What do you have and what are you shooting? Do you have a 50mm yet? I shoot Canon. I just got the sigma 35 art and its amazing. Not well priced though. Well priced for how amazing it is but still not cheap. I also have a 100mm macro which i think Nikon has a 105mm. I use it for flowers and food. For my kids a wide angle would be my choice. Something around a 35mm on full frame or a 24mm on a crop camera. I dont knwo what Nikon has. Canon has a couple pancake lens for their crops. I have the 24mm on my Canon t3I and really liked it. My house was too small for the 50mm.Â
I have a D3200 which is the entry point camera for the "pro" range. It came with the basic kit 18-55mm lens. I'd like to drop down to an f-stop of 1.8 since I see so many tutorials shooting there but since I'm still a beginner I don't want to spend 500+ on a lens until I know what I'm doing.
I would start with the 50mm 1.8 then. It will be a great start for you. You can get them for less than $150 I think. You just might find it a little tight indoors. I had one for years and loved it until I dropped and broke it.
I've lost the Apple TV remote. Like really lost it this time. I turned the whole house inside out, and I can't find it. Curse you Apple for making everything so sleek and slim and small. We actually can't watch TV at all without it, that's the only TV we have. Stuck inside all weekend because of the rain with no TV. Kill me now.
Roughly how big is the apple TV remote?
Also, have you checked the fridge? I've done that TWICE now with our Roku remote when I'm not thinking

I told DS we would go to the museum this morning, but with the weather, I kind of just want to snuggle on the couch and watch shows/movies. But we've been really limiting his screen time because we've noticed he sleeps better and behaves better without it.
We last minute decided to do a bigger paint job that we were planning on doing in a few months because of a "it's raining so our painters can't do exterior jobs" discount. I know the next few days will be chaotic having them here, but I am SO excited to freshen up the house and get rid of all of the peach and yellow.

kershnic, finding new doctors is the worst. I've had two doctors move out of the area and one doctor pass away all in the last year. Hopefully my bad luck doesn't extend to DD's pedi.

We had a fun day planned today, but the weather has ruined our fun. We're all off from work/daycare anyways.
Also, I feel like shit. My upper back is killing me. I think it's from coughing so much, but it did not allow for much sleep. Tylenol is useless! DH and DS are going to run errands and I'm going to try to sleep some more. I'm hoping with the crappy weather, it will force us to do stuff inside and wrap up DS' big boy room.

Probably 2" wide and 4.5" long, but very thin. It's pretty small. It frequently falls into or under the couch b/c it's so small. I've completely taken the couch apart. Yes I checked the fridge And all of DS's toy bins. And called DH to have him check his pants pockets and work bag.
countthestars, in the line of funny things kids say.... the other night H was outside with DD and our golden retriever. The dog was chasing a tennis ball and generally being her normal dufus self. She usually stays in our yard really well, but apparently decided to go outside and sit in the middle of the street. H calls the dog a couple times and she won't come back. So he yells, "Dog, get out of the goddamn street!" and DD immediately corrects him, "Dad, that is not goddamn street. That is [our street name]." Lol!
I have a tomato problem. I looooove home-grown fresh tomatoes. Except, apparently when I'm in the first trimester and the texture and acidity make me want to gag. I have about 5lbs of tomatoes that I need to process today and I'm not sure I can do it.
WFH today! I felt like shit last night, but actually feel much better this morning after a pretty good night of sleep.
I am helping my dad upgrade their POS system at the bar to ipads/square. Anything that could have gone wrong, has, but I think I finally have everything (mostly) figured out, and tomorrow is GO day. I will be so excited to be done with it all!
My seven year old argues with me about everything. She had a hard night last night so we got up early to finish her reading summary for yesterday so that she can turn in the packet today. She is arguing with me about every single word that she asks me for help on. I am going to lose my mind. I'm about to buy her a dictionary and make her look shit up.

Do you think I could take DD (3.5m) with me and have her sit on my lap while I get a pedicure? I'm concerned this might a) be a horrible breach of nail salon etiquette and b) the fumes. But damn I want a pedicure.
I have absolutely no clue what we did for our 5th lol. I was thinking dd1 was a newborn but she was actually 1 so I don't even have a good excuse.
I am lying hungover in bed after a girls night last night that involved eating at a vegan restaurant, meeting the owner, and being given a private tour.
I did not get nearly enough sleep and I do not feel like being an adult today.
my DD likes to make toast..she just burnt the shit out of it by turning the setting up to 6 arrrgghhhh now my house reeks! I have the patio door and windows opened
I just found out a friend is eloping after calling off her wedding (for very good reasons). It is so hard to walk that fine line between being happy/supportive for her and yelling ARE YOU SURE THIS IS WISE?!

I've seen people do this at the place I get my hair cut. It's a little iffy but everyone is usually understanding. It's not very cramped space wise so fumes are less of an issue.
If you have a snap & go or travel system, is there enough space for her to stay in the stroller?

I am watching Let's Make a Deal. This contestant just gave a shout-out to her three sons -- Sebastian (fine), Bartleby (...that's unusual) and Peregrine (.....WTF?).
My MIL had the baby in the cutest baby legs yesterday. Now I want to get her one for every season/holiday. I never liked them before but on her they make her look super chunky. now I am hunting for seasonal baby legs on ebay.

We had a friend do this a few years ago. Groom went out for a bachelor night the night before the wedding and never came home. Bride couldn't find him by 2am, friends he was with reported he left around 10 pm complaining he didn't feel well. She and another friend go out to try and see if he had been in a wreck, call hospitals, drive roads he would have taken to get home from friend's house. He either finally called her, or showed up (I can't remember now which it was) the next afternoon, about an hour after the ceremony was set for. He apparently had a piece on the side and had for quite some time. He spent the night with her and decided to say screw the wedding. It was crazy. A couple of months later the secretly eloped without telling anyone. They're still married, but he's super shady and I have no clue how she trusts him or how she could marry him such a short time later.
DD is napping in my arms. I have a million things to do but she hasn't done this in months so I'm going with it. If only we were in a room with a TV though...
DH and I are watching my sister's one month old baby for about three hours tonight while she and her husband go to a rehearsal dinner. It will be our first time ever watching two kids.
PRAY FOR US.
The first time I watched a friend's kid since DD was born, she fell down the stairs (thankfully she was fine). Since one month olds can't move, it can't go worse than that!
