DS is Jackson Reed (Reed was my grandmother's maiden name). We'd like to stick with family middle names for the twins but are a bit stuck on first names.
Avery Joy (joy is MIL's middle name) Nora Lynn (lynn is my mom's middle name)
Owen William (William is my dad and brother's name) Caleb Blake Isaac
Boy middle name options: William Leighton Charles
We'd been leaning towards Avery and Owen, but are they too popular? I mean, Jackson is popular but he's never had another in his daycare/preschool classes so it hasn't been an issue yet, but maybe it will be later?
Our last name starts with Huck, 2 syllables, German.
Help! Open to other first name options too.
ETA: thoughts on Sydney? Andrew is another middle name option.
I love Avery and Owen. I wouldn't worry about popularity. With all of the...umm...creative names out there today, the top names are much less common than what they were even 15 years ago.
Even they end up having classmates by the same name, it'll be OK. I had a class of 9 when I graduated 8th grade, and there were 2 sets of name twins...we all survived!
Just throwing this out there--Jackson Avery and Owen are Grey's Anatomy characters. Lovely names, but the connotation is there.
This would not register for me at all. Would the average person really care? I would probably avoid a reference to a huge movie like Star Wars, but a TV show wouldn't be a big deal.

I wouldn't care but my husband (who would only realize it when he googled) would. Our second's potential name got vetoed because "Ben and Kate" debuted and "Ben and Matt" were synonymous with Affleck and Damon. We ended up going Biblical again.

FWIW, I like Nora and Owen together.
haha, we have a Ben and Kate We named her that right before the show debuted but I think it got cancelled pretty quickly. The only Kate duo I wouldn't do is Will and Kate lol

Ha our boy/girl names are Gilmore Girls characters. We did it on purpose when thinking of a girl name (Lorelai) That name ended up unused because we found out that we'd be getting a boy, but we decided on a name that is also associated with Gilmore Girls but didn't even put it together while thinking of names.
I think of Leighton as a girl name so I would either pair it with Nora or leave it off.
I like the suggestion upthread of Eleanor with a nickname of Nora. I'm a lover of classic names though so I'm drawn to Eleanor/Nora over Avery.
Eleanor Joy or Eleanor Lynn Caleb William or Owen William
Jackson/Eleanor/Caleb sound great together. They'd all have an option for nicknames too: Jack/Nora/Cal.
As an Eleanor mom, I like this idea
I like both of your girl names, and for boys, I like Owen and Isaac best, with either William or Charles as the middle name for either.
If your DS1 already has a name for your side of the family, do you need to make sure that one of the twins has a name from your DH's side of the family (so Lynn instead of Joy)?
I like Nora and Caleb or Nora and Issac. Jackson, Nora, and Caleb flow well together.
FWIW, Grey's is the first thing I would think of if I met a family with kids named Jackson, Avery, and Owen, but I am old. It's not like that is going to register with kids when they're growing up.
