I thought I wanted a girl for #2 because I don't have a sister and everyone is always OMG SISTERS!! DD and DS are crazy about each other and I love having one of each. Bro/sis combo doesn't seem to get much love around here lol. It's either Yay brothers!! Or yay sisters!!
I always wanted one of each, boy first then girl. I got 2 boys.
My thinking is kind of along the lines that two of the same sex is nice for the kids, but one of each is nice for the parents since they get to experience parenting both sexes. In my case, the kids "win" and they adore each other so I'm very happy they have that brother relationship.
I kind of wanted/assumed a boy for #2, but I'm really happy that DD is a girl. Combing and styling her hair is the highlight of my day most of the time, lol. Can't wait until she gets enough so I can braid it for her.
Having one of each, I can safely say that I find girl clothes much more fun.
Before having kids, both DH and I had a pretty strong preference for wanting a boy. The second time, I had a slight preference for another boy. If we decide to have another child, I think I'd have a slight preference for a girl.
Ditto this. I had always pictured myself as a mom of boys. However, I cried tears of joy when I found out DD was a girl so my slight preference for another boy was clearly only slight.

I only have one right now. Before her, I knew two was our limit and I didn't care about the combo. I still don't; during my second pregnancy, I still had no preference. So if/when we have another someday, I see the benefits of either sex and will be happy no matter what.
Yes I always wanted two girls and I really wanted DD to have a sister. I did have some sad feelings when we found out DS was a boy but now, almost 16 months old and I am Soooo happy he's a boy. I am loving it'!
I wanted a girl #1, sisters #2 & a boy #3. Mainly because my brothers were terrible (& still causing my mother incredible pain), specifically to me & my sister. What I did not want is 1-2 boys first then a girl, because my childhood sucked because of having older brothers. I know my experience has biased me. Having a sister saved me in a lot of ways growing up.
I always pictured myself with 2 girls, and didn't want a boy mostly bc all the little boys I had ever taken care of were troublemakers. We now have one of each and though my little man is already way more of a troublemaker then his sister he is also sweeter too. I do hope that if/when we go for a 3rd that we have another girl though.
H also wants another girl but he says only because DS constantly pees on him while he's changing his diaper lol.
then i had a girl, and wanted all girls because SISTERS!!
now we're having a boy and i'm actually really happy to get one of each lol.
basically, i can't make up my mind.
This but opposite.
Slight preference for a girl, got a boy. Wanted all the boys so they'd be the cutest little brothers ever (DH is one of 3 boys, so I really thought it would be all boys). Then got a girl.
Life is good as is - but I'm sure I'd think that no matter what we got.

I always told DH that I hoped we would someday have a baby girl. Once we had DD1, I honestly had no preference as to what sex our future babies would be. We knew we wanted multiple children and I could see the pros/cons of any arrangement of sexes. Even after DD2, I still had no preference one way or the other.
I'm thrilled with having 3 girls now; as a kid, I always wished for a sister and I love that my girls will have each other. They already all have this amazing bond and I hope they'll stay close as they get older.
Yes. It is one of the reasons I had a 3rd. It was guaranteed we'd have one set of same sex siblings. I would say both girls are closer to their brother at this point though. Hah!

I knew I wanted a girl, and when I had a daughter first I was THRILLED. Since we knew we wanted two kids, I did not care one bit what the second was. When I found out we were having another girl I cried real, pure, tears of joy, because deep down I knew having two daughters is what we were meant to have. I'm sure I would have loved having a boy just as much, but I must say the true elation I feel about having two girls is just more than I could have imagined.
I originally wanted 2, boy and girl. After our first we decided we wanted 3. My H was hoping for boy, boy, girl. We got boy, girl (who's a total tomboy), girl. Life is pretty good now. The 2 oldest are best friends (75% of the time).
ETA: I think H only wanted one girl because he worries about them irrationally all the time. He's already planning on getting a "wife beater", shot gun and a bottle of whiskey for the first time they go out on a date. (Think will smith in Bad Boys). Plus those girls have him wrapped around their little fingers. He's a mush melon with them.
I always thought I wanted a girl, util I had DS. Now I would prefer that a future DC is a boy. As long as kid 2 is chill like DS, I guess it doesn't matter. Based on my and my sisters personalities, I just assume most girls (in my family) are demanding, and DH and his brothers are all very calm, low key guys. So maybe my preference is based on my sisters and BILs.
I would have been fine with one of each but had a slight preference for two of the same, mainly because I thought it might be slightly easier. And cheaper, if I can reuse stuff
I want one of each. If we're lucky enough to get pregnant again, I'd be happy to have another boy, though - I 'd love to be able to bust out some of my favorite outfits again
The longer it takes to get pregnant a second time, the more a possible third seems like a total pipe dream.
The first time, I wanted/pictured us having a girl. Once I was pregnant I "knew" he was a boy right away (and I was right). I was a little sad but I love having him.
This time, I kind of want a boy because, brothers!, plus they will be born the same month so it would save a lot on clothes, lol. I have a feeling it's a girl though.
In a perfect, ideal world, I would have 2 boys and then 2 girls and that would cover all my bases lol.

I did. I really wanted a girl the first time (and had one) but I was surprised by how badly I wanted that second girl. I always wanted a sister and I'm glad my two girls get to have that.
Pre-kids I wanted two girls because I always wanted a sister. Now I have a boy and would love another one. Girl stuff just seems so foreign to me. Obviously I would love a girl if we have another child but I would probably be really fumbly.
