Wow! I am so happy Jojo is doing well and that there are such beautiful, amazing and generous people here. I hope your pup continues on the path of healing. Keep us updated!
Omg this update is wonderful! It brought me to tears! Still praying for your pup and her vets. They are amazing as is ML board! Send good thoughts and prayers to you!
Thank you for sharing this, & really uplifting my spirit this morning, as far as the kindness of others. Your gratitude is very apparent, @ I'm SO happy this for your pup. Wow.

This is an amazing update! We (general "we" not just this board) always hear about the hateful, horrible things people do, but by and large, people are good. I really believe that. This is an excellent example of the kindness of sometimes total strangers, and it's wonderful.

Oh, my heavens! I'm so glad you got her the help of the emergency vet! These pics are far more terrifying than I had imagined. I bet you're glad to have her home ... and I bet she's glad to be back with you! Is she on any kind of special diet? I had really good luck feeding a seriously ill cat human baby food, I think because it's super easy to digest.
The pictures are terrible. I want to cry looking at her because with her being so dehydrated on wednesday, her skin was pulled tight and you could see a huge indent between each rib. And she couldnt hold her head up.
She is on i/d wet food. I believe that is hills brand. They want her on soft food until the sutures come out just because they dont want to take any chances in her internal sutures not holding.
They said I can feed her boiled chicken and rice if I want to as well. But very small amounts.
Friday night was the first time she ate in 3 weeks. They said she is ravished and just wants to eat constantly but cant yet due to obvious reasons of internal.
I want to speak with the first vet's office But I cant until I calm down or I am just going to yell and yell at him.
He KNEW she was this skinny and he kept telling me it is just pancreatitis and to ride it out. I am so angry and SO hurt for her.

Wow, those photos are awful! I mean, it's great to see her home and know that the surgery is done, the news is wonderful. But man, she is so thin. I hope you rip that first vet a new one, he/she deserves it.
Oh wow. I just saw this and had no idea you were in this position. I'm glad you got it taken care of.
I would write a letter to the first vet detailing everything you've found out and demanding that he refund the $500 you paid. I would also report him to the licensing board. Not an either/or. And I would take him to small claims court if he doesn't return the money. I'm not even kidding about that. This fills me with rage.

I echo elle. I would absolutely report him and get your money back. It's heartbreaking how thin she is but I am so glad she is doing better. I'm so glad for the amazing person who helped you out.
A letter is a good idea. I didn't know how I should approach it but that I can do. I cannot speak to him or I will just get teary and angry and probably wouldn't get anywhere. He misdiagnosed my dog and by the time I realized he was full of shit, it got too late and she quickly got worse.
I just keep thinking, if this happened to a person it would be a huge huge mistake so why cant it be a huge mistake for my dog. I dont have kids, she IS my "kid"
