Well, I am supposed to work Sunday night, but we are expecting 20-30 inches of snow. And I'm essential personnel, so I HAVE to go in. I'll be praying all weekend that my commute isn't terrible.
Crappy rain and 36 degrees here so I was on the mill this morning for 12 miles. Tomorrow the kids go with MIL and I hit the expo for HC15k. DH and I are excited for a quiet house assuming none of this rain turns to snow. Sunday DH and I have the 15k race, then we have a tennis match and finally home to watch football.
We have icy roads and are supposed to get freezing rain/sleet through tomorrow night. Everyone is home today. I am supposed to run 18 miles, but everything is icy and the gym is closed so treadmill isn't an option. It's not supposed to get above freezing until Sunday afternoon. I may end up just skipping it and doing it next Saturday. I will have my 18 and 19 miles in back to back weeks. Is that a big deal?

Just do it next week, you'll be fine.
Thanks. Luckily everything is coming to a head this weekend to make running unappealing: I have a cold, I've been having weird abdominal pain, this ice storm, my running buddy is out of town because a family member is dying.
Hopefully we can get all the shit behind us this week and have a smooth and healthy few weeks of training.
ditzydi - you're back!! Good luck Sunday on the half.
Thanks! Hopefully I don't freeze! It's supposed to be 36 Sunday morning. I had trouble warming up after my run last night and I was wearing a tech t and compression capris. Used all the hot water in the house, ate soup, wore house shoes, jumped in bed and was still freezing and couldn't fall asleep. And it was in the 50s/40s.
And more of a random but this is after last night's run. Found some tinsel on a roadside christmas tree that somebody didn't pick up. So I grabbed it as a pick me up bc I was on mile 7 and freezing at that point and was starting to drag.
Got me happy. I'm sure I looked crazy to the people driving by.

venice2007 and coconutbug, my heart is so sad for both of you. Love and light to you and your families.
Today I took the girls to their ice skating lessons and other than that, it's been trying to rest as much as possible. I may or may not jump on the trainer for 30 minutes tonight for a final bike check but probably not.
Tomorrow is my first cycling road race. I have five teammates in it with me, so hoping just for a pack finish. We have one girl that can go with breakaways so we'll do what we can to hold everyone else back and give her a chance at a podium.
Oh gosh coconutbug, I'm so sorry for your loss. And venice2007, I'm so sorry for yours as well. All the comforting, healing thoughts headed your guys' way!
I'm hanging out with my boy tonight. I think we're going to cuddle and watch a movie when we finish dinner.
Tomorrow I have 20 miles. Eek! I have to start an hour and a half after the rest of my group so I'm going to join them on the trail. At least then I'll only have to do the last part solo. Going out with friends and crashing at their place tomorrow night.
I'll go home at some point on Sunday but don't have plans otherwise.

Everyone has a bad training week, skipping one long run won't matter at the end of the day.
I'm finally conscious after being asleep most of the day. The implant isn't hurting too much, but it's still a bit numb. I'm starving, so I think I will make some soup and go back to the couch. The wintery mix has started in metro Atlanta, so we'll see how road conditions are tomorrow. I'm taking the week off from the bike anyway b/c I haven't had any time off since last summer. It's needed.
I've prepped a ton of food, did the laundry, cleaned the bathrooms and am sitting down to take an online course before heading out to shovel before bed.

clseale, I'm glad I'm not the only one re. the Iron Strength workout. I did it for the first time last Monday and my quads were shot- sore to the touch for days.
