I was in and out. We don't ID. I just go to the table, give my name, and they check it off the big computer print out. I always note if H has voted and call him to remind him.
one citizen's initiative about clean elections that got no/limited press or discussion. not sure many people know what it will do. I voted yes, based on 1. Paul LePage is against it 2. the union said to vote yes 3. my very liberal cousin said to vote yes. I was an uninformed voter.
two bond issues, I just always vote yes on bond issues with matching funds > the amount of the bond. these were for elderly housing and transportation.
then local elections for council and school board:
I didn't know the 2 choices for school board, so I went the one based the guy shared a last name with some kids I know. I really should pay more attention.
The council was unopposed, I didn't like the man running, but I didn't have a write-in, so I left it blank.
This morning Dh took the kids with him and they love to help us vote (we've taken the kids with us every election since the '08 primary). The lady remembered Abby when I went with them this evening, despite it being 11 hours later, and it turned out it was a good thing she was with me because I misread one of the issues. She said, "No, Mommy, it's yes-yes-no-yes."

Voting went fine. Just two races and no initiatives or referenda. Voted for the library supporter for DA (I know that libraries won't be a focal point of that job but gotta support the supporters!), and I wasn't feeling too creative tonight so I wrote in "anyone else" for the city council race. I really dislike the guy running unopposed. No ID has to be shown here, so I just gave my name and address and that was that. As it should be.
I voted! The election judge told me that my vote probably won't be counted by I could vote next time. I reminded him that every election is important and will be filing an official complaint. He then said he appreciated my "tenacity" and willingness to try 3 times to vote.
I am happy to read this. I think about all the potential voters who wouldn't have bothered after the first incident. It's infuriating.
Co is voting to see if the state can keep all the sales tax they collected from marijuana sales or if they have to give some of it back.
My city has a couple anti-development measures. One would let neighborhoods vote on proposed development projects and the other would make developers pay a fee for all public services that would increase (libraries, schools, parks, roads, human services, senior services, etc.).
What the what? Neighbors get to tell private land owners what they can do with their property? That's crazy! I'm pretty liberal, but NIMBYs would cause chaos with that much power. On the second developer one, the City hopefully has already been doing some of that, that's par for the course to develop land, most come with a development agreement. No stories here, we dropped ours in the box on Sunday. Early results are showing the Jeffco recall successful on all candidates. Hope it holds!!!

If I had a job to go to I probably would have given up. But it's just around the corner from me and knowing how conservative my area is, they needed my vote.
I'm so nervous. Tonight we find out if our ultra-conservative, Tea-party, Koch-backed school board majority gets recalled.
I checked last night and my ballot has been processed (most people vote by mail-in here).
The amount of money that Americans For Prosperity has spent here is insane. Local control, yeah right! I hope JeffCo throws the Kochs out on their asses, along with the three idiots (seriously, at least two of them I truly doubt their ability to comprehend complicated subjects) on the BOE.
You're nervous? I guess I am, too, because that would suck if the recall fails. But everyone I know is voting yes. The recall folk have been out in force and I'm feeling pretty confident. :::knocks on wood!:::
Of course, I have seen any poll numbers. Are there poll numbers?!?
I have been a bit nervous as well, because I figured I was just hanging out with like-minded folks and wasn't sure which way my family was voting.
OMG, I think we've done it! The numbers aren't final yet, but I don't think there are enough votes left uncounted that could turn the tide -- JeffCo Board of Education is RECALLED.
OMG. GET THE FUCK OUT, YOU BASTARDS. AND TAKE THE KOCH BROTHERS WITH YOU!

The story I read said "OVERWHELMING majority". See! I knew you shouldn't have been nervous!

They also keeping our eight dollars.
Good. I hope the state has something good planned with the $66 million they amassed with the pot tax.
I think it's funny how much we love our taxes in CO.

I'm always shocked when a tax increase doesn't pass. I ran into someone I know dropping ballots off at the library and she said she planned on stopping in, but it opens late on Tuesdays. "Hopefully the new library tax will expand their hours! This is ridiculous!" Like it was a done deal that the library tax would pass. Which it did. Lol.
Half of my (Freshmen) students are not registered to vote. I asked those who are not registered to vote whether they would do so if I gave them the forms. They all said yes and said it enthusiastically. But now I don't know how to help them to register. And I think it's weird that they all seem to be into the idea of voting and yet half of them aren't registered.
Did you follow this at all? I didn't, but my BIL (who's strongly in favor of legal weed) started posting articles leaning against, so I read a little. I guess it enshrined a pot cartel in their state constitution? The comments on BIL's feed suggest that a better measure was in the works for the next election. I don't think this was necessarily an ideological vote.
I'm proud of my state. I know so many people who are for the legalization of pot, but realized this was a terrible way to make it legal, as it created a monopoly. I'm glad people were able to aee past the emotional ads to see what was really happening with this issue. Now maybe they can rethink how to legalize it properly and try again.

This. It wasn't about the pot it was about the way it was going to be set up. Although there was another constitutional amendment on the ballot that did pass making it unconstitutional for the state government to grant a monopoly or oligarchy for tax purposes so had the pot amendment passed I'm not sure how those two competing amendments would have resolved themselves.
