If we are home and awake our garage door is open. We never close it. We cleaned it out this morning bc it was embarrassing how dirty and cluttered it has been since we moved in. We don't park in it, but walk through it from the house to car. I wished we used our front door more often bc a nice entry way was on my wish list when house hunting.
No. It's in the back of the house and there have been a lot of thefts when people leave their garage door open. DH has accidentally left it open overnight before and I was livid. Luckily nothing was taken. Our new garage door opener closes automatically if it has been open for 5 minutes.
If we are home, especially in the summer, we leave it open. In the winter we'll shut it during the day if we are home. We use the garage door as our main entrance.
Nope. I have a completely irrational fear of cats and one day, after DH had left the door up, there was a cat in the rafters of our garage. I nearly had a heart attack!! I always close it immediately!
Not when it's cold out, but in the warmer temps I usually leave it open if we are home. Especially if we are coming and going a lot during the day, or if dd is going to be playing out front.
We don't have one currently (sob) but no we don't keep it open when we have one. DH once had a $$$$ bike stolen out of it when he left the door open to go inside to make a phone call. Ever since then we make sure to close it.

What brand garage opener do you have? I'm always afraid I'm going to forget to close the door when I'm gone for the day.
It's a chamberlain. I think DH bought it off Amazon. I love it. You can set the door closing timer to 10, 5, or 1 minutes. You can also hit a hold button and then it won't close until you manually close it. I used to be paranoid I hadn't closed it after leaving for work and would turn back home to check. Now I don't have to.

No, closed as soon as we pull in. If H is mowing the lawn the door stays open (mower lives in the garage), but that's only a couple of hours once a week in the summer. If we are playing with driveway toys, we are right there and close the door before leaving the driveway to go in the back or inside.

I NEED this. I get major anxiety thinking i left the door open some days after I leave for work.
No. We live in the country, open garage = wildlife moving in. Mice at a minimum, but maybe raccoon and possums too. We open it to get something and close it immediately.
ETA: we hope to park in it eventually. But right now it's full of stuff from when we moved in a year ago. Plus stuff from DH's grandmother before she died, and my parents have some stuff in there too
It is only open when we move the cars or if we are working outside. We keep our bikes and tools in the garage, thefts from garages are too common to leave it open unsupervised.

Here too. I've seen a few snakes too. I would die if one got in our garage.
Only if we are working or playing in the yard, or DH is doing a project in the garage. Our neighbors leave their garage door open ALL the time (including overnight) and it seems so careless, especially with bikes, strollers, cars, and a boat in plain sight. We live in a safe neighborhood, but you just never know who is lurking around.
Never. Only to go in and out. My parents always have theirs open and it drives me nuts because the front of their house is really cute but the garage is a cluttered mess. I can't take the dissonance.
