when I gt a bfp 2 days before beta, then text him when beta was confirmed. He came with to first u/s at 6 weeks when we saw twins.

First pregnancy - Came out of bathroom and just told him after POAS because my period was 2 days late. He said when I came out I looked like I had seen a ghost.
Second pregnancy - Tested at work because there were a couple of signs of pregnancy I experienced that morning but had no HPTs. Picked some up on my way to work and got the BFP once I got into work and peed. I wanted to wait until that night to share but I caved and e-mailed him (that is the best way to reach him during the day; I didn't want to say "call me" because that would have made him think someone died or there was some other bad emergency).
Me: Hey, is this a line? DH: I don't think so. Me: I think it is. DH: Here, I'll pee on a test and we'll use that as a control and compare the two. *three minutes later* DH: Well, whaddaya know. It is a line. Me: Uh huh, uh huh. *too busy calling my mom and sister*
That's what we did for #1! We also used water to test. I didn't actually believe the tests were right until the next day.
Well I was late already, but I didn't want to test on vacation. So the next morning I took a test and the line showed up immediately and said from the bathroom loudly "well that was fast!" He's like "you're so romantic!" Then I took a digital just to be sure. LOL
With DD I was pretty certain I was so I had asked him if he wanted me to wake him up before work if/when I ever got a positive. (Back then I was up and gone for work before he was even awake, now it's the opposite!) On a Friday morning I took the test and kept it secret all day. When he finally got home that night he was sitting on the stairs petting the dogs and I walked up to him, grabbed his hand, and put it on my stomach. I just smiled and he knew.
With this pregnancy I took the test when he was at work since I was off for the summer. I wasn't expecting him home until his normal time so I left the pee stick on the counter and was going to hide it later. He got home while DD and I were out and saw it. I didn't know he saw it though so when I go home I put DD in a "big sister" shirt and she walked up to him. He was like, "Yeah I know. I saw it upstairs." I was kind of bummed but oh well. He was really excited either way!
I tested in the morning before work. He had already left for work. I stopped at Target on the way home and got some bibs, the first of which said "I look up to daddy." (I wanted something that said "I love my daddy" or something but their selection was limited.)
When I got home I told DH I had a surprise and gave him the bibs. It took him forever to figure it out (which was funny, especially since we were TTC), but when he finally got it he started crying and jumping up and down; it was super sweet.
I came screaming at him from the bathroom the morning after we hosted a boozy party. Whoops.
It was a Wondfo so we sat over it for a while to see if it would get darker. Then I peed on a digital in front of him to confirm. Who says romance is dead?
