Would you offer your bedroom to your ILs? UPDATE

Inlaws are coming to stay at our house for a week in two weeks to watch our girls while my husband and I go out of town.  We have a lovely and roomy guest room with a queen size bed and its own private bathroom with a shower/tub combo, double sinks etc. The closet has space to hang clothes and I keep 2 empty drawers in the dresser. It's quite comfortable and I hope this doesn't sound AWish but I'm proud of our guest accommodations. The problem; it's on our second floor. (Same floor my girls sleep.)
Our bedroom is downstairs and is a typical master bedroom; king size bed, large attached bathroom. I know she would love our shower vs the tub/shower combo upstairs. What she would hate is the temperature of our room.  It's the warmest room in the house by a good 5-7 degrees (it's so annoying) and we live in a warm climate; it will still be warm here in 2 weeks. a/c doesn't help in our room :/ I'd also need to make a little space in our closets, drawers bc right now they're full. 
Stairs are tough for my MIL. She is a heavy woman and doesn't like going up and down stairs. (She 64 years old, no clue if that makes a difference or not.) 

I'm toying with offering my ILs our bedroom while we're gone. DH says no; that we have a perfectly good guest room for them to stay in. MIL is noisy (self admitted) and I'm sure there would be snooping. However, who's to say she wouldn't snoop anyway while we're gone?

ETA- it doesn't make a difference what floor they sleep on vs the fact that my girls are on the second floor. They're 6 and 4 and do not wake in the night; that part is a non-issue, thankfully

UPDATE- she happily accepted. I knew they would and I feel good/fine about offering.  It will kick my butt in gear to organize my bathroom drawers.  However, is it terrible that while I'm there I stay in my room and they move to my room when I leave? So they arrive on a Monday and I leave Tuesday. So Tuesday morning I'll throw the sheets in the wash and they can move to my room. I come back the following Sunday and she doesn't leave until the following Thursday. I'm going to want my room back, for sure.   My FIL will be leaving so I'll help her get her things upstairs and of course wash the sheets myself. Honestly, she'd probably take me up on staying in my room the whole time but I don't think I could handle it while I'm at home. I'm nice but not that nice.

My mom sleeps in our bed when she stays here with DD. We also have a perfectly good guest room, but it's on another floor.

It's a little weird, but we are so thrilled to have regular and loving overnight sitters that IDGAF.

If she's going to snoop she will do it whether she stays in your room or not. I think I would make the offer but definitely play up how hot it is as that may convince them to take the guest room. I think the stairs and having difficulty with them is what would make me want to offer.

I would offer my room to them.

I would also hide my sex toys first.

I would ask where they'd feel more comfortable and hide/lock up anything you don't want her looking at just in case.

Sounds like they're only there for a week.

I wouldn't love the idea of them sleeping in my room. Admittedly I'm an ass, so I would not want my in laws in my room, but if it were my parents id be ok with it.

I'd definitely hide anything and everything you don't want your MIL to snoop.

Not for fear of snooping because they could do that anyway. We have left my ILs with the kids twice now and snooping never even occurred to me.

My room is just my space. I would not offer it (to anyone) without an extremely compelling reason.

We offer our bed to MIL when we're not here, but our "guest room" is a pull out in the office.

Sex toys go away anytime someone will be here overnight w/o us.

In your case, I would offer either and let her know any non-obvious cons like the temp. Make up both rooms for guests.

She's still going to have to go up and down the steps even though your kids STTN so Id just let her use the guest room unless she specificaly mentions sleeping on the 1st floor. I wouldn't care if my ILs slept in my room if they wanted to though.

I would not, my room is my (& DH) personal space and is not open for anyone else. You have a lovely sounding guest room. Also, personally, I'm not comfortable in someone's space. I would much prefer as a guest to stay in a guest room vs my hosts personal space.

My parents will be sitting for about 5 days and we are offering our room to them. The bed is way nicer, and the guest area is two floors away. It seems lik the right thing to do to at least give them the option to use our room considering the HUGE favor they're doing us by watching C while we're gone (it's a 2k mile flight for them).

I think I'd have them stay in the guest room, especially as that's what DH wants. While your girls sleep thru the night, if you're not there, that might affect them. You never know. I'd want the ILS upstairs.

Our old house didn't have a guest room, so we wouldn't have had the option. Although it would be my mom not my ILs if we needed someone overnight.

My mom would never do itt even if I offered so there's that. My ILs however would in a heartbeat and I'm totally squicked out by it. I would not offer. Guest bedroom is there is nice is accessible plus she'd have to go up and down stairs to get your kids in the morning anyway right? So this saves a trip she's already up there.

I wouldn't, but I don't like my IL's and this situation would never happen (them watching DD for a week). I would offer it to my parents and leave the choice up to them. In our current house our guest room is similar to ours, our bed is nicer, but the guest isn't bad. And we only have 1 bathroom in the house and 0 closet space.

Your guest space sounds really nice so I would just offer them that room. I wouldn't want to deal with moving stuff in my closet and then having to change my sheets right away when coming home from vacation.

We did, because otherwise my parents would have been too far from DD. In your case I could go either way

Of course not. Some of us would chew off our left arms before having the ILs watch our kids.

She happens to have a perfectly good guest room. The ILs are guests. They can use it.

I guess I might if I thought they would be happier there. But neither my ILs or parents would ever take us up on sleeping in our bedroom, so it's a non-issue.

Normally I say no, but if they are watching my kids for a week they can sleep wherever the F they want. Ask where they would be most comfortable.

Hide anything you don't want them to see, either way!
