Yes. She was doing one wakeup by 2 months, it all went to hell around 4 months and stayed awful and got progressively worse until we ferbered at 8 months. Things have been fine since ferber.
X was a crap sleeper until 9+ months when he started sleeping 7-7.
K gave us decent stretches from the start and STTN from 10 weeks - 5.5 months and then it went to crap with multiple night wake ups for a long time. She is 14 months and still wakes at least once per night.
Nope. DD started STTN at 3 months and she never stopped. There were a few random bad nights the first year but nothing bad at all and it never lasted. STTN is the only milestone she ever hit early, lol. She's still a champion night time sleeper at 5.
Yes. It got better and he even STTN around 6 months for a few weeks. Then we went away for a week and it was a total free for all until he did sleep training at 8-9 months.

Yes. The first two months she would wake up 2-3 to eat. The 3rd month she STTN for about. 5 weeks and then the 4 month wakeful hit and she was horrible for a few months.

DD STTN from 6 weeks to 4 months. Then the 4 months wakeful hit and it was... Bad. Things got better at 5 months, going down to 2 wake ups a night, which went down to 1 within a month or so. She went back to STTN at 10 months, which she has done ever since.
No, he STTN at eight weeks (by which I mean 9 hours, so he woke up very early, but I didn't care. The long stretch was awesome). Over the course of a couple months, he worked his way up to 12 hours and has stayed there ever since. (knocking frantically on wood to avoid jinxing myself)
No, it got better and stayed better. She STTN at 4 weeks ( don't hate me) and continued from then on.
I'm only reading this response and pretending all the others don't exist.
I know. I'm crossing everything I have hoping #2 is like DD! She would STTN for 12 hours, wake to nurse at about 6/7 am then sleep 3-4 more hours. Then an afternoon nap too. I'm pretty sure the other moms in my new mom group hated me because of it so I didn't talk about it.
No, it got better and stayed awesome. We've had a few rough patches (a few nights at a time max), but overall she's been sleeping 11-12 hours straight since six months old. Before that she had one MOTN wake up from two months until six months.
There's hope!
Don't brag too much! DD STTN at 10 weeks, 12 hrs a night until she was like 2.5.
DS STTN at 10 weeks, 12 hours a night. Until 5 months. Then he started getting up twice a night, through the present, at 7.5 months. :::runs and hides::::
I think good sleep came in waves with DD1. She was decent overnight but horrible to get down. Then we did Ferber to help with getting her down, which removed a feeding, so she was up more overnight for a bit. Then we did Ferber again and things were good. Then she started teething and everything went to hell. Had to redo Ferber basically everytime a tooth came through or she got sick, since we would do more coddling overnight. I feel as though we are trending the same with DD2.
We got into a great routine at 7 weeks, then around month 4 it went downhill, but only for a few days. He started to realize "oh hey, curtains have patterns! my sheets are teal! I see the moon shining through the blinds!"
Then he got over it and went back to sleeping well.
DD was such a terrible sleeper that there was no "better" in her first year.
DS slept pretty well (by my standards) until 4 months, and that month was absolute hell. He didn't sleep for more than an hour stretch the entire month. He went back to manageable wakeups at 5 months, though.
Nope. L started sleeping 8+ hour stretches by 3 months and then just kept getting better. Around 9 or 10 months I cut out the 4:30 am feed and he slept from 7-6 every night. Still does.

Yes. 6 weeks to 12 weeks. It was 1, sometimes 2 wakeups, although she took forever to get to sleep. Once I went back to work, it went to shit until Ferber at 5.5 months.
Nope, got better and stayed that way. She was STTN consistently by 8 weeks, and while there have been stretches up to a week here and there when she'd be up once or twice at night, it's never been a lasting thing.
Yes, he was pretty good newborn sleeper, relatively speaking. Then it all went to shit around 3-5 months. Then we sleep trained, it got better. Then he'd have random regressions and we spent a lot of time stressing about if we should let him CIO again, comfort him, or what. At 12 months now he has been sleeping well for the past month or so, but given his history I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to stop again.
DS: he STTN from 6w to 4m. Like 12 hours STTN. Then the 4MW hit us like a ton of bricks and he didn't STTN reliably again until we sleep trained at 18mo. His sleep has been mostly ok since then. As an older toddler & preschooler he sleeps 8-6, but wakes up 2-3x a week for nightmares.
DD: she STTN (with a 10pm dream feed) from 2w to 6m. She was in our room in her crib that whole time, her sleep was AMAZING. It's not quite as good now that she's in her own room. She normally wakes 1-2x to eat, but if she's teething (like right now) it's 2-3x. She's at least easy to feed MOTN and plop back in her crib, no rocking needed.
