DS is still napping and we are supposed to be at gymnastics for DD in 9 minutes. Guess we are skipping today
So DH is blowing me away...he usually isn't very good with gifts...he gets overwhelmed and hates it. Yesterday he gave me tickets to a local craft show. Then this morning he gave me a 'coupon' for a foot rub. Turns out he is doing an advent calendar for me. I am so surprised. It is so thoughtful. He really is awesome.
I was up part of the night delivering calves with H. Then I couldn't go back to sleep. I ordered a new phone, sorted and uploaded pictures for the inlaws family calendar and paid bills. At 2am. Thank God my kids are at DC today because I'm tired now...lol.
I've been wearing my LLR leggings as long underwear/layering pieces and it's awesome. I stay warm and dry under my work pants and snowpants. They're also not itchy and don't move around a ton.
I just made a full 10-cup pot of coffee for myself. It was a long night. I was planning on going in to work early today, but not anymore. Now I'm drinking coffee and watching the Neato to make sure it maneuvers around all of the Christmas decorations okay. Exciting life, I know.
DD ransacked the handful of toys that are on the advent calendar this morning. I'm not sure how to punish her. Do I take it away or not let her open any more toys? We made it one night!!!! And the rest of the week is 'experiences' so she won't be opening anything but it was all stuff we were excited to do with her.
My five-year-old DS occasionally has bad dreams. He has a little light in his bed that he can turn on in the middle of the night, which is usually enough to make him feel better.
Last night, I woke up around 3:00am to his terrified screaming. I ran into his room. He was drenched in sweat and shaking and climbed into my lap. I asked him what his bad dreams were about, thinking it must have been a doozy.
His reply? Butterflies, Mom! They are EVERYWHERE!
He was so terrified, he had to sleep with us, which rarely happens. I was caught between amusement and serious empathy for the little guy. Who knew butterflies could be so terrifying!?
I think I'm just going to bum around the house this morning. I need to do laundry and should probably decorate the tree and prepare for Girl Scouts. We have just a busy week in the evenings. Soccer Monday, dance rehearsal Tues and Thursday, and night we have Girl Scouts. I've been out the last two mornings and that's enough. Luckily I went grocery shopping (by myself!) during dance last night.
I need to get back into a working out routine. I'm starting to feel the paying for the gym but not going enough guilt. Joining a moms club is really fulfilling my social need that I was getting from the gym. And doing fun stuff with the kids and friends is more fun than working out lol. Maybe I'll dust off the treadmill in the basement and cancel the gym if I can get into a routine.

Tell me more.
How many? How much assistance do they need? Do they go into labor naturally or do you induce somehow?
2. One heifer (girl) one bull (boy).
The level of assistance is dependent upon the age of the cow, how many calves they've had prior, whether or not it's twins and a whole lot of whatever Mother Nature decided...lol. Some have calves totally on their own like nothing ever happened, some need some twisting and pulling assistance from H. A few need a vet. These two were easy. One all on its own, the other need to be pulled by H (we have a contraption for that. Not dangerous or painful. It just puts the head the right direction so the calf slides out easier). H was tired so I helped him feed the newborns and got water/vitamins to the cow.
99% of ours go into labor naturally. Cows do on the greatest majority of farms. Like once a year we have one that needs an induction (which they do with meds, similar to ones they give humans) because of hip structure or hormone imbalances or plain old nature. It's not common here though.
I'm having trouble fitting in size 11 shoes - I think I need to go to 11.5.
I ordered a pair of sneakers and was all mad at New Balance for making their shoes tight. I asked my CW w/size 11 to try them on too..they fit her just fine

How old is she? DS ransacked his too. But he's almost 2. I just confiscated the toys and taped it back together the best I could.
It's Christmas. It's fun. Little fingers get excited. I don't know if I'd punish for that. I'd just keep trying again. Maybe rotate the toys/experiences so she forgets about what she saw?
And put the advent calendar on top of the fridge where she can't reach it. DS thinks that's a far worse form of torture than anything else I could have dreamed up!
Another rainy day here. I'm dropping DS off at SIL's house for a few hours this afternoon and I'm trying to decide what to do with my time. Should I just come back home and relax, run errands, or maybe bake cookies? Decisions, decisions!
I'm wearing non-maternity leggings today. My cranberry Matty M ones with a grey sweater tunic. Really cute if I'm being honest. BUT I feel like I'm wearing spanx because the waistband of these are a liiiiiiitle snug on my belly. I guess it could be worse and they could not fit at all?!

Run a few fun errands or places where it's annoying to bring DS to and then go home and relax. I love baking but all it does is create MORE work because then you have all the dishes and the kitchen to clean up!
Well I'll be. I hope this doesn't blow up in my face. I was looking at eBay auctions for more Thomas trains for DS's stocking. I "made an offer" on one lot of 5 trains for 25% less than asking price, and the seller accepted! I'm always so wary of eBay, that the auction could be a fraud. Fingers crossed it pans out! If not, eBay always sides with the buyer right?
I'm 90% done with my Christmas shopping as of this morning, which I'm incredibly impressed by. I'm usually a pretty last minute Amazon orderer. Just need a gift for my sister's boyfriend and some random stocking stuffers and I'm going to call it done!
I have my 36 week appointment this afternoon and am interested to see if the doctor wants to do the growth ultrasound she mentioned a few weeks ago. Shit is getting real around here!
Facebook reminded me that 5 years ago I was so excited that DS1 slept for 5 hours for the first time. I feel like my life hasn't changed that much. I mean I know I've had plenty of good nights sleep in between then and now. But it also feels crazy that I've basically subjected myself to crazy amounts of sleep deprevation between 3 kids over the past 5 years.
I made a Santa video using that link I posted on here yesterday. DD watched it before bed and was so in love with it. It has a picture of the child that you upload and then you tell it how old the child is, their name and a couple other things and all of that is included in the video.
Starting to go a little stir crazy from constant breastfeeding from the same damn spot on the couch. I don't have anywhere I actually need to go, and will just spend needless money if I walk around Target or the mall... So I'm begging DH to tag along while he goes to Lowes. This is my life, lol

This is what I'm scared of with a winter maternity leave. When I had C in July if I got stir crazy I could go for a walk (or easily throw the kid in the car to go to Target again). This won't be so easy in January in MN!
Sitting in the parking lot at Target to pick up the car seats that I spent 3 hours ordering on Monday. E is asleep so I dont want to wake him just yet. I have to pee.
Edit: we've regressed back to the RNP for sleeping at night and now we're all getting more sleep. E woke at 3 to nurse, then slept until 6 when he was up for the day. Whatever, mama needs her sleep too.
