M woke up at 5:15, boo.
Some good news - DH has had some interviews this week. They're going fairly well & he has a 2nd interview on Monday with a job he's really interested in, fingers crossed!
Not sure how old she is, but I hear you on the napping. Both of my kids were not big nappers (oh, except at daycare. For me, nope.). Whenever I hear about people talking about 2 and 3 hours naps, I just cannot comprehend.
We usually get an hour, maybe an hour 20 out of DD. Rarely 2 hours and 3 has only happened when she was sick.
I have a friend whose kid sleeps 3 hours for naps and she acts like she did something to make it happen. Not so much IMO, I think some kids just sleep more than others.
i have a shit napper (dd1 only napped 40 minutes at a time and gave up her nap at 24 months) and an average one (dd2 was a great napper until about 18 months, 3 hours a day, now she is more hit or miss but will take a 3 hour nap a couple times a week).
In my experience napping habits are 100% kid and 0% parenting. Because goddamn did we ever try with dd1.
DS and I are hanging out in the front yard to keep the house quiet while DD naps. He's off digging in the dirt or something while I'm sitting on the stoop GBCNing. I know I should be playing with him, but this is day 3 of solo parenting and I'm tired. I'm encouraging independence, right?

Ben was a complete asshole all day yesterday, apparently - he wouldn't nap, wouldn't let H put him down for a minute. He was still a nightmare when I got home from work, and he just started SCREAMING around 8 o'clock. so I put him to bed and he slept like a log all night. I didn't hear him fuss at all until after my alarm went off at 5:30. I wish they understood logic, so we could explain that he'd feel better if he took a damn nap.
Also, the contractors are FINALLY done working on our house, but the storm door they didn't use (company sent the wrong one) is still sitting in my garage. ARGH! And they put a sign in our front yard without asking, which pisses me off. A)Your stupid trailer was in front of our house for a week and a half, that's all you get, buddy, b)you didn't ask, just assumed and C) the guy is super Christian-y, and the logo includes three crosses. I am not religious, and I don't want that in front of my house. It was bad enough that the trailer had it. So I told H they have until this afternoon to contact us about the door. Then we send a note telling them to pick up their door and their sign from the side of our garage, so we don't have to wait around for them. (The guy has been late every single time he's stopped by.) Poor H feels like he's never going to get this guy out of his life.
Ugh I slept like crap. I woke up from a dream (nightmare?) that after being offers a job yesterday, and counter offering to ask for 6 weeks unpaid maternity leave and 6 weeks part time, they rescinded the job offer. Which would be illegal since pregnants are a protected class. When I pointed that out to them they suggested I hire an attorney. Ugh, lists hope that's not what happens today!
Then, I was wide awake, had to pee and H was snoring like mad. I bet I didn't fall back asleep for an hour and a half.
DH is back from his trip and I plan to leave the baby with him for a couple hours while I go get my hair done. I have mixed feelings about it, I haven't been away from her yet...
My mom is here. I get irrationally annoyed with her. She always has a headache and she complains about it all day long. DD is trying to show her how to play Mario brothers so it's not going well.
I am also pissed at my brother because him and his girlfriend where supposed to stay at my house. Well he apparently changed his mind without telling me. I had made up the couch for them and everything. He is visiting his friends instead and it was supposed to be family weekend.
Oh no, there is a Hanna guy doing market research on people in line. Do not talk to me dude.
You should have told him they need to offer free shipping!!!! I would buy so much more from HA if their shipping wasn't as much. I don't have the option of going to a store. Why can't they offer free shipping when you spend $50 like everyone else?
V was in a good mood but quite a handful this morning. Msniq and mom are taking him to the aquarium, hopefully he enjoys himself and naps well afterwards.
Just landed in Chicago. Realized mid flight my bridesmaid dress is in my closet in Baltimore. Un-fucking-believable. I'm still on the plane but have texted for help and have someone heading to my house to fedex the dress. I can't believe I forgot it. I was so focused on not forgetting kid crap, I forgot the ONE thing we can't just buy here. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
DD is napping, and I'm currently hanging out in bed with the dog to my left, cat to my right, and laptop on my lap. I should get up and put away the 2 baskets of clean laundry staring at me, stuff diapers, etc, etc, but this is more fun. Anxiously awaiting updates from my high school BFF who is being induced today!
Also, I bought Reeses pieces for a recipe, and of course I already broke into the bag. I forgot how delicious they are!
Tonight, girls night with my two BFF's at a wine bar. AND one of them is pregnant so we have an automatic designated driver. Score!
We are driving 6 hours for a funeral today. About 2 hours left and J is just done. He keeps sobbing and throwing anything I try to give him. He needs to fall asleep, but he definitely has a cainine coming though and I think it's bothering him.
He's quiet now, knock on wood. Going to be an interesting 2 days.

I went to a baby wearing meeting today and tried on a Tula, and now I want one. But I already have a Lillebaby that I still like. My H doesn't understand why I need another carrier. It's his own fault for encouraging me to go out and meet people.

I ordered pizza for dinner last night and I was so happy. Until my stomach hurt all night. DH and DS seemed a little off too but not as bad as me. I don't know if leftovers are safe now. :-( I'm having broth for breakfast.
Ugh. Last year my girls' pedi had flu shots when they had their well check in early September. This year they didnt. They told me to call in October to see if they have flu shots yet. I called today for "some insurance" they do now. Luckily mine is covered but I can't get them in until November! That seems so late!
Should I call my family doctor and see if they can get a shot there? Is that ok if they arent patients of my dr?
Today I am on the hunt for size 3T denim overalls. DS2 wants to be a Minion for Halloween. I already tried Carters, Children's Place, Old Navy, Gap. I plan to go to Osh Kosh.
Pinterest told me that a DIY Minion costume was easy!?!
Have you tried Once upon a child or other children's consignment stores in your area? I see tons of overalls there whenever I go.
