WAIT do people seriously do that? I've only ever paid a flat price. And I was told there could be returns!
I don't know - maybe I misunderstood about the FB groups and pricing. And I don't want to start rumors, but I swear someone upthread said there are no returns?
Depends on the seller I think. Most take returns for 2 weeks from what I've seen.
And no bidding. Sellers set the price within a small range. Like leggings go $20-$25. And shipping varies but they say it up front.
It's also my understanding that you don't get to pick what you get. You just get a box of shit and have to try and sell it. So you might get 30 XL shirts and only have sizes 0-2 in your facebook group or whatever.
I wish LLR had been around long enough to have one of the expose-type blogs or Reddit AMAs that the other MLMs do about start up costs, recruiting tactics/pay pyramid, average actual income, etc. Those are just fascinating to read.
I hate virtually all MLMs but I am obsessed with reading about them. I'm just fascinated how people are drawn in and what they do.
ladybug why did you quit if you don't mind me asking.
A few reasons I'm lazy and it's a lot of work I was slacking in parenting and home duties because running parties, pulling inventory, invoicing and shipping takes a lot of time. I wasn't able to book many parties. With LLR in order to place a new order there is a minimum and I wasn't making enough, fast enough to place new orders as often as customers expect.
I also am just not good at sales and I thought it was a bit overpriced and some very ugly so it was hard for me to sell to those who were new to the company. I also just didn't enjoy it like I thought I would.
BUT if I was as successful as my trainer or some girls on my board it would have been worth it. My trainer makes $5-8k a month. So for me, personally, the sacrifices weren't worth the return but for some people it is.

this is like my worst nightmare the more I read about it
a huge box of scary leggings (these leggings are much scarier than any cat I've ever seen) in my house that I paid 5 thousand dollars for and now have to try to organize and sell.
I might as well just set fire to 5 thousand dollars
I wonder if there is pressure among female church members to buy LLR products? Like, are the top sellers very active in bigger LDS regions?
I want to know if there is crossover between the Mormon fashion bloggers and LLR. I don't read many fashion blogs anymore but for awhile it seemed like there were a lot of Mormon ones.

I don't sell and I don't own any but from what I understand they get to pick the sizes, just not the prints.
It's tough to say what my favorite thing is about MLMs, but I love how every single one has these dumb names for the people who are selling. Like consultant. Or stylist with Stella & Dot. #sdjoy
It goes into A LOT of detail that I doubt RF would want out there.
omg, no. I have facebook friends who sell R&F! One even messaged me about it and I was like...the fuck? NO. I didn't even respond. I'll go check it out.
In my hometown, Nerium is the big one, but I am an asshole who is really selective about my high school facebook friends and unlike a lot of my friends I married someone not from the area and don't live there. One of the girls I graduated with makes a SHIT TON of money with Nerium - she and her husband both do it. But it seems like she signed up everyone she knows. I had a few on my facebook friend list but I unfollowed them all. From what I hear, those who are in it, post it non stop. And post about the bonuses and stuff like that. I know the one girl got a check for $350k. All the products seem like garbage though.

Fancy!
#naptimehustler
My most hated MLM hashtag of all time. OF ALL TIME.
Mine is #girlboss - like buying a kit to help you sell garbage means you own your own business and are your own boss. lol.
I mean it sounds like it's a lot of work. So even if I did make 5 thousand dollars a month, is that really that "successful"? And that's the success story. many don't make anything, they lose or break even. And breaking even IS losing when you factor in all the time spent on it. Time isn't free.
In general people don't make money on MLMS, and if they do it's not a living wage. it's like, all the money is concentrated to the top 1% of consultants. And everyone has a dream of being in that top 1% but it's not a reasonable thing to buy in to really, I mean it's highly unlikely you'll get to the top 1% in any profession but at least most professions don't ask YOU to pay to start working for them, then essentially ask you to try your best to drive all your friends and family away.
I feel like they "prey" on people who are currently insecure in actual jobs and in danger of actually giving up a paying job to do this, or people who were perhaps forced to SAH due to the cost of childcare. They lure them in with talks of it being a real career, a really money maker etc. I hate that they take advantage of people like that, it's mostly lies and I hate to see people I know get sucked in.

my cousin is now selling R+F. Great. She just posted about her "promotion" with the hashtag #bossbabe. CHRIST.
One of the products listed is a wand thing where you essentially stab yourself in the fucking face a million times because that's the "only way to create collagen." What?
I think MLMs and their sales in a box set up (and especially the availability of social media) make a lot of people think "hey I can sell stuff too!" But the reality is some people are really good at being sales people, and for the most part, they aren't making their money selling MLM garbage. My uncle retired this year as the VP of sales for a big furniture company; he is an amazing sales man. He's good at it, and had a very successful career. He also worked his ass off and didn't buy a kit to make it big and post a bunch of canned bullshit on facebook, lol.

you can buy something similar on Amazon for like $15. And use like vitamin E or something with it or another moisturizer (maybe - don't quote me on the actual products) instead of whatever R&F does.
ETA: that is not a suggestion or saying I've done that; it's just that I think it's hilarious how much they charge for that product/tool and act like it's something revolutionary and unique to them.

But, what the hell. I sell for a mlm. I like to think I'm not crazy obnoxious about it. I actually enjoy what I do- selling lipstick. It is fun. Sure, I put hours in....but sometimes it is at my actual job during downtime. Sometimes it is at night after my kid goes to bed. Sometimes it is on Saturday morning when my H is sleeping and M is watching shitty cartoons.
For right now, I enjoy it. So I'll keep doing it. I have no dreams of this turning into a full time thing. Or of ever being a top earner. I just like the discount on lipstick and helping my friends if they want to try it. I really don't want to be pushy, and try to keep that in mind when I am working on stuff. If someone expresses interest, I will usually follow up, but if they don't reply, that's it. I figure if they want more info, they know where to find me.
IDK. I'm not making much money....but its fun for now. And I didn't have to invest anything.

I feel like MLM's are sold to be "easy-money" but really, if you want to be successful, you are working 10x harder than any other job, especially since you most likely are working a regular job, plus the MLM job.
